Lord Freeza. Simply speaking his name will inspire terror and supplication across the universe. Tyrannical, capricious and strong enough to destroy entire planets with a snap of his fingers, Lord Freeza has every right to the title Emperor of the Universe.
However, even Lord Freeza, with all his strength, cannot be in more than one place at once. And so the job of keeping his empire in check and afraid, as well as expanding it to new planets, falls to the Freeza Force. Lord Freeza's personal army, the Freeza force recruits from all species and from all planets. Under Freeza's rule, the idea of individual species has nearly died out. Rather, there are only two types of people anymore: those who obey Freeza's orders and those who die defying them.
In truth, Lord Freeza sees his army less as dedicated soldiers and more as a large selection of tools to make his life that much easier. And naturally, should those tools fail to do their jobs correctly, they will be discarded and replaced. After all, it isn't as if Freeza needs to look far to replace a few soldiers when he has a majority of the four galaxies under his control.
Still, that isn't to say there aren't some upsides to being a member of the Freeza Force. So long as you obey orders and perform adequately, some of the great riches that result from planetary trade will find their way into your pocket. And for those with the cunning, ambition and, most importantly, power to seize opportunity, even greater rewards and prestige can be earned.
You are a soldier among the Freeza force, starting at the bottom. But you don't plan on staying there long. You will fight and fight and win, again and again, until you rise to the top. Although the struggle may be long and hard, eventually you will find yourself among the great soldiers of the Freeza Force, like Zarbon and Dodoria. Maybe you'll even earn a spot on the Ginyu Force. This is the promise you've made for yourself: to become stronger and stronger, until even Lord Freeza himself takes notice. But for now, you start at the bottom.
First things first, let's find out who you are exactly.
NAME - Try to make sure your name follows your race's naming conventions. For example, if you're a Saiyan, make sure your name is some sort of vegetable pun.
[] Write in.
GENDER - Self-explanatory, I hope.
[] Male
[] Female
SPECIES - There are many, many species that have fallen under Lord Freeza's rule. A small selection of them are provided as options here. Your species determines your starting abilities and aspects of your background.
[] Saiyan - Natural born warriors with pale skin, simian-like tails and spikey hair that doesn't change from the day they are born to the day they die. As a Saiyan, you have the ability to turn into a giant monkey by looking at the moon and every time you get beaten to near-death and heal, you get a power boost, but your tail can serve as a weak point. Also, there's some nonsense legend about a Super Saiyan, but that's probably just something your ancestors made up, right? Also also, most of your race is dead.
[] Namekian - The planet Namek is many things: Serene, beautiful, peaceful… and boring as Hifl. As a member of the Warrior Caste, such a boring planet was driven you insane, so you 'borrowed' one of the few spaceships on the planet and went looking for adventure, which is how you encountered the Freeza Force. As a Namekian, you possess high speed regeneration, enhanced hearing and the best power of all: STRETCHY ARMS!
[] Android - Sometimes the best soldiers aren't born, they're built. On some planet somewhere, some genius scientist decided to make a super fighting robot and thus, you were created. As an Android, your power level isn't determined by training or stupid meatbag biology but good old fashioned SCIENCE! The limits of your upgrades are determined by the parts you can afford and the intelligence the scientists you have working for you. Also, your energy levels won't be detectable, either naturally or by scouters, and as an AI, if your body gets destroyed beyond repair, you can upload yourself to a new one.
[] Yautja - Better known as Predators, this species has a strong tribal tradition that places great emphasis on hunting strong pray, including other sentient species. As their skills and ruthlessness have proved very useful to Lord Freeza, the Predators have been allowed to keep their culture relatively intact. As a Predator, you're big, strong and very good at tracking prey. You also start off with all of a Predator's traditional weapons and tools.
[] Asari - A blue-skinned, mono-gendered race, the Asari are known for three major things across the galaxy: their long life spans, the ability to use so-called 'Biotics' and their capability of breeding with anything. Will that last one tends to get them stereo-typed as… let's say 'sexually enthusiastic', their Biotics and generally higher level of experience can also make them strong warriors. As an Asari, you have your Biotics, which start off as mostly general telekinesis techniques but with training can develop into a wide variety of dangerous effects. Oh, also, some Asari can absorb your brain during sex, so there's that.
[] Pony - One of the few non-humanoid but still sentient species in the universe, Pony's are typically friendly, cheerful and peaceful. How they've survived under Freeza's rule is anyone's guess. Ponies are a naturally magical race and every pony has something something called a cutie mark, a magical tattoo on their flank that indicates a specific skill that they're particularly good at. Other than that, Ponies are divided into three subspecies and, similar to the legend of the Super Saiyan, they have tales of an Alicorn, which combines the traits of all three. No evidence of such a thing actually exists though.
-[] Pegasus - Ponies with wings, the main advantage of being a pegasus is being able to fly naturally. Duh. Other than that, Pegasuses can manipulate the weather with their bare hooves and with training, they can achieve speeds that rival the fastest beings in the universe.
