Not really feeling any of the current votes. I'd try to contribute more, but a mild illness (among other things) has made it a bit hard to focus on this kind of thing. :(

Well, I'm not too keen on another professor telling us we should already know this thing that we don't know, but let's go with this one, I guess.

-[X] Ask if she has any advice for tracking oddish, nidoran or Kangashkan, beyond the basics we already know.

I'm pretty sure that most of the people who voted for Scyther after the initial tally are, at best, lurkers who just want to see cool pokemon. Certainly there have been more voters on the poll than there are people who posted more than once during the entire quest. At least twice as many as the turnout of any one vote, even.

wdango certainly implied that we might be able to play silly buggers with catching an extra pokemon and 'losing' it.

I mean, Rock Slide is a problem, jsut not a 4x problem.

I mean, we probably couldn't easily escape a rock slide, but Scyther can fly, so it could escape a lot easier. Plus, we could always return it?
 
Okay, scheduling. Agility training/teamwork practice, talking to Professor Ivy. We still have two days after that. If no one else thinks talking to Elm about equipment is a good idea, how about getting a headstart on after-interview research? That'd be Safari North and Kangaskhan and... maybe Nidoran preliminary? I'm not sure about that being worth a day.
 
I am against traveling though the heavy forest/jungle in the safari zone due to reacently starting to read the pokemon adventures manga.


Can we not go for the goddam shiny mons when we don't have any to begin with?

If the AGI training is supposed to be teamwork practice, maybe it should be framed as teamwork practice rather than training AGI with our partners if they just so happen to be available? That might be more compelling to me than the Ivy interview.

If it helps, I'm not gonna support the vote for trying to grab anything else with the extra pokeballs, personally, but I already made my argument for why we shouldn't fly too close the sun. If people want the shiny more than they fear our wings melting and plummeting into the ocean, then that's how democracies work. /me shrugs.

What if we invite Gary? Like, he's really smart, and he could probably tell us about how to improve our regimen. Ohh, maybe he would see what I'm doing wrong and come over to correct my moves himself... that would involve physical contact... with him... aaaaaaaahhhh

Worth noting that a lot of poisonous bugs and animals cheat by eating poisonous material they are resistant to and concentrating it.
Producing poison is biologically expensive, if you see it used offensively then the poison has a return on investment in the form of food. If used defensively its usually extracted from poisonous food as part of the digestive process of making it safe.

Plants don't do this mostly because they don't usually eat, and they have different channels from animals so its not like the stuff they use to get rid of competitor plants have much to do with the stuff they use to repel animals munching them.

Nidoran probably love to munch on Oddish.
 
I don't think Peck is going to be a Flying-type move in this case? I might be wrong, but QM has put a lot of emphasis on constency and logic on pokémon. Nidoran learning a flying-type move because it has a horn doesn't make that much sense to me? Might be just me though.

In canon, Pokémon spin in the air like a flying drill and use Peck as a flying type move simply based on the fact that it is an attack from the air.

Well my head canon, but still. Who knows how the basic physical moves of Pokémon are categorized in this? Slam, tackle, body slam could all be rolled into one move, with larger Pokémon able to stun? I'm itching to get into the tracking and fighting here!

Got sidetracked designing custom weapons and ammo for mechanics lol.

About half-done with that gonna finish it before I start writing the update. Hope y'all don't mind the wait.
