Regroup first. Its not about combat power, but unity

... *Looks at canon* ... I mean, the final final guy they killed was like that, but basically every other time is was about combat power. Angemon, Wargreymon, Metalgreymon and Wargarururmon, and then Magnangemon... really the entire Dark Master thing was them getting stomped for a while despite them being together (in the beginning).

But our Crest is Love, which is one of the Teamwork crests. We need to continue living up to it, starting with caring for the welfare of our companions over the destruction of the enemy(which would be Courage's focus)

... *Looks at Matt with one of the two Megas of the group* *Looks at TK with Angemon and Magnangemon* *Looks at Kairi with Angewomon killing Myotismon* ... *turns back to veekie* Right. Cause that's totally how that works.

I don't understand what you're talking about. Our Crest Trait is a teamwork/social Trait. Just like Matt's and TK's. Though TK's is admittedly the least Social of the social Crest Traits.

Say do you guys think we work out Kari's issue of her separation or does that need more effort?

TK's is less social and more...never giving up Hope.
Matt spent such a massive portion of his journey struggling because he's kind of bad at Friendship.

Simple enough conclusion to come to, huh?

Now, let's hope everyone involved in this has a working concept of the word 'subtlety'.

Far Too Many Decisions
You're not ready. You know that much, what with Devimon having split the whole island while your backs were turned. Anybody who can do that, even with the help of the Black Gears, is not somebody you want to mess with right now.

Maybe not ever, but hey, he is still a Champion, so you've theoretically got a pretty good shot at it. Theoretically. You don't want to test that out in practice.

You'll have to, of course, if he ever finds you. If being the key word here, because you like to think that you're pretty good at hiding, given that your game of extreme-hide-and-seek with Kazuya ended in a draw. Admittedly, with the Digivices, it was sort of impossible for it to end any other way, but you'd like to at least pretend that it's something to be proud of, even if you can't actually tell anyone else about it.

Naturally, the first thing that you do once your piece of the island reconnects is to get off the savanna. There's a stretch of land attached to Infinity mountain that has a number of trees, and while it seems like an obvious hiding place, at least you're not sitting someplace where you'll obviously be seen.

Besides which, your only other decent option was the Drimogemon tunnels, and Izzy and Mimi still don't feel entirely comfortable down there, not that you can blame them. You don't particularly enjoy the darkness, either.

Still, nothing all that much happens. You suppose Devimon isn't paying all that much attention at the moment, and you're fine with that.

...It could also be that he doesn't really think of you as a threat, which is insulting and so you don't pay it much heed.

Either way, your first day hiding out isn't all that bad. At least, besides the faint whirring in the trees.

The second day of your hiding out is marked by Izzy receiving mail. Normally, this doesn't mean a whole lot- he's got a number of internet penpals from across the globe- but given your situation, you can't help but get your hopes up.

I feel like I should ask you what you're thinking. If you're even thinking. Being in the Digital World isn't exactly
a choice, but you can certainly try to go about things without getting yourselves in trouble.

About the time thing: The timestamp on the emails is about a minute apart. So you should try not to take more than a few months finding a way back.

It is good to hear that Maki ended up making something of her life, after all. We were all worried about her, especially considering... well, that's fairly off-topic.

DNA Digivolution is not something that I have ever encountered before. I will likely ask the others about it, but I doubt they've ever come across it, either. Our team didn't end up separated much.

Be careful about the Black Gears. They're much more dangerous than they look, especially if someone's figured out how to control them. Destroy any that you encounter, if you want any chance at peace.

I haven't shown your last message to the others yet, but I'm going to do that right now. They'll probably have better advice for you- I was just mission control.

If you see Ebonwumon, you'd
better tell him to start returning my calls! Keep in contact, and stay safe.

Well, that is fairly unhelpful. But at the same time, it's nice to see that somebody still cares about you. You should probably give her a status update.

[ ] Write-in message

What's more obviously important is figuring out what you're going to do today.

[ ] You see Matt and TK's dots at the edge of your screen. You should probably see what that's about.

[ ] On the other side of your screen, you have Tai. You can't say he'd be more useful than Angemon, but having him around would probably be better than Kari.

[ ] Stay in the grove. You're hiding out, after all.

ANGEMON!

[X] On the other side of your screen, you have Tai. You can't say he'd be more useful than Angemon, but having him around would probably be better than Kari.

Tai has no idea the meaning of subtle and is probably having a panic attack over what happened to Kari. Kill two birds with one stone. Matt and TK in theory are safe due to two Champions, one being Angemon. Tai is probably in the most danger due to being on his own surrounded by vulnerable to black gear Digimon.

We need to corral Tai as quickly as possible. TK and Matt have each other to rely on, and to be frank they're a frighteningly effective team, especially since TK can match his brother in combat power with Angemon. Kari needs her brother back, and Tai being on his own is a scary thought. We also need to figure out a message to send back to Haru.

Let's see, get the only other (battle) effective and useful members of our group or stop the reckless idiot from being a reckless idiot.

...

...

I can't decide.
Or surpass depending on the Digimon since Angemon punches a rank above his own facing Virus type Digimon if I recall correctly.
Angemon, or TK's anyway, punches a rank above in general as far as I've been informed.

nah, i think Angemon simply has an advantage vs virus digimon, and maybe a double advantage against devimon in particular (virus + fallen angel).

Against, let's say Greymon, it would probably be a lot more even.
@SeekerofDreams Can we DNA Digivolve to Ultimate without our Crests, or are they needed?
we can, but we still need to fulfill the stat requirements.

Ultimate: Digivolution to this level can only be unlocked by partnered Digimon once their human partner has awakened their Virtue Trait. Minimum DigiCore requirement is 750, minimum DigiSoul 250. Stats are generally in the thousands range, though 900s are not unheard of.

DNA: The most complicated Digivolution method. DNA Digivolution requires two compatible Digimon whose partners share a relationship with each other at 70+. All involved characters must meet the stat requirements for the level of the result, Virtue Traits unnecessary. Digimon coming out of a DNA Digivolution will automatically revert to one level below the Base. DNA Digimon may Digivolve further, and is treated the same as a Trigger Digivolution in that case, though only one human need have a Virtue Trait.