-[] Earth Pony - Ponies that look like ponies and nothing else. Earth Ponies have a strong connection with the earth, which they mostly use for farming and mining. However, some Earth Ponies can learn to use that connection to enhance their already great strength.
-[] Unicorn - Ponies with horns, Unicorns are the most blatantly magical of the three subspecies. Their horns serve as magical focus points, which they use to cast spells. Most ponies just know a few basic spells and a few more based on their cutie mark, but with dedication and training, they can learn a wide variety of spells for every situation.
[] Groot - A race of tree people with a love for small, furry creatures. Few Goots ever leave their home planet, preferring to stick close to home and do tree things. However, that doesn't mean that they can't be strong warriors. As a Goot, your naturally large and strong, with a somewhat limited ability to manipulate your own body. Also, you can regenerate from a single twig given enough time. Oh the down side, you can only say three words: "I am Groot."
[] Skrull - A species with green skin, pointy ears and weird chins, the Skrulls used their natural ability to shape shift to build their own burgeoning galactic empire before Freeza came along. A race that prefers infiltration and manipulation to direct combat most of the time, that doesn't prevent Skrulls from being vicious in combat when necessary. As a Skrull, you have the ability to change your form into any living being with four limbs and a head, provided you're of similar size. However, you can't mimic any special abilities, at least, not at first.
[] Tamaranean - You would be hard pressed to find a species as free with their emotions as the Tamaraneans. Members of this orange skinned, red haired species are capable of the brightest optimism, the deepest sorrows and the most destructive of rages. More particularly, their emotions are something they draw strength from and are vital to using their natural powers. As a Tamaranean, you can naturally fly and fire energy blasts, the strength of which is decided by your emotions at the time.
[] Martian - It's rare, but sometimes there are cases of planetary destruction that aren't caused by Lord Freeza. For example, long ago the planet of the Martians suffered a great fiery cataclysm that wiped out most of the species. The survivors fled to space and eventually the location of their home planet was lost to time. As a Martian, you have nearly unlimited shapeshifting ability, as well as natural telepathy and the ability to phase through solid objects. On the down side, you have a crippling case of pyrophobia, which can send you into a catatonic wreck.
[] Vulcan - Stern and reserved, the pointy eared Vulcans value logic above all else. While a bit stronger than the average galactic citizen and capable of reading minds through physical contact, the truth strength of a Vulcan is their great and vast Intellect. As a Vulan, you will have the ability to not just punch your problems but also study them and engineer solutions with the powers of technobabble.
[] Wookie - Wookies are really damn tall and really damn hairy. Due to their beasial appearance and inability to speak without snarling, growling or roaring, Wookies suffer a reputation as dumb muscle. And while they are very, very strong, Wookies can be just as smart as anybody else. Also, they have a reputation for ripping arms off when they get mad. As a Wookie, you're really damn strong. Also, you might be sensitive to this thing called the Force, but that's probably a bunch of mystic mumbo jumbo.
[] Write in - With so many species subjugated by Lord Freeza, it would be impossible to list out them all out here. Feel free to pick any race of alien out there, so long as they're sentient and at least mostly humanoid. Yes, I know Ponies aren't humanoid. I don't care, shut up.
MOTIVATION - What drives you to join the Freeza force and rise through the ranks? For what purpose are you going on this quest? This is pretty important, so it's good to be clear.
[] Revenge - Freeza has killed a lot of People. A lot of people. Unfortunately, you cared about at least some of those people. With your friends and family taken from you, your goal is to get close enough Freeza that you can try to kill him, and get strong enough to succeed when you do.
[] Self-interest - You honestly couldn't care less about the millions of people enslaved or killed by Lord Freeza or his army. All you care about is you and as long as you're getting paid, you'll follow any orders given to you. Of course, that's provided you'll get to live to spend that pay check...
[] Loyalty - You're one of those few that actually respects and admires Lord Freeza. What a weirdo. It's all because, at some point in the past, Lord Freeza himself picked you out as having potential above that of your peers. Naturally, you can't let Lord Freeza down after that and now you want to prove yourself worthy of his notice.
[] Fear - Your motivation is something you have in common with the majority of Freeza Forces: a deep, unrelenting terror of Freeza's unbelievable strength. However, where most of Freeza's troops try to survive by going unnoticed and avoiding Freeza's rath, you have a different strategy. You plan on proving yourself so useful and invaluable that when Freeza gets angry, he'll kill other people instead of you.
[] Write in - Perhaps you have a different motivation in mind? Well, that's fine. Just try to sum it up in one word and then provide a more in depth description just a few sentences long.
Hey guys, what's up? I'm RexHeller and welcome to Freeza Mook Quest. Some of you may be familiar with my less than stellar track record with quest. I make no promises this time on how long I'll keep going. HOWEVER, the reason I'm writing this is to get back into writing after way to long wallowing in my poor self-discipline. My aim for this quest is consistency and productivity. I want to get back into writing regularly and I'll try my best to keep this quest going.
Anyway, VOTING WILL BE BY PLAN. I know this isn't always the best option, but I'm working with what I got here.
Have fun guys and remember: the more discussion that happens and the more feedback I get, the more invested I get in continuing.
