The smell of rotten flesh and iron permeated the air. Old wood stained with dry blood. Officers surveying the ancient building as they hauled whatever was left of the victim to a police laboratory in Winnipeg.
The victim can't be called human anymore. It doesn't even have the small mercy of being called a rotting corpse. It was merely a pile of flesh, pounded, grinded and thrown carelessly around the room.
It took a while for the police to believe, longer to come, but took little to scar them. The only reason anyone could've called it a person was the victim's skin, perfectly kept intact with no signs of blemishes nor cuts save for one clean slice across the back and the nails that were skewered into the hands and feet pinning them into the wall and forming a cross.
The victim was named Nancy Fern. A simple women at the age of 54 who ran a small but dependable proprietorship that give sound financial advice.
She was the fourth person to die this month.
She was but another person in a series of murders that have been hanging over the quiet town of Fahrenheit, Manitoba. Four people with seemingly no connection to each other have died within weeks of each other's deaths.
Such tragedy not only reached the ears of the media, but also the hearts of five young teens; a group of chosen few whose sense of justice burned with a desire stop whoever perpetrated such crimes. Fate itself weaving a tale of the most depraved of evil vs the highest scions of justice as the five teens struggled to reclaim the peace they once had.
You are not one of those chosen few. You're not even a major player behind the machinations of the crime nor even a minor factor. You're just some random Jill or Joe who so happens to lived in that very town.
So unfortunately for you, fate had just dropped the script and by dropped we meant dropped it in a paper shredder, twice.
So, through some horrible luck on your side you been thrown into the thick of it. But maybe, just maybe, your involvement just might change the entire course of this tale, thus revealing the hidden darkness of the town.
Maybe. It's very likely that you'll die.
So… Nameless Schmuck… Looks like you'll get a bigger role in this play; even minor characters have a name so you'll need one.
