I want to forget shiny as its actually purely detrimental to our society, however this is more thematic to the plan I think.
@Not ImporTant would you tell me this write in cost. Also what happens if we chose not pay? That just stinks of a trap vote.
Oh and can I bundle the projects into a plan?

[X] Listen closely, we will do it like this… Write-in (cost might vary)
-[X] There are good points on both sides. We cannot stay here in such a large group or we will starve. But we are family so we shouldn't split up. The solution is to head somewhere that can support us. Back to the flatlands, where the people are fat and soft and we can hunt them as wolves... But to do this we must stay together, wolves are fearsome in a pack and even the lowlanders won't fear two lone wolves.
Cost is Knowledge
If you choose not to pay you will have lower chance of success, but you will save it for the next problem that arises.
Sure, I will be glad if you give me nicely bundled plan.

Edit:
Adjusting the timeline to migrating as soon as it frees up then?
The only reason I'm not choosing to migrate immediately is that we have that event and we'd miss it otherwise.

Also if we're moving back to the lowlands we really shouldn't pick a fight until we settle in. Got no idea what we're even facing.

Adjusting the timeline is definitely manageable. You can vote only on the event then and save rest of the progress, or I can lift the restriction of overlapping cost and transfer you several turns ahead at once, so next chapter will include commemoration and migration. Do you want to go with this?

Missing an event is not the end of the world, there will always be more events. Just choose what matters to you.

Was there a post on mechanics that I missed? What are costs, and how are they paid?

Let's say we curently have:

Knowledge +2 [2/9]
Population +2.5 [2.5/9]
Resources +0.5 [1.5/9]

If we choose

[] (Cost Resources 9) Arm all your people.
[] (Cost Knowledge 10) [Prophecies from Beyond] Gaze into your dreams to interpret them.
[] (Cost Population 4) [Event] Organize a party to look for the Spear warriors lost in the mountains.
[] (Cost Population 4) Send Hunters to search for optimal hunting and gathering spots in your vicinity.

Then what do we get? How does any of this work?

Gonna do my riot vote first
[X] Amused by Nature
We should migrate immediately I think, too. Nothing much for us here.

[X] Force people to stay a bit longer, before you figure something out. (Cost Population, Military)
[X] [Pay cost]
[X] [Project] Choose projects.
-[X] (Cost Knowledge 6) [Guided by the Herd Instinct] Establish your family bonds more precisely, to keep people united.
-[X] (Cost Resources 4) [Event] Hold commemoration event for Willow, the first spear-warrior and her three sisters.
-[X] (Cost Military 4) [Hunting the Weak] Send Spear-warriors to look for new targets to loot.

You will spend 18 turn to 'Arm all your people' (because Resources +0.5) and 2 turns to 'Send Hunters to search for optimal hunting and gathering spots in your vicinity' unless your progress changes in the meantime. You are not exactly sure what that will give you, but it is not that hard to guess. You can give up on working on projects and instead amass some of it, like Resources [1.5/9], to spend in need. It represents your ability to either work on changing your society or stabilizing it with current structures.

You will spend 18 turn to 'Arm all your people'
18, not 15? We already have 1.5, can we dip into our reserves? Are there negative effects if we do?
What happens once the numbers hit maximum, do they stop growing? Looking at the situation, certain problems start long before that.

You cannot spend your reserves on projects. You can spend them on decisions and I guess I will allow to spend it in case of events. There are no negatives beside not having reserves anymore. Yeah, it will stop growing.

[Project] (Cost Knowledge 4 Population 4 Resources 4) Migrate somewhere else.

-The big problem with this is it does nothing to fix the current unity issue. Last turn we could have easily voted to unify, now it will cost 6 Knowledge. By the time we migrate, the option to unify may not even be available.
We have just ensured our people have plenty of tools (e.g. knifes) and in this update people were considering using them against each other.

I recommend we " Establish your family bonds more precisely" (to unify) and "Hold commemoration event for Willow" (to give us a common cultural tradition). Once that is done, then my suggestion is spread our people out of these hills (keeping possession of the hills) and into more agriculturally productive land.

If we start sending Spear-warriors out, they will hopefully locate determine the best direction to expand in. We will find out what the surrounding area is like, before moving our general population there.

This sounds good:

[X] [Pay cost]
[X] [Project] Choose projects.
-[X] (Cost Resources 4) [Event] Hold commemoration event for Willow, the first spear-warrior and her three sisters.

Do the event, then migrate next turn.

Please make sure you want to stick to it.

One of us will succeed eventually, damn it.

[X] [Forget] We Like Shiny
Honestly I don't give a damn what 'synergy' this is giving us, it's taking away resources for nothing, and with synergy Matter Over Mind is just giving us resources while taking a bit of knowledge. It looks like a net nothing in terms of overall plus vs minus. Maybe Matter Over Mind without synergy just takes away Knowledge? Eh, I still don't care for it.

[X] [Aspect] They Can Be Beaten
I just love this as a concept, plus it gives us Pop to compensate for the Pop loss.

Apologies if at any point I screwed up how riot voting works.

EDIT: Not sure why I wanted Arm all your people when it'd take forever.

Determine outcome.
[] Force people to stay a bit longer, before you figure something out. (Cost Population, Military)

50% success chance
Cost paid +17%
67% success chance

You may roll k100, need 67 or less to succeed.

[] [Forget] We Like Shiny

You may roll k2, 1 - 'Slightly Misguided Gender Inequality' level increases, 2 - 'Guided by the Herd Instinct' level increases.
