[X] "Don't you think that's kinda personal?"
-[X] Only answer if she changes track.
-[X] Tell the truth
-[X] but lie about your invincibility
I'm a bit leery of a blanket vote to tell the truth about everything regarding our gaining wings just because a stranger decides to be slightly nicer and more polite in their attempt to pump information out of us for completely unknown reasons. It'll be interesting if it passes, though, so not too worried about it.
My thought is we learn to lie by omission while seeming helpful and transparent as long as we know nothing. We have a potential, if sketchy, ally and we dont want to have her after us or suspecting us of subterfuge before we have our bearings

Wings:
[X]Plan Wsyteria: We just really don't know much! We have wings now? We haven't noticed anything else really weird since we got them?
"Interesting," the woman says. She, of course, sounding like nothing, does not sound interested. "Did something particular happen that precipitated their appearance?"
"Don't you think that's kinda personal?" Maybe it was the day you had, with people staring at your wings, but you're not sure this is the conversation you want to be having.
"I suppose it is." She doesn't sound really apologetic at all, but she does back up a bit. "May I ask if you like them?"
What sort of question is that? You twist to look at your wings a bit, stretching them out. "They're pretty," you tell her honestly. "They catch a lot of attention..." You're still not really sure if that is a good thing, although the nearly-$300 in your pocket is arguing on the positive side of things. "And they, uh, they feel good." That doesn't really encompass it, but you're sort of at a loss for words.
"They are definitely pretty," she agrees. "Have you found any other side effects?"
I can survive being hit with a building. You don't think you want to say that; you don't think you want anyone to know that. "I really haven't noticed anything strange since I got the wings," you demur. "But they're really cool."
"They are, yes." She has so little tone to her voice she might as well be a robot. "Tell me, would you be willing to come in to our office for some tests?"
"What sort of tests?"
"Just standard tests, getting a baseline for your new -- appendages. An X-ray, probably, maybe an MRI?"
Her toneless voice sounds strange when she tries to be casual.
[ ] Sure, when I'm not working.

[ ] No, are you kidding me?

How do you figure? It seems to me if she's being this sketchy in a five minute phone call, there might well be a point to not continuing the association.

I want to figure out this lady's angle but she's really not being forthcoming in a way that makes me think she's not going to be useful.
You have standard tests for angels? you want to ask, but she's really creeping you out. There's a temptation here -- not the tests, but most people give money for scientific studies, right?
But your common sense, such as it is, reasserts itself.
She hasn't asked about parental consent, and you know you don't look -- even as an angel -- definitely over 18. You have to avoid cops for just that reason. Well, you did. You're not sure how they'll handle you now that you're shiny and winged, but you'd really rather not find out.
Although you can probably run faster now. Right?
You don't want to say any of that to her.
"Sorry," you manage, "I wasn't raised to believe in doctors. I mean, rays, right? Good luck though!" You pull the phone away just enough.
"Bye!" And... end call.
Well.
Standard tests.
That does not sound promising.
You still have some time before Bethel will be here to open the cafe.
Time enough for two actions or so, or one open-ended one.
