Well, I object to the Greek one purely out of pracical considerations. It's about the same as calling ourselves NotLina, or McGruff Crime Lina, or anything other we called ourselves that led directly to us.

Life never ceases to amaze with all the ways it casually fucks with me.
My week started by arguing with Carol. It was my turn to do the dishes but after pulling another all-nighter healing the day before, I could barely stay awake and forgot. But of course, it can't be easy! Carol didn't like that "excuse" and I just wanted to sleep so I blew up at her.
All I really remember about it is being so upset I slammed my bedroom door and passed out in bed.
Then I have to work on a stupid busywork Biology essay for the summer because as he said: "Just because you have a power does not exclude you, Amy." Why, yes, teacher, it's not like I know more about biology then you ever will, I could teach a class of university students or hospital interns, but no, naming every bone in the human body and their functions it is.
To top off this just fantastic week, Vicky called me in a panic because she needed petty criminals healed so they aren't permanently crippled, again. I swear, if she needs me again I'll tell her no….
Yeah, I don't even believe my own paper-thin threat.
I put my head in my hands with an exhausted groan. I just wish for this week to be over.
Letting out a sigh, running my hand through my curly brown hair as I look up to my simple computer screen to continue my Biology busywork when I notice my email app has a notification.
I rest my cheek on my propped up palm as I open the email, it's probably spam, though sometimes someone manages to get hold of my personal email to request healing. If so I need to report it sooner rather then later or it could cause PR problems.

I ask robotically "Do I have your consent to heal you?" my tongue feels leaden and heavy as I get the words out. He keeps screaming and writhing on the bed as nurses try to calm him.
He isn't that coherent right now, I lightly grab his wrist and my view of his body expands in front of me. He has at least four different drugs in his system and is suffering internal bleeding, he will die very soon.
I….I can let him go. No one would blame me, he was too far gone I could tell them, maybe I could make a mistake? I'll have fewer responsibilities, less pressure if the great Panacea makes a mistake.

Colors flow lazily into each other as if alive, various designs littler the walls, from small breathtaking swirls of color to simple musical notes in eye-catching hues and all of it is in perfect organized chaos. I thought it would all clash and hurt the eyes but its all in softer pastels and the art seems to encourage looking around the whole room.
Entranced, I go up to the paint and touch it, worried it could harm people despite how beautiful it is. When I put my hand on the paint it seems to be very non-microbial, as in it would be safer to eat off the walls then a plate.
A smug sounding "Ahem" makes me blink and turn to look at Gerold who has a happy smile on his face "You know that gang of taggers that have been active lately?" I nod, still admiring the waiting room. He chuckles "Well they left a calling card, in their words "So no one can claim credit!" they broke in last night, didn't steal a thing but nearly the whole hospital is like this. It's quite the improvement if you ask me"" he chuckles again "Doesn't feel like a dead place anymore."
I can't help but agree with him, this is amazing! The whole hospital is like this? So many patients would be thrilled to have the color in their lives.
"I wonder why they did it though?" I ask more to the air if anything "Beats me, they didn't give a reason, personally, I don't think they need one." Gerold replies. I suppose he's right, still, wasn't there some Reaper Review they had where you could ask questions? Vicky babbles about it and until now I've half-heartedly listened.

The following day is actually rather enjoyable with all the fantastic creations to look at. Each room is different, I sorta hope the hospital doesn't remove it.

Vicky gives me a side hug with a radiant smile that makes me give her a small one right back "So you wanted to try and be a caller tonight Ames? I thought you didn't care about the Reapers?" she asks and you sigh, not breaking the hug, "Well...they painted nearly the entire general hospital a few days ago so I wanted to know why they did it."
She snaps her fingers "Oh! So they made the awesome art in the waiting room I've seen when coming to get you?" I simply nod, enjoying the cuddling of my sister, it eases my mind a bit.
She starts babbling on about her day when the clock strikes nine on the dot and she is interrupted by the radio crackling to life with the smooth voice of a boy. His tone is happy but with a hint of mischief in it
"~Hey there fellow brothers, sisters, and sinners of all colors, it's time….time for the Reaper Review! We are on the air and in the waves~! I'm your host, the sinfully smooth master of ceremonies DJ Chiptune! To-night, we bring you the word of the street, the letters on the wall, and all that jazz. So sit tight and lay loose."
Well, he certainly is radio host quality. He seems likable, maybe this is why Vicky is glued to this?

Notorious rookie raising in the ranks Gangsta is building a head of steam after our own Canto got a visit from the Bad Boys, and has decided to rally a few brave Reapers to inform the oriental dragon-reject of what exactly we think about that. Word is they got a real hot night planned out. I personally wish them a lot of luck... provided they don't get too toasty…"

Still, Grunge was kind enough to finish her work, so it's all good! Gotta say I think the new front looks sweet! But hey, that's just me, and you all know how reliable I am, am I right?"

