[X] Report: Scouting went as well as could be expected, and I took the liberty of indulging in some sabotage while I was at it. You've already seen my work on the goblin launchers, but I also managed to confirm the Hall of Oaths remained sealed, and got eyes inside the Hall of the Moon. Things there were... Troubling--the Crooked Moon Goblins seem to have an alliance of convenience with at least one group of Skaven, and had prepared a large number of some kind of rat beasts for us. I took the liberty of putting a bullet in the Goblin commander's skull while wearing the illusion of being a Skaven--and the warpstone the Goblin had for teeth blew up when I shot him and wounded the Skaven he was negotating with as an added bonus--but things were a bit too hot to stay put and confirm more than the start of infighting--all I can tell you is that the Goblins there are significantly faster and more determined than they probably should be, and it's something that should be taken into account. Beyond that? I made my way to the King's Gates to see if there was anything I could do to ease the approach, found they had a nasty trap prepared in the form of a false floor with a herd of trolls hidden beneath just past their bolt throwers. I took the liberty of releasing the trolls on them, and they were in the middle of a nasty riot by the time I made good my escape.

@Alectai
We should order the report by what is important, I would order it like this:
1. King's gate defenses and the sabotage we just did there
2. Interrupted a trade deal between Skaven and Goblins in the hall of Moon, killed the goblin negotiating with the Skaven, possibly managed to implicate the Skaven. Goblins likely to have some number of Skaven giant rats
3. Confirmed Hall of Oaths is still sealed
4. Sabotaged the doom diver catapults by destroying the wings

Im not sure how important the Hall of oaths is, so I don't know if it should be higher priority to say

MMm...maybe add "stone" to "trolls", the variation is of some importance as far as the creatures' capabilities.

Not to mention the lead Goblin further into the Karak just got himself shot in the face.
Yeah. Sadly effects of that are really dependent on factors we don't really know.

How succesfull Skavens are going to be in a fight against gobbos? What happened to the giant rats? How quickly Goblins can find a substitute for really not-that-expendable hero unit? Will the resultant chaos of a dorf invasion hide the traces of our activity?

Etcetera. It could result in approximately as much chaos as we achieved in the last update, it could be "merely" dozens to hundreds of dead gobbos and a somewhat less experienced Hero substituting for the one we killed.

Edit: Copied from Redshirtarmy, it's the same actual text as the other votes but split up for better organization.

That seems to be about everything. I don't think we picked up any important specifics (exact goblin numbers or the like), but if we did I imagine they'll also be communicated, so this vote is probably really about tone?

The last time we headed into battle protecting important people they died despite us being a one-woman murdermachine.

[X] Storming the Gates with the Vanguard.
- [X] The Slayers
Might as well go with a group where that technically counts as a win.

Split @Alectai 's vote up a bit into sections, but didn't otherwise change it.

True but it should at least delay any response time and considering that we just neutered their frontal defenses that means that odds are the Dwarves will gain a lot of offensive momentum in this attack, which should help to tip the scales if the Goblins can't form a proper defense before we hit them.

Also I found a song that will be perfect for the Dwarven approach

Would it be possible to pass a message via the Rangers rather than in person, and dive back in to cause some more chaos to delay more reinforcements from arriving before the rest of the dwarves arrive?

I think mentioning that the goblins traded captive orcs has merit? Since there could be possibe strugglers from the chaos Mathilde created and mentioning that the Skaven would have orc slaves will be important later on.

Odds are we are going to be asked follow up questions and clarifications. For instance they could ask about a specific detail that for Mathilde would be inconsequential but for the Dwarves could mean something crucial.

There probably going to be some reason not to delegate this report, but getting back into the action straight away would be pretty delightful.

I'll put that under "Plan Brainwash a Giant servant"
Honestly we wouldn't even need brainwashing, they already work for anyone who provides enough easy food and good booze and as a dwarf friend we can offer the best booze.

We'd be more like the support add you have to focus on in a boss fight or else the boss gets multiple extra healthbars; giving Kragg free resurrections is a pretty insane amount of support capability, (and in the grand hypothetical tradition of trying to help people in authority positions who die on our watch all our options involve being a really late healer). We're more than equipped to deal with the last flavor of tragedy we suffered. I just want it because every little bit helps, and also we'll get to look at and maybe help out with some of the coolest magic things.

Skaven being traded orc slaves is an interesting detail, I agree. Good catch?

@Alectai :Also, Orc prisoners and any idea Mat might have on the defenses and numbers she saw for the Night Goblins main base. She did scout, so she should have some idea how many homes / Goblins were in the cavern at the time. The rat thing is a bit, vague? We saw cages, and Giant Rats. So we know they have giant rants, and we suspect other Skaven or regular Monsters.

Maybe mention that a score of the Skaven were of the rare, armored, disciplined variety. Wasn't just some slaves and a Skaven with a big head. Those were a score of Stormvermin.

EDIT: We don't know how tried Mat is from all that. From casting, skulking and running from her life. Something more sedate might be the right call here. Bodyguard and quick response, I think. Something where she can sort of rest, not fight all the time.

Look, I just want to be at the frontline cleaving nasty griblies apart with a giant sword, which is a goal that aligns almost perfectly with the Slayers' plans.

Our build has reached a point where it is actually something we can do!
