Not naturally. Death doesn't have Youki so he can't sense when Yoma are hiding. However, this works in your favor as Yoma and Claymores won't be able to sense him or use any abilities that focus on controlling your opponent's Youki. There will be plenty of things you can use to get around this though. Teaming up with a Claymore is one of them.

Edit: I also went ahead and updated the status sheet.

Also, don't worry. I'm not gonna pull that, "Ha! Gotcha, it's a Yoma!" thing all the time. And I'll leave hints behind in the form of invisitext when applicable. Won't be always, but it'll be there.

I don't suppose we could just rip out the heart of one of our targets and use it as a Youki detector?

You.....could. But it would require some finessing and help with someone who's adept at not only keeping body parts alive, but putting enough Youki into them to make it work.

Oh, then yeah that'll work. Chance they'll come back, but it'll work.

I like the idea of this one, giving a show of the duality of death, being both vicious and compassionate at times.

This option is hilarious, since he along with the other horsemen. Are The one's who killed all the other nephilim.

Perfect.

We can make a lesser detector if the chance comes up, such as if we're in a city where a Claymore will definitely be present. Otherwise, I think our options for diplomacy with the local ruling bodies will be limited until we get the still beating heart of one of our targets a proper Youki detector.

We can just trim off the growths every morning, maybe some regular torture to keep the heart compliant.

I haven't played nor watched anything related to Darksiders 3, so I'm not going to assume anything.

Great game and the strife thing
So Strife shows up near the beginning, disguised as a human with a yellow hood named Jones.
He is helping protect some humans with some of the makers, particularly Ulthane.
And you only find out it's him in the very last cut-scene, where he shoots a bunch of demons. there is nothing about strife and death disliking each other

I think I may have missed something. What would he stand to gain by keeping the pretence and missing on the meal? There were 4 sets of footptints, so he was a part of the same pack. If they thought they were alone, why the elaborate ruse?

Also, was there any indication in the text that whoever died was the girl's family? I don't think I noticed one. Was it the man who got eaten, or the shapeshifter? It would make some sense if it were the latter, but then, how would he keep his secret, and more importantly, why did he bring his sister (?) along in the first place?

The Yoma had basically been feeding on this village for a while, mainly targeting either anyone venturing into the forest or near the river. The family was only a daughter, her father, and her brother. The four attacked them while they were trying to leave due the amount of people missing from the village. The father kept them at least a bit busy, while the brother tried to escape with his sister, but the Yoma chased them down. This made them realize that there was a chance their food source would up and leave, so they planned to send one of their own back to the village alongside the girl and scare everyone into staying.

The one that didn't eat had his fill with the father, so he took on the role of the brother. He was also the most sadistic out of the four, so he enjoyed the thought of tormenting the girl while in the guise of her brother.

Death could tell this, cause he's seen it before. Watching anyone die can be traumatic for any little kid. But, watching their own family die, then get replaced by flesh eating monsters, and being powerless to do anything about it, will really mess them up.