Vicky nudges me a bit and points to the phone "Go ahead Ames, this is around the time they take calls!" I gulp, hands shaking a bit as if the phone will bite me for even talking to non-heroes. I pick up the phone regardless and input the number Vicky tells me.
"Well, we've only got a little time left before the PRT finds this frequency and starts hunting my sorry hide, so let's wrap this up! Time for some phone calls from the lucky few who got our number! Okay, hang on a second..."
There was a short beeping sound on the transmission.

There's a click on the phone and the same voice comes out of the radio and the phone now, creating an echoing quality.
"Alright, caller, you're on the Review!"
I panic momentarily, no idea what to say and look to Vicky who is giving a double thumbs up with a smile, shes no help, the traitor.

"Um... hi?" I flinch at how nervous and pathetic I sound from two different angles.
"Well as I live and breath! I'd recognize that voice anywhere! Ladies and gentlemen, we have a celebrity on our transmission tonight! The lovely missy with the magic fingers, Panacea! What brings someone so prim and proper like you to this cesspool of villainous rebellion?"

He then took him to the hospital, and well, the rest is history!"
Oh, so that was the strange looking person I healed in my zombie mode. Wish I paid more attention now but it seems reasonable but a little extreme for an entire group to do for one member.

That's an entire lifetime's worth of good karma, earned for us, paid out to you, just like that! Bam!"
That's…...that's the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me….I….Is this what truly feeling appreciated is like….? The warmth in my chest and the warm tears running down my cheeks surprise me in how much what he said affected me...I had no idea how much I needed that.
I had dropped the phone and am hugging Vicky while tears stream down my face, this feels so much better!
Silence reigns over the transmission.

The day after that whole debacle of embarrassing myself over the radio, I come into the hospital and am greeted with the same amazing artwork but I have a new appreciation for it like it's my reward... It feels good.
I wave to Gerold as I go to where I normally heal but he stops me "Hey, Panacea, there's someone looking for you. A little girl in a costume similar to yours with pink hair of all things. I think she's a cape." he says which stops me in my tracks. Excuse me he says what now?
I turn to see his smug face at my shocked expression but I ignore it in favor of following where he's pointing to a pink haired girl that has the same color scheme as me clutching a gold and white staff as she shyly tries to shrink away from my gaze.
I blink in shock, this is certainly new. She looks to be no more than ten years old! Did she trigger that early? I feel really bad for her...not to mention she's not wearing a mask, she must not know.
I calmly walk over to her and adopt the stance I do for small children as I hold a hand out in greeting with a slightly forced smile on my face and ask "What's your name miss?"
She opens her mouth and seems to be very shy as she tries to make herself as small as possible and I barely hear her in an adorable voice say softly "χάος Βασίλισσα" I blink, that's not English for sure.

Her hands are conduits of what seems to be plastic of all things for her power, and finally, her brain has not only a corona pollentia and gemma, marking her a parahuman, but her brain has a fucking switch of all things in it!

My week started by arguing with Carol. It was my turn to do the dishes but after pulling another all-nighter healing the day before, I could barely stay awake and forgot. But of course, it can't be easy! Carol didn't like that "excuse" and I just wanted to sleep so I blew up at her.
All I really remember about it is being so upset I slammed my bedroom door and passed out in bed.
Then I have to work on a stupid busywork Biology essay for the summer because as he said: "Just because you have a power does not exclude you, Amy." Why, yes, teacher, it's not like I know more about biology then you ever will, I could teach a class of university students or hospital interns, but no, naming every bone in the human body and their functions it is.
To top off this just fantastic week, Vicky called me in a panic because she needed petty criminals healed so they aren't permanently crippled, again. I swear, if she needs me again I'll tell her no….
Yeah, I don't even believe my own paper-thin threat.
I put my head in my hands with an exhausted groan. I just wish for this week to be over.
Letting out a sigh, running my hand through my curly brown hair as I look up to my simple computer screen to continue my Biology busywork when I notice my email app has a notification.
I rest my cheek on my propped up palm as I open the email, it's probably spam, though sometimes someone manages to get hold of my personal email to request healing. If so I need to report it sooner rather then later or it could cause PR problems.
It's subject reads "For Amelia."

