the only thing i can say to push my vote (communication team) is that we're, in my opinion, in the best place to make use of Sora's (not combat) abilities, while at the same time being decently ready to rescue or support the other teams in case of a fight.

I actually want to risk leaving Izzy and Mimi by themselves on the weakest team (though they DO have team Moon with them) to try to push them to digivolve.

I do admit all choices make sense though, so i'm ok with every team winning

[X] The search team. Built to find things while avoiding the notice of others... for the most part, anyway. Good at avoiding combat, less so at the combat itself. Teamwork could be an issue for some members. Members: Izzy, Mimi, Team Moon, and BlackGatomon.

Going with this team because it has Izzy on it :V

And in interest of ending this now...

-Vote Closed!-

You picked the stealth mission! Honestly, it would probably be easier if your Digimon weren't pink...

Travel Time! Yay!
Gear Savanna is fairly... nondescript. Flat plains, trees, rocky outcroppings. Easy to move across, at least when you're not too close to Infinity Mountain.

You hope you don't end up too close to Infinity Mountain. You're not sure why all the major paths up are blocked off, but you're sure it's probably for a good reason.

"I'm not sure why we need to split up like this," The black cat Digimon standing at Mimi's heels mutters. She's BlackGatomon, a member of Team Calico from the arena. Team Moon's rivals, which means she's not too happy about being stuck here while her partners are on the combat team.

Honestly, in your opinion, arena Digimon in general are meant for the combat team, though you won't deny that Lekismon's Moon Night Bombs probably do wonders for stealth. Not that Team Moon are Lekismon right now. No, SnowAgumon's eating a sandwich, Lunamon's keeping a sort of watch from behind a tree, and Lopmon appears to be using Tentomon as a viewing platform.

"We can't overlook the fact that Leomon and Ogremon might be compromised," Izzy points out. "If they are, it's best as few as possible end up in harm's way."

"But I'm on the useless team! Just a bunch of Rookies and a bird!" The team's sole current Champion wilts away from the death glares the rest of the party shoots her. "...I miss Mikemon and Lynxmon..."

"Right! You need to stop moping around!" Mimi declares to the little cat Digimon. "I say we've had enough of a break for now! Let's move it!"

Izzy glances at you. "I thought you were leading this little thing."

"I'll be entirely honest: I have no idea who's meant to be leading this thing. Let's just... hope she doesn't break anything."

"I don't think she can be that bad," Tentomon states. "Besides, she has Palmon to control her!" You hope that the flat look you direct his way conveys just how little hope that gives you. Palmon is not big on self-control.

"Biyomon, can you scout ahead from the air?" You ask your partner, and she nods.

"Got it! Tentomon, you can come with me, I'm sure the others will be just fine without us! Lopmon, get off of him!" You move to catch the smaller of the two bunnies as your Digimon knocks her off of Tentomon.

This is going to be a long mission...

Things pick up a bit more in the afternoon. More specifically, Palmon and Biyomon have spoken to a few of the Digimon that live on the plains, and they said that Leomon and Ogremon had been going to deal with a flock of Gear-infested Akatorimon that live close to the base of the mountain.

"Not that the Akatorimon have ever been particularly civilized," SnowAgumon notes as she tries and fails to read the map, before Mimi snatches it away from her. "Hey!"

"You're doing it all wrong!" The girl in pink points out. "See, you're supposed to hold it like this!"

"It's not like that would have taken us in the wrong direction, though," Lunamon shrugs. "It's just... head to the base of Infinity Mountain. Not particularly easy to mess up."

"You've seen the size of that mountain, right?" BlackGatomon drily comments. "Anyway, we need to figure out if the Akatorimon are free or not. If they are, great, if not, we know where our targets went missing."

"Please don't call them targets..." Lopmon sighs. "It makes me feel like we're a bunch of assassins or something."

"Which would be infinitely cooler than what we're doing now," Tentomon adds. "A life of danger! Thrill! Fear of discovery! ...Ow!"

"That's enough from you, Tentomon!" Palmon scolds him. "We're supposed to avoid attracting attention, be a little quieter."

It hits you, at that point, that the team with the cat, a pair of rabbits, a dinosaur, a walking flower, a ladybug, and pink bird are talking about stealth. You may have made a miscalculation at some point.

...Still, you have to scout out the Akatorimon somehow. Plan?

[ ] Get BlackGatomon to do it. She'll have to wait until night to be most effective, but odds are they'll never know she was there.

[ ] Have Team Moon do it as Lekismon. They're fairly noticeable, but their Moon Night Bombs should allow them to exit without too much violence.

[ ] Have Lopmon do it solo. Apparently, she's got some experience with this kind of thing.

[ ] Send in Team Moon as three Digimon. Worst case, they can always fuse to escape, but three heads are better than one!

[ ] Send in BlackGatomon and Lopmon. There is no way this could potentially end terribly!

[ ] Do it yourself. Clearly, these idiots can't be trusted to do things alone.

[ ] Can Izzy program a Digimon to stay asleep? At the very least, his Digivice should handle any Gears.

[ ] Mimi's got a Digivice, she should be fine. Even if Palmon doesn't seem to be good at self-defense.

[ ] Send both Izzy and Mimi. They can cover each other's blind spots, it'll be fine!

[ ] Three-pronged DigiDestined assault! Except stealth!

Okay, removing Gears with Digivices is not a stealthy process; so if it comes to that we're boned. I'm a little iffy about waiting till night as well, because then we'd be at an extreme disadvantage if Ogremon and Leomon are compromised, and if BlackGatomon got hit then we'd have to deal with her too.

