[X]: With a focus on the help i got; both from the carriage, the people rushing to help, and of course from Fudo Myo-o, whose mantra drove the demon away.
This is a whole new level of gossip.
They may have leveled up from court women to mothers talking about how cute their children are together.
Its also the apparent implication that smiling is rare enough that its worth speculating on.[X]: With a focus on how terrifying the demon was, how bloody everything was, and how afraid i was as i drove it back.

Hhhmm, yes very, at the risk of imposing. I'm leaving for work in a few mins and the doc hasn't fully loaded, so I'm not even sure how many pages that is.
I'm not sure if you just had that lying around, in which case, hey, awesome, or if i'm getting people to look up heian merriage traditions on their own, which, also, awesome.
Be careful asking this question, Xander quest on SV has spent 9(?) years and over that time the characters got to age 8.First, do you want to spend more time 'in the moment' after this - go see if you can find Tomiko, go pray, whatever - or would you rather we go skip further ahead past more childhood stuff? I ask because i don't want to give you options you dont' really care about if you'd just get more training and skip further ahead to 'fun' parts, and i also don't want to just skip over things if you want to slow down and interact with them, obviously.
Stupid votes like "how do you blow out the candles on your birthday cake" are a big part of that as well. As long as that kind of thing doesn't happen, and we get at least some summarizing, it should be okay.Be careful asking this question, Xander quest on SV has spent 9(?) years and over that time the characters got to age 8.
I'm going to trust your best judgement to find the most interesting things for us to do here. As you've said, this is pretty niche so I think trusting someone who knows more about history is better than making a wild guess on my part.
I wouldn't mind a bit of an epilogue to the current arc, but for the most part I'm fine with skipping to whenever you think interesting stuff picks up again.First, do you want to spend more time 'in the moment' after this - go see if you can find Tomiko, go pray, whatever - or would you rather we go skip further ahead past more childhood stuff? And thank you for writing these updates. It's good content.Lastly, i want to thank you for participating in my incredibly niche interest here, and for keeping up with it so far - it's really enjoyable, and the downward spiral in numbers i'd expected hasn't happened, which also is the reason why i keep writing updates even on days i'd really much rather just be playing warframe. Also, lurkers, i love you too!
The world and lore are fascinating, and your writing is great so even if I'm not familiar with the time period and culture, it's still a blast to read.
Childhood is the foundation for personality, but you don't have enough freedom to truly do what you want. So I'd be happier with snippets from now until when he's considered adult rather than week by week roleplay.
Perhaps choose time periods or lessons you think would contribute greatly to his skills and personality and play through those, perhaps with votes for the timeskip.
However, like I said, the world, and your writing is going to keep me here even if you decide to do it all differently than I'd prefer.
An excellent question! I was planning to open up questions after the next update for that sort of thing, but i'll be sure to include that one in it.Talking about questions, does our father have any idea what exactly the bird thing that attacked us was?
Okay, so, I'll begin working on the update later today, which means we'll update tonight or tomorrow. But before that, I want to ask you a few things.
First, do you want to spend more time 'in the moment' after this - go see if you can find Tomiko, go pray, whatever - or would you rather we go skip further ahead past more childhood stuff? But who could have known we'd be out then... just Tomiko... and everyone we asked for poetry assistance... and everyone those gossips told."Do you know what the creature was?" you ask him. He furrows his brows. "I am… uncertain. A demon of some sort, clearly; divinations will reveal more. Currently, i fear that it is a shikigami." Shikigami, as you well known, are spirits conjured or bound by onmyoji for specific tasks.
Not too rare, it seems, as this passage repeats the one from the last week almost word for word."I'm very proud of you," he tells you. "While is am… less than happy that you gave away the protection i gave you, protecting Tomiko-chan was noble, and keeping your head together enough to perform the Fudō Myō-ō mantra required great bravery."
You blush at the praise, and smile - it is a rare thing for you, and very high praise indeed.
"Son. I am incredibly proud of what you did. Tomiko tells us that you awoke the spirit of the cart, and managed to drive the demon away with a mantra." His brow furrows. "And though i am less pleased that you put yourself in danger by giving away the talisman, I am still proud that you would protect others."
You nod, blushing. It is fairly rare for your father, or anyone, to praise you like that.
