Absolutely, and confirmed here:Ok, sooo was it said earlier that poisons make Poison types stronger? It appears that both Oddish and Nidoran like to eat poisonous stuff. And the more potent the more they like it. That's important piece of info.
"Sounds good. Probably want to err on the side of excess on dosage if you can afford to, since it's nigh impossible to overdose a Poison-type. That'll give you more room for error on waiting for it to fall asleep, and it'll actually be beneficial for its growth, too
@wdango do we know what effects poison has on development? Does it just improve poison strength, or does it also affect evolution chance and stuff?"The fertiliser should work for Oddish. Juvenile Nidoran tend to adopt a herbivorous diet, so any poisonous fruit or plant should work. The more poisonous, the better. A common trick is to forage for nearby poisonous fruits and then spraying them with a mixture of volatile poisons."
Preoccupied professor is preoccupied."Mhm."
"Thanks, Professor!"
"Mhm."
"I'll be leaving now, okay..?"
"Mhm."
And then you go.
A lot of the questions being asked seem like things Kotone and the other cadets should know IC, by virtue of studying in the university for three years. I mean, what the hell did we even study if we don't know if we can put sleep powders in bottles or not?
You need the dango to answer them first. I don't actually generate those answers.
In Oddish, just Poison strength.@wdango do we know what effects poison has on development? Does it just improve poison strength, or does it also affect evolution chance and stuff?
Does it still have a mouth? If so, what for? Is it only there to prep it for evolution? In Oddish, just Poison strength.
In other species, you don't know.
Oddish doesn't actually eat, btw.
Well, it screams as a defense mechanism when uprooted.Does it still have a mouth? If so, what for? Is it only there to prep it for evolution?
Mhm.
You've straight-up said that you don't have resources to spend right now, and probably won't until after the move. That suggests that it's going to be a bit before the next update, which lowers the urgency level. People aren't super-enthused about the whole training thing (because training can't actually help us for the next hurdle) but they're not comign up with much in the way of questions, either. Personally, I keep getting the impression from what people are saying/writing that our plan could use more information, but it's in a sort of game-esque "increase information numebr on this plan" way, rather than any feelign that the plan itself needs work. We basically know what we need to do on Oddish, and the feedback we've gotten has all been in the form of "Yep. That's basically right. That'll basically work. Maybe tweak this part of it." Our plan for Kangaskhan is... pretty similar, really. I'm sure that if we go into the meeting with the next prof with the right questions we can get a useful tweak or two there, too, but coming up with what sorts of questions to ask, when the plan looks pretty solid to begin with, is not entirely trivial. That leaves me, at least, sort of vaguely hoping that someone else comes up with some good questions to ask that I can maybe bandwagon on.
If I were a cynical man (which oh, look at that, I am), I would suggest that it is because none of the talkers have made anything prominent enough for the lurkers to bandwagon on to.
Now professor Ivy would be a good teacher to get some more feedback from, as finding pokemon will be a big part of some of our challenges.Philena Ivy, Ecology
Always seemingly absentminded and a little bit distant, you've never seen her angry, but if the rumour are true... you really don't want to.
She teaches Survival, Navigation, and First-Aid.
Honestly, I'm not super clear on what we might need to see elm for. If he's in charge of our loadout, a consult about supplies and equipment might be in order, but that's not high on my priorities.Robert Elm, Vice-Chancellor
The man who's in charge of recruitment, he strikes you as friendly and amiable.
Honestly, if you haven't seen the photos, you wouldn't be able to imagine the man in armour and with a gun in his hand. As far as you know, he's in charge of all administrative issues.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind doing a consult with the Archaeology prof at some point.Pierre Sigebert, Archeology
A new member of the faculty. You've never met him in person, only from a distance, since he doesn't actually teach any classes yet. The Archaeology department is brand new, after all. Word is he's preparing a new syllabus that will be rolled out next year.
Now that you mention it, he looks like he's around the same age as Bill... But somehow, he's just got this mysterious aura about him.
But we don't have enough time for all of that, do we?I'm somewhat iffy about asking Ivy about Nidoran and Kangaskhan habits in detail before researching them, as I fear we will end up with the 'do your own basic research' answer again.
I doubt the professor will care. She'll probably say something along the lines of if you have the time to ask me, you have the time to search it up yourself. Her time is worth more than ours.
*flashbacks to professors' snark and my own hopelessness*I doubt the professor will care. She'll probably say something along the lines of if you have the time to ask me, you have the time to search it up yourself. Her time is worth more than ours.
Okay, crazy suggestion here: We're more than ready for Oddish. Silver will get us extra pokéballs. Do we want to research a different pokémon we'd like to catch in the Safari Zone if given the chance?
So if we conveniently run into, like, a Scyther we know what to do to capture it?
I don't specifically remember that rule. That said, it sounds plausible enough, to which I say: Use the pokéball, shrink it, keep it hidden, "find" it again when we're allowed to have more pokémon. Are we a ninja or not? We'd get him arrested or something, we're not allowed to use the extra pokeballs except as extra chances on capture....
Possible. Depends on whether Pokemon need to be taken out and fed or if you can keep them in stasis indefinitely... @wdango?I don't specifically remember that rule.
