[X] Five months.
[X] Yes. She was secretly dating an Elven woman named Genevieve Wells. She has managed to get a letter out to her under a hidden name while making it known it's her. Their relationship is ongoing.
[X] No, neither sister has been in a situation where they were required to kill someone.
[X] Occasionally. She's not as into the violence as her sister is, and doesn't want to cause any more trouble than she needs.

There's most chance of them eventually leaving this lifestyle if there's a relationship that isn't with an outlaw, and if they don't, the conflict is interesting anyway. Also more interesting conflict to have their first kill happen onscreen, and for Kaitlyn to occasionally come on jobs but have a different outlook on it from her sister.

Just as a general heads up:

I may like the idea of a more narrative based quest for this much more so than dice rolling to see how things go. If I change this, the skills the characters have will not change. I will find a way to implement it.

I personally have had not so fun experiences with rolling dice in both quests and my short time playing DnD, and so I'm kind of against hoping to god that the dice don't make one of our characters get their arm blown off by a stick of dynamite.

And yes I realize that we just had two votes on how the dice may be impacted but I'm not trying to have a dice get rolled and Keira shoot herself in the foot because she rolled a 1.

I hope this doesn't upset anyone if I do get rid of dice rolls, as it's because I don't want to screw you guys over because the dice are r00d.

[X] No. She may have eyes on one of her fellow gang members, however.

[X] Croquette the Female Corgi

Well, this looks very interesting

I'll start actually voting on the next choice, don't have a lot of investment here

I kind of feel as though I may not have gone about this last vote as well as I should have.

I also realize that it is indeed Memorial Day weekend.

May I ask for some honesty, did I scare anyone away from voting with the last vote? If so, I'm going to close it and redo it without it being a massive plan vote.

I think having plan voting be either mandatory or not used for each decision should be the way to go, makes voting more straightforward.
TBF, you did say that planned voting was optional.
(Free vote for character skills, parts of their backstory etc.)
Plan voting for naming things like horses/doggo:
i.e. [:p] Plan Corgo the corgi
[:p] name: Corgo
[:p] breed: corgi
[:p] gender: male
[:p] backstory: has a bark that's harder than his bite

Might work better, since we are basically making a new character for the quest to have in the story, after all.

I'm less invested in this vote tbh. Also seems like something that might come up organically.

Final Vote Before We Begin
Alright, I've made up me mind. I would also like to say I'm sorry with that last vote. I got excited for this quest and wanted to get it going.

That last vote both does count, and it doesn't. Keira being in a same sex relationship? That's going to hold true. They'll have been in the gang for only three months.

So, I'm just going to make this our vote, and then make the introduction post after it's settled.

What kind of horse does Keira have, and what did she name him/her?

[ ] Horse Breed / Horse Name.

Since it's likely Keira will have a mustang, how do you guys feel about that image for the horse?

No need to reply, you can just react and I'll know.

Vote Closed.

I rolled a three sided die to determine the name of the horse.

1 - Apollo.
2 - Cleopatra
3 - Sally

I am now working on the first in story update to the quest. Thank you everyone for your patience so far.
OfSpaceandTime threw 1 3-faced dice. Reason: Horse name! Total: 1
1 1

Prologue: A Place to Stay
John's Land.

Septembra 17th, 1885

A soft autumn breeze rolled through the trees, gently pushing the branches and the leaves. The relatively quiet sound of the rustling leaves filled the air. The grass moved back and forth, brushed against by the breeze as it started, and stopped. A large buck stepped out onto the path between the trees, vigilant of his surroundings. The old deer glanced back and forth before he suddenly dashed off the path and back into the foliage.

Down the lane to the south where the buck had been, the source of what had spooked him. Two riders moved at a decent pace on their horses.

The rider on the left rode a beautiful amber champagne fox trotter, while his companion rode on a buckskin mustang.

The man on the fox trotter wore an aging tan hat over his short blonde hair. His grey eyes fixed on the path ahead of the two of them. He wore a light brown duster over his buckskin vest. His face bore the visage of youth, as he had only recently turned old enough to be considered a man.

The elven woman to his right wore a black stalker hat over her black hair, which was down to her shoulders. Vibrant violet eyes gazed back and forth across the trail and into the trees, ever vigilant to find what the pair were looking for. Or perhaps she had a tinge of paranoia. The woman wore a black shotgun coat over a blue vest. The vest she wore was not fully buttoned up, though it appeared as if the woman wasn't too concerned over her attire.

