"Do you still feel sad?" Master Yen Sid asks.
You recall about the incident that costed your parents' lives. You sniffle before you say, "Yes."
"What do you want to do about it?" He asks again.
You mull over his question for a moment before you answer, "I want to stop people from feeling this sadness. Just me is enough." You look down, looking on your palms. "I don't want to see people being sad, because it hurts a lot..." You clench your hands into fists. "I... I don't know how, but I know I'll find a way..."
Both Master Yen Sid and Mickey look at you, and as you look at Mickey's eyes, you see a hint of pride in them. He gives you a gentle smile as he pats you. Feeling his gloved hand touching the top of your head comforts you greatly.
"I see..." Master Yen Sid says, stroking his long beard. "I am sure you'll find a way someday, little one. Now..." He looks at both Mickey and you. "Little Minako will be living here with me, so I shall take her as my pupil. Still..." Eyeing Mickey, he adds, "Mickey, considering that you were the one who found her, you are still responsible for her whole being."
Mickey blinks in confusion. "Huh? What do you mean, Master Yen Sid?"
Closing his eyes, the elderly man speaks to Mickey. "You are now a Keyblade Master, which means that it is about time for you to take in an apprentice. While little Minako here will be under my tutelage, her true teacher will be you, Mickey." Then, wizened man reopens his eyes as he continues, "Also, taking in an apprentice may bring you respite that you truly need right now." He softens his gaze as he continues addressing Mickey. "Throwing yourself headlong into danger will not mend your broken heart. And remember, Mickey, that you are a King. The weight of your crown ought to remind you of your responsibility and your importance to your kingdom. It is unbecoming for a King to put himself in harm's way," Master Yen Sid gently chides his former pupil.
"I... I know that..." Mickey lowers his head as if in shame.
You look at Mickey. "Is Mr. Mousey feeling sad too?" You ask.
Both Master Yen Sid and Mickey look at you before the old master speaks, "Minako, a few months ago, something terrible had happened to Mickey's friends." He glances at Mickey before he continues, "It was something that was out of his control, but he still blames himself for it, no matter how much I try to convince him otherwise."
"..." Mickey just remains silent, sadness seems palpable in his eyes.
"So, Mr. Mousey too lost people he loves?" You head over to Mickey before you lower yourself, putting yourself on your knees. You are now looking into Mickey's eyes. "Then we are the same. Both of us lost the people we love..." Then, you wrap your arms around the mouse King, hugging him.
"Minako?" Mickey seems surprised upon being hugged.
"It hurts..." You speak softly. "Losing them hurts a lot. Does losing your friends hurt to you too, Mr. Mousey?"
"...Yes," Mickey answers. "I... I couldn't find a way to save them..." Then, he gently removes himself from your embrace, smiling at you. "Still, thanks, Minako. I'm feeling much better now."
"I'm glad to help!" You giggle.
Even Master Yen Sid smiles before he says, "Now, will you take her as your apprentice, Mickey?"
Mickey looks at his former master's face before he nods. "Well, I guess it won't hurt to try."
"Very well," Master Yen Sid nods. "Now, perform the Inheritance Ceremony. Through the simple act of taking, the wielder she shall one day be."
Mickey nods before he holds out his hand. Then, the odd-shaped sword that you saw at that time appeared in his hand. You stare at the sword, giving it a curious look.
"This is a Keyblade," Mickey says, explaining to you what the sword really is. "Well, as ya can see, it's a key that is also a blade, or something," he shrugs. "This one doesn't have a sharp edge, though. Well, it's true purpose is to lock or unlock any lock, and it can seal or unlock the barriers between worlds."
"Can it do magic?" You ask.
"Well, yeah," Mickey nods. "We can do lotsa stuff with a Keyblade," he tells you with a smile.
"Alright," you say, nodding. You're still a child, after all. The idea of using magic sure is very interesting. "I wanna wield a Keyblade too!"
"Okay!" Mickey holds the Keyblade on its blade while its hilt is pointed at you. "In your hand, take this key."
You hold the hilt of the Keyblade. You feel a slight jolt when you hold the hilt.
"So long as you have the makings, then through this simple act of taking, its wielder you shall one day be," Mickey solemnly recites. It sounds important, so you don't interrupt him. "And I shall be with you, friend - no ocean will contain you then. No more borders around, or below, or above, so long as you champion the ones you love."
"Champion the ones... I love...?" You say.
Mickey smiles at you. "Only those with a strong heart are capable of wielding a Keyblade. It may take some time, but I'm sure that one day you'll be able to wield one," he reassures you.
"Mmm!" You nods.
Master Yen Sid clears his throat, getting your attention to him. "Now that you are Mickey's apprentice, your progress will be monitored by him as he will visit here frequently. Please be noted that sometimes, trying to make a Keyblade appear may take you quite a long time," you pout when you hear that. "But, I am sure that with proper guidance, you will be able to manifest one as soon as possible." You smile upon hearing that.
"I'll remember that!" You tell the old master. "Thank you, Mr. Yen Sid!"
Master Yen Sid smiles. "You are welcome, little one."
Mickey smiles upon hearing your cheerful voice, as if relieved that your spirit has been lifted. His Keyblade vanishes into nothingness before he takes out a trinket from his pocket. "Well, I guess I should be going now. Minnie's gonna get mad at me if I don't show up for dinner tonight..."
You look at Mickey, saddened that he is about to depart soon. "Are you leaving already, Mr. Mousey?"
"Afraid so, Minako," Mickey says apologetically. "Don't worry, though. I'll make sure to come back here soon."
Hearing his promise, you smile brightly at the mouse King. "Mmm!!"
"Good girl. Now, I'm off! See you in a couple of days!" And with that Mickey makes his way out of the tower. Then, there is a flash of light outside the tower. You check from the window and see that he's already gone.
"Aw... he's gone already..." you whine. Master Yen Sid steps next to you before he brings his hand onto your head.
"Like he said, he'll be back soon. Now... while Mickey is formally your teacher, I will be in charge of teaching you about what Mickey had learned from me," Master Yen Sid informs you. "There is not much you can do here, but I will make sure to accommodate you, giving you all the necessary things."
Then, the old master turns around. "Now, I have something else to do in my study. You are free to do whatever you want, little Minako. If you wish to read something, there is a library. Also, I have made sure to set up some wards all around my tower to ensure that you will always be safe, so you are free to explore the tower. And as of right now, your bedroom has been prepared for you if you wish to continue with your sleep." He gives you a small smile. "It is your choice, after all."

Alright, here's the new update for this quest. Finally, there's something different in this reboot where you choose to stay at the Mysterious Tower instead of following Mickey to Disney Castle. Well, what do you want Minako to do next? You can do some write-ins, of course, and I'll see if it can fit the story or not. So, please vote, everyone! We need more participation in order to keep this quest alive!
