A leader of the Undumgi will be added when one emerges.
I really want to influence this. Not only I'd it important for trade and ranald stuff but because we'll have to literally live with him. We've established a certain degree of control over the group and we should be able to leverage that alongside our other skills to set up a suitable leader.

What do people think about spending an action on this next turn?

Kindof frustrating how nobody seems to care how Esbern and Seija will leave if we don't recruit them. Besides how they'll count as one slot! 1! Slot!

This isa great deal 3 for 2 wizards slots.

Panoramia will stay with the halflings and we can snap up Maximilian and the pair of Ambers easily!

*Should we expand ( or open new) niter factories, both in Stirland and here?
While useful for the local economy, it would be doubly useful for Dawi for the quality gunpowder production.
The traditional dwarf guilds the chosen Steward is doing know how to do this and gunpowder production is probably a priority, as is shit removal.
*Hypothetically, which Wind users other than Chamon would be the most useful to Karak Eight Peaks? I mean Ghyran, yes, and maybe Aqshy, Ulgu because of the trade network...
-Hysh - None of their specialized foes here, but they can heal and that never hurts.
-Azyr - Divination never hurts and its really prime observatory space. But theres a traditional rivalry with our order and they aren't as good underground

-Aqshy - Mountain full of trolls is the kind of thing you want some for, though IIRC Bright Journeymen are supposed to be assigned to the Imperial Army.
-Ulgu - Grey Journeymen would be VERY useful attaches for Ranger teams. Not hard to get either for us.

-Ghyran - Theres alot of land to rejuvenate and any area this significant in the Waystone network likely has some weird shit growing. Like those magic shrooms. Healers are also always desired.
-Ghur - Magic rich area also means exotic beasts like the spider hivemind. Amber wizards make great scouts, they are usually crosstrained as hunters and animal form is extremely good for passing seen but unnoticed.

-Chamon - They got more to gain than to give really(mostly due to stubborn dwarf pride),
-Shyish - Not much of their favored areas of interest to draw them in, but they ARE dead killy and so so much to kill out here.

Looks like Belebro has been focused on Karak Relations in his Council picks. He has members of the Royal Clans of Izor, Zhufbar, and Azul.

[X] Plan recruit everyone!
[X] Plan Ambers and a Gold

[X] Leave the EIC alone

[X] Windreader > Windsage: Your magical senses see more than your normal ones. +2 Learning, even more able to see and understand emotion and magical effects in others.
[x] Wolf Familiar > Winter Wolf Familiar: Turns out Wolf is a late bloomer. Wolf will grow large enough to ride upon.
[X] Magical Duellist: Anyone unwise enough to try to cast spells you don't want them to will quickly regret it. +2 Learning, +10 bonus to dispelling and inducing miscasts.
[X] Disdain for Sigmar > Polytheist: Your bitterness towards Sigmar has softened with time and distance. You're still not thrilled with him, but as long as his followers are coexisting with those of other Gods, you can deal with it. +1 Piety, removes anti-Sigmarite penalty except when dealing with Sigmarite supremacists and monotheists.
[X] Assassin: Combat is easiest when the other person doesn't realize they're in it. +2 Intrigue, +40 bonus against unaware targets.
[X] Marksman: Blackpowder is a wonderful thing. +2 Martial, +10 to attacks with blackpowder weapons.

[X] Donate it to whoever ends up leading the Undumgi.

[X] Take an active hand in the EIC

[X] Infiltrator: Nobody seems to guard anything well enough to keep you out. +2 Intrigue, +10 bonus to infiltration.

[X] Polyglot: Your time with the Dwarves has revealed that you have an ear for languages, and learn new languages much faster.

Yeah, but Belegar is a virtuoso with a hammer. His WS is second only to the Slayer King in the dwarf book, a whopping 8.
That's future-Belegar, though. Current-Belegar is only WS6, we have seen his TT statline in one of the updates.

Esbern and Seija, from what we have seen, also about as effective crunch-wise as a single wizard (they do everything together, so we won't get any more AP from them than from any other wizard).

Hmm, just as a matter of clarification; are the winter wolves able to ride their wolves as a 'direct' blessing from Ulric, or could they ride them sans blessing just with skill?

(Also, is the kurfuffle in middenland a canon thing, or has it happened here because of different circumstances?)

I assume he nearly had a heart attack when he found out the Grey Magister was coincidentally sticking around?

On the one hand, it is utterly terrifying to have the one person on hand who would be dropping the hammer on a Knightly Order if it was determined that a hammer needed dropping. On the other, Mathilde seems non-hostile and as long as she sticks around, any other agents of Imperial authority that come sniffing around are likely to take their cues from her. There's probably gonna be fallout from those twenty odd thousand taxpayers that look like they're not coming home any time soon.

Matter of opinion. They walk into a forest and wrestle a giant wolf until it decides it wants to be their friend. They'd say that it's Ulric that gives them the kickassitude to pull that off, but it's not direct godly intervention.

It's non-canonical.

Honestly, the more I look at at it, the more tempting buttering up to the cult of Ghazull and accepting their vows looks.

Mathilde fully shares her college's views, unfortunately.

So sayth the FAQ:

Dreadful oiks full of high ideals with no practicality whatsoever: Light/Celestial

Even though I would dearaly love us a celestial - they are good at scolarship and can grant all manner of prophesy-based re-rolls and bonuses, even if they are kind of useless inside tunnels.

That is debatable but nevertheless If we pick them we get two more wizards in K8P. Otherwise they'll leave. Unlike Panoramia that's stuck to the halflings and Johann doing his own thing.

I partially agree. Yes, the expansion phase is a danger.

However, if the EIC consolidates into something so powerful that it can influence politics on an Empire level, it is also a danger because it will always be tempted to nudge things to its own benefit.

In fine, if we worry about the EIC, then I would propose that we don't help it expand its trade network to Karak Eight Peaks, and maybe even help set up an independent structure for the trade to keep power distributed.
Wrong way to see it. The EIC is expanding so fast because Stirland has basically no resistance. Outside Stirland they are a medium sized upstart in the big game.

One from one of the poorest provinces.
Distributing power just means its better off ripping off Stirlanders than anything else.

No, whats a GOOD direction to take it in?
Set the example. Prosper the locals while making a profit and see that they get richer so they can buy more of your stuff.
Godammit, 2 Wizards is winning with nary a freaking peep spoken in its favor.
People like Panoramia and Maxmillian.
People don't like Johann much.

Its natural.

Is our relationship with Wulfhart enough that we might show up for regular friendly spars?
*Eyes two century old Greatsword Priest*

Could we bring Panoramia to stirla d with us oun our next visit, I want her to take a look at our land and see if there's anything she knows of that would grow well there.

If anyone would it's a Jade wizard.
And if we happen to visit Anton while we're there... Well that's nice too.

Good analysis on the Winds though not really sold on the Ghur users and I think that Chamon do have a lot to offer, dwarf pride or no.

Hm, will the Steward create a niter factory in Karag Nar without prompting? Well, now that I think about it, she really should.
But my point for Stirland (and thus Zhufbar) stands imho.

We are liable to break into at least some tombs at some point.
All other vows are fine, but this one's a dealbreaker, cause we sure as hell gonna stick Mathilde's nose into some blessed tomb or another, even if it's just exploring or trying to stab some bastard who's hiding there.