Unlike her blonde companion, she was a little older. She wasn't much into womanhood, but she had been an adult for at least a few years.

"All I'm sayin' is that t'is gang o' ours could use a few more like ya's, and a few more like meself!" The young blonde man spoke, his words held a sing-song brogue, and he continued, "Always on the lookout for a job, we are. Always ready. Now between you and me, the boss is taken a likin' to ya's. Likes that yer' always willin' to go out and help on a job with the lot o' us."

The Elf gave him a sideways glance, her face expressionless as she pulled out a cigarette from her vest pocket. Her gloved hand rose to bring forth a match and she lit it, giving it a few puffs before allowing it to balance between her teeth.

"We're meant to be scouting out ahead of the rest to see if we find somewhere to camp," The woman reminded him with a scowl.

"Sure, sure, Keira, tho' that doesn't mean we can't have ourselves a friendly conversation now does it?" He replied with a charismatic smile.

She simply took her cigarette out of her mouth and blew smoke at him. Her companion let out a hearty chuckle.

"Oh, we both know I can carry an entire conversation on me own, tho' don't we?"

"You're certainly talking enough for the both of us, Liam."

Liam let out another chuckle, "That I am. But you never really do talk much does ya's?"

Her violet eyes gazed uncaringly into his grey eyes. Once again he let out a chuckle.

"You take things too seriously, you do. We ever find a camp for the rest o' them, I'm taking you to the nearest bar!" He smiled at her.

"Thought you'd be more interested in helping set up camp?" She raised an eyebrow, gazing back ahead to the trail ahead of her.

"A fellow like me could never pass up an opportunity fer a drink with a woman like ya's," He responded.

"I'm spoken for." There was a dry monotone to her voice, with a tinge of sadness.

"Oh I know all about that forbidden girl o' yer's, Keira. I know better than to actually try anything. Just tryin' to get a laugh outta ya," Liam's tone had settled down a bit, more seriousness to his voice. He spoke up again, "Thought we mighta found something by now at least. Only thing outta the ordinary we saw so far was that buck."

Keira nodded, leaning forward on her stallion, Apollo, and patting his side as she glanced around. Her horse let out a thankful snort, and she then raised her hand and scratched him behind the ear.

"For bein' a stolen horse, he sure does like you," Liam pointed out.

"That would be Kaitlyn's doing, she's got some kind of gift with animals and she's the one who's gotten his wild ass so calm around me."

"But he sure as shite don't like any ot'er of us, now does he?" Liam questioned with a sly smile as he glanced around, trying to see someplace useful for the gang to camp out.

Keira simply shook her head in response. Apollo's the loyal horse to the two sisters, but he'd buck anyone off who'd try to ride him if they weren't them.

"Blasted place, this is. I'd a hoped to find some fuckin' t'ing, but there ain't but shite. Maybe had yer' sister come wit' us we mighta' found a t'ing by now," There was a tinge of disappointment in Liam's voice, as he spoke he waved his arms through the air, though he remembered to keep the reigns in his hand.

"Two elven women on one horse?" Keira questioned, blowing smoke out of her nostrils with a slight grin on her face.

"Oh, so now ya smile, does ya's? Fuckin' Hell, you. Won't laugh at me own jokes but when you go making a joke it's fucking better than gold it is," Liam laughed, pulling on the reigns to his horse as they came across a split in the trail.

The pair of outlaws took a glance down each path. The path towards the east looked… Promising, they supposed. All they could see was more trees. The path towards the west was a little better. There were more trees, though from what they could tell there was what looked to be an abandoned old house.

The pair looked at each other and then back down the path.

Which way do they go?

[ ] East, down the path that could lead to a clearing for the camp.

[ ] West, towards the seemingly abandoned house.

Edit: Feel free to criticise Liam's accent. It is meant to be Irish. If you feel I am showing it too much, please feel free to let me know. I'd like to write the accent for him and some of the others, but I also don't want to accidentally stereotype.

Fortune favors the bold! Two of us and only one house, more than a fair fight.

[X] West, towards the seemingly abandoned house.

I'm here for potential looting. Or fighting. Or scaring. Action.

I have a thing for abandoned houses, okay?
Seriously.
Really like them.