DJ Chiptune's voice comes from the phone and radio again
Better just spit it out, don't mess it up, who knows how many people are listening!
"I... wanted to ask you a question. Two weeks ago, you guys came to the hospital-"
"HAHAHAHA! Oh man, I was there for that! I did the waiting room!"
I jump at his jovial laughter and Vicky covers her mouth to suppress hers.
Focus Amelia, focus, just ask the question.
"Right... anyway, you guys came in, sprayed the entire place with washable anti-microbial gloss paint, and..."
"Aw, wait, hang on a sec! You don't like it? Please don't tell me you don't like it! We put so much work into planning it and Mariachi whined like a bitch for a whole week 'bout the beatdown your sister put on him and-!"
My eyes shoot open wide in shock, they think I don't like it!? How could I not!
"NO! I-n-no. I-I do, I really do, it's... god, it's beautiful. The colors, the way they flow and look like they move..."
I stammer in my haste to correct him and now I'm blushing, great!
"Sooo... what's the problem?"
I huff, frustrated. The problem is why!
"Just... why? Why did you do this? All of this?"
"Well, for you of course!" that surprises me, making the frustration deflate out of me.
"Me?" I'm now officially confused.
"Sure! See, back then, another one of our guys, Cajun? He was doing a nice little set downtown, one of those pieces some of the guys do to redeem the Norse figures the E88 capes like to pervert. Unfortunately, their goons took offense to that. Grabbed him before he could bounce and fucked him up something fierce. Lucky thing Franco was nearby and was able to save his sorry ass. He then took him to the hospital, and well, the rest is history!"
Oh, so that was the strange looking person I healed in my zombie mode. Wish I paid more attention now but it seems reasonable but a little extreme for an entire group to do for one member.
"... so... you did it because I helped your friend?" to clarify.
"Well, not just him!" Huh?
"Huh?"
I said that aloud as well…..
"See, Cajun stuck around the hospital for a bit, 'cuz you skedaddled before he could thank you properly. He saw that the entire time, you were running around willy-nilly, healing left and right, with just about no breaks! Hell, the last time I heard about dedication like that, it was when the boss nearly got nabbed trying to make her way to reach the Protectorate HQ and give the city something to really admire. So anyways, Cajun brought it up with the boss, boss brought it up with us, and we all agreed to give you a big thank you gift for all the amazing work you do! That's an entire lifetime's worth of good karma, earned for us, paid out to you, just like that! Bam!"
That's…...that's the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me….I….Is this what truly feeling appreciated is like….? The warmth in my chest and the warm tears running down my cheeks surprise me in how much what he said affected me...I had no idea how much I needed that.
I had dropped the phone and am hugging Vicky while tears stream down my face, this feels so much better!
Silence reigns over the transmission.
"Hello? Helloooo? Anyone home?"
Vicky picks up the phone, her voice filled with a deep gratitude and a tinge of guilt comes over the radio
"Amy... she can't talk right now. But I think that if she could she'd say thank you. And... tell Mariachi I'm sorry."
Vicky puts the phone on the receiver and there is a click followed by a long minute of silence.
I feel her rubbing my back and comforting me as I ruin her sleep shirt, I don't care, I'm just…..enjoying being happy for once.

The day after that whole debacle of embarrassing myself over the radio, I come into the hospital and am greeted with the same amazing artwork but I have a new appreciation for it like it's my reward... It feels good.
I wave to Gerold as I go to where I normally heal but he stops me "Hey, Panacea, there's someone looking for you. A little girl in a costume similar to yours with pink hair of all things. I think she's a cape." he says which stops me in my tracks. Excuse me he says what now?
I turn to see his smug face at my shocked expression but I ignore it in favor of following where he's pointing to a pink haired girl that has the same color scheme as me clutching a gold and white staff as she shyly tries to shrink away from my gaze.
I blink in shock, this is certainly new. She looks to be no more than ten years old! Did she trigger that early? I feel really bad for her...not to mention she's not wearing a mask, she must not know.
I calmly walk over to her and adopt the stance I do for small children as I hold a hand out in greeting with a slightly forced smile on my face and ask "What's your name miss?"
She opens her mouth and seems to be very shy as she tries to make herself as small as possible and I barely hear her in an adorable voice say softly "χάος Βασίλισσα" I blink, that's not English for sure.
She slowly takes my hand lightly to shake and once she does I'm shocked by what I see!
She…..her biology is so strange! It's mainly organic but it's as if parts of her body have been seamlessly replaced with inorganic material.
Her liver has become a battery for her power, there are small amounts of legitimate crystals in her blood, her skin is more cloth-like but very resilient so long as her battery liver is functional. Her hands are conduits of what seems to be plastic of all things for her power, and finally, her brain has not only a corona pollentia and gemma, marking her a parahuman, but her brain has a fucking switch of all things in it!
I can't help but be shocked….by all rights this girl should be dead many times over but yet all this inorganic material is treated as if she was born this way!
I can't help but ask "Who are you again and why are you here?"

FINALLY!!! Done with the interlude, it's taken fucking forever but I finally like where it's at! Tomorrow is the actual update from Lina's perspective as the free action this week was see PanPan. Do you like Panacea? She's one of my favorite characters.
