[X] Approach on foot. It'll be boring, but help you avoid potential accusations of stalking... even if they're entirely true.

I'm guessing that he really likes full explanations. I was worried that giving him a lecture about Digimon care was too much, but he probably feels more comfortable knowing what to do and what's going on than being told to wing it.
My spotty memories of Digimon 01 was that Joe is usually the one giving a lecture and then nobody listens to him.

I know I always prefer to have the full explanation of something important, and I'm a Joe by name. Not that that, really, means anything in this situation...

I'm also one of those people who don't like to lie and generally don't have any reason to keep something secret; I won't blurt stuff out, but I'm not going to be cagey if someone asks me directly.

So, yay for long desert treks?

Soon... soon, I will have more to write about than just sand. One day, that day will come.

A Careful Approach
...Well, subtlety is probably a good idea, you can agree on that much. Particularly with what you've learned about the Dark Network. Even if whoever wrote that note was flat-out insane, it's a good reminder of the fact that there are enemies in this world. And that maybe you shouldn't provoke them with a giant firebird.

Also, you don't want Piximon to have reason to believe you burned down his forest. Even though you totally did. You don't need more enemies.

You still sort of wish you could fly in... but you've never tried a several day long flight before. And, somehow, you don't think that the desert is a good place to start on that.

"I guess that means we're walking tomorrow..." You sigh. Sure, you'll still probably get there in relatively good time, but this place is a lot more bearable when you don't have to actually walk through it. "I should get to bed early, then." As much as it matters, when your partner Digimon is the world's most insufferable morning person, but the sentiment is there.

Joe still seems a bit perturbed at how casually you're taking all this, though it's nowhere near as bad as it was earlier in the week. You guess he's just starting to get used to all this.

Izzy, meanwhile, takes Tentomon reminding him how much the glow from the runes lights up the desert to finally turn it off and go to sleep. Typical Izzy.

...Well, you shouldn't stay up too late. You've got a long walk ahead of you tomorrow, and you need to be well-rested for it.

Even as much as you wish you didn't have to do this.

Thankfully, Piximon hasn't moved the portal to his pocket dimension overnight. You were sort of worried about that.

"Was that really such a big concern?" Joe asks. You shrug.

"Well, it wouldn't be all that convenient. Izzy, put that computer away, you're going to trip over a Scorpiomon or something." Which is, you know, not something you want, really.

Izzy grumbles a bit, but he does still stow his laptop, so you're taking that as a victory for yourself.

"Are we there yet?" Oh, yes, and Tentomon's decided to be that type of annoying today. Sometimes, you wish being a DigiDestined came with a paycheck. It'd certainly make you feel a good bit more charitable about putting up with this kind of thing.

"Not for another... I'd say fifteen minutes," His partner replies, acting not even slightly inconvenienced by it. You don't know what kind of things he's doing with that computer, but if it's entertaining, he could at least share it with you!

"You're sure about that?"

Biyomon sighs. "We've done a lot of walking through this desert, Joe."

"I've been walking," You correct her. "You have wings."

"Same difference!" Not really. If one set of limbs gets tired, she can just switch to using the other one.

...Well, you suppose you should be glad Piximon knows you, otherwise you'd be more than a little hesitant about approaching an Ultimate Digimon like this. Even now, you're still fairly reluctant. Though that bit may just be the property damage.

How will you act when you approach Piximon anyway?

[ ] Pull out everything that Daigo has ever taught you. Just in case he put a few things together about why the forest burned down.

I have this odd feeling we'll be asking him for a favor. So best to be polite. And it has been awhile since we last saw each other.

I think this one is a good balance between "Hide that Sora burned down the forest!" and "What if we need to ask him a favor?".

Act casual, and maybe it'll turn out okay. Until it doesn't.

Let's go see Piximon again, though this time without the help of someone apprenticed under Daigo.

Second Meetings
Portals aren't easy to see, small pink Digimon are difficult to find, and if Joe ever tries to sing again, you will personally choke him with a sock.

You told him as much, too. He doesn't seem to know if you're serious or not, and you don't plan on telling him. It's not really important, so long as he no longer makes any sounds similar to a dying cat.

Izzy and the Digimon completely ignore the two of you. You still aren't sure if that's a good thing or not. "Izzy, should I go on ahead?" Tentomon asks his partner. "It would be rude to just show up all at once."

"That seems like a good idea," He nods. "Go ahead, warn him we're coming... maybe come back after, though. We don't have a lot of defenses as it is."

"Hey, you don't think I can manage?" You think Biyomon would pout, if it were possible for her to do so with a beak. She's tried, before, it never worked. "I'll have you know that nobody wants to fight me in this desert!" You think that's due more to the heat than anything else, but you wouldn't want to ruin her fun.

"What if the enemy has heat resistance?" No, you'll just let Izzy do that for you.

"That- I- Irrelevant!"

"Seems pretty relevant to me," Joe states, apparently deciding that this is a better topic of conversation than the possibility of being murdered with his own footwear.

...Honestly, you don't blame him.

"I think a lot of things in the desert would have to have heat resistance," The blue-haired boy continues. "With all this sun, sand... How would you be able to get very far, if you couldn't handle the climate?"

That is actually an excellent point, though you think the question is directed more at yourselves than the hypothetical enemy Digimon, so you just shrug. Honestly, you've never thought about it, and that's probably a good thing.

"That is true, for the most part," Izzy agrees. "Though we haven't run into a lot of Digimon here, so there's no way to know for sure." Technically, you could have come across a lot more Digimon than you did, but TK had a Crest to find and charging a trail of Monochromon is generally agreed upon to be suicide.

"So you can't say I can't do anything!" Biyomon proclaims, as though that were enough to win an argument. In her mind, it might very well be.

"I'm back!" Tentomon buzzes. You never did figure out just when he left. Probably flew off as soon as his partner gave him permission. That sounds like him. "And look who I brought!" And, yes, he has Piximon.

The little Ultimate takes a look over all of you. "Well, well, well! I didn't expect you to come by again so quickly. And who's this?"

"This is Joe," You explain. "Partner to Gomamon. Things happened, and we were separated from the rest of the DigiDestined. We ended up in the Analog World for a while, and we figured we could pick him up while we were there. We're currently trying to figure out what happened to everyone else, but..." Well, deserts aren't very good for looking for clues, and you're sure Piximon knows this. He lives here, after all.

"I see, I see. Well, last I heard, the DigiDestined were messing up the plans of an evil Locomon in the south, though that was over a month ago. I honestly do not know where they would be by now." So, he's saying you didn't have to come back to the desert. Brilliant. Also, something tells you that was entirely Tai's idea.

But this was the one idea you had, so... you guess you're going south. And you'll be out of the desert, hopefully for good. "I see. Thank you for the information, that... helps. A lot." No more sand!

"Oh, it's not a problem, for DigiDestined like yourselves." He waves it off. Still, you think back to the forest burning, and can't help but feel a little insecure about it.

[ ] Ask if there's anything you can do for him, while you're here.

[ ] Warn him about the possibility of Machinedramon.

[ ] Just go. You can finally leave the desert!

[X] Warn him about the possibility of Machinedramon.

I don't really want to stick around any longer if he needs help with something. It might be a good idea to have someone else aware that Machinedramon was interested in the Dark Network though, especially since Izzy said that someone could potentially put it back together if they really knew what they were doing.

[X] Warn him about the possibility of Machinedramon.

I don't mind the helping him out option, though yeah we need to keep moving after that