Besides, when else do we get to use our Stealth Skill?
"and so started the story of Sora, who defeated even Mega level Digimon by simply infiltrating their bases and poisoning their meals. It's not the hero we wanted, but it's the hero we deserved"

just a random thought :p

when i see these kind of options i'm always so tempted...

Time to shine you two :D

Stealth skills go! Lets use that +25 modifier!

Do we have any idea as to where the other teams are and what they're doing? 'Cause I feel like we should have the Comms Team tell to the Combat Team what we've learned, find out what they've learned, and try to coordinate between the three groups.

That's why we have three groups.

Yeah, see... I rolled to see just how close every team ended up to the actual objective. Comms and Combat rolled in the 40's range. Search got a 95. So don't expect too much backup if this goes south. You accidentally wandered into a completely different part of the savannah from them.

funny. For once we DID NOT join the main combat team, and yet it seems like the fight will come to us anyway

Well, maybe Mimi and Izzy will get their champion form at least. That would make it worth it

But do we the characters realize that we're separated?

If so, then I'd say we use our stealthiest member, since that's our primary focus in this crew.

You Know, She Was Always Gonna Have Issues, Really
It wasn't the first time Maki had woken up to the sun shining in her eyes on a mattress in Jijimon's house. Far from it- for the longest time, it was the only place in File City with a first-aid kit, let alone anyone who knew how to use it.
"You... are you... human?"
Of course, it had been a while since the last time, what with her and Agumon having their own house now... no, not Agumon right now. Koromon. That was weird, she couldn't recall him Digivolving all that far...
"Hey, what are you doing? Come back! Who even are you!?
"Hey, get up," She nudged the little pink blob. "It's morning already."
"I should be asking you the same question. After all, this wonderful world that I've found... what would a child be doing, playing in it?"
"Whuh? Oh. Sorry!" Her partner- which still felt weird to say, even after more than a year together, when she just couldn't stop seeing Tapirmon- blinked, maroon eyes taking in the world around them. "When's breakfast?"
"I was here before you were. Now answer me."
He never changed, did he? But then, nothing seemed to, these days. and that was fine, really. Safer.
"You may call me Analogman. A real person in this Digital World... the rightful ruler."
"We'll pick something up. Come on, we need to talk to Jijimon." Just what had she been doing there? The last thing she remembered was climbing Infinity Mountain...
"You're insane."
Maki picked up Koromon, hugging him tight to her chest as she left the bedroom, noticing Jijimon sitting with a number of papers and such at his desk. "Ah, Maki, you're awake," He greeted her.
"What would you know? You're a child!" A crack, and the walls of the mountain began to crumble, a familiar shape emerging. "Come to me, Machinedramon!"
"Good morning, Jijimon," She responded. "Um... what time did I get back last night? Sorry, my memory's a bit foggy..."
"Wow! What kind of Digimon is that?"
"Agumon. Digivolve as far as you can."
"What's wrong, Maki? We've beaten everything so far."
"And without RizeGreymon, we don't stand a chance! Just do it!"

"You returned fairly late, carrying Koromon like you are now. Shortly after midnight, I believe. We were... concerned about how tired you were, so we offered to let you stay over. What happened out there?"
Two Digimon. One Mega, and one Ultimate. One truly an adult, the other still a child- physically, at least.
Machinedramon moved first.

"We found the one that was causing trouble!" Koromon grinned. "Don't worry, that's all fixed now!"

"We think it is," She sighed. "I... I really don't remember anything that happened.

"Oh... You don't?" The little blob looked downcast for a moment, before giving the blob equivalent of a shrug. "That's fine. It wasn't- it wasn't that interesting anyway, besides... well..."
"RizeGreymon!" She couldn't do anything, only watch helplessly as her partner was mercilessly attacked by those claws... "No. Not again." She refused to lose another one.
"Besides what?"
Her Digivice flashed, as her Digimon began to shrink down... and glow brighter than he ever had before.
"I Digivolved again!" He flashed a toothy grin. "Once I've got the energy again, we have to show everybody! It was awesome!"

"To Mega?" She asked, and when he nodded as best he could, she instantly felt terrible. She'd wanted a Mega Digimon since she'd known they were possible, and even if it weren't Tapirmon... to have forgotten her own partner reaching that level wasn't something she could easily forgive. "What kind?"
"VictoryGreymon! Don't let him get away!" She was used to fighting Digimon. Maybe just a bit too much.
But he'd hurt her partner.

"I was VictoryGreymon!" Maki paused. That wasn't a species she had ever heard of before. But then, Megas were so few and far between, it didn't come as that much of a surprise.

She'd have to check it out for herself as soon as possible. Though she was already imagining what he must have looked like... powerful muscles, shining armor... a sword dripping with blood.

She couldn't wait to see just what he looked like at that stage. She was sure it must have been amazing.

Something to tell Daigo and the others about, if she ever got back to them. She wasn't sure if she would, still didn't know if she even wanted to.
After what she'd done, did she deserve to?
"Let's just be glad the trouble's over," She decided. "For the most part, anyway. There's probably going to be Black Gears and stuff around, soon, but we can deal with that.
What was with this island and Machinedramon, anyway?
"Yes, those are just a minor annoyance at this point, aren't they?" Jijimon laughed. "Oh, by the way, Centarumon wanted to see you when you woke up. Apparently, he's found some ruins that he thought you might find interesting. And Meteormon would like a rematch at some point, but that can probably wait until your partner is Agumon again."

Probably. And then she'd see if she could repeat... whatever had happened up that mountain. Overkill, really, but it wouldn't be the worst she'd done.
Far from it.
"Got it. I'll drop by later, then. Thanks!" And she was out the door, back into the city that she had helped to create. Ready for a brand-new day.

Ohhhhh man. Yeah, I can see why she may have stopped trying to get home. She's pretty much a layer-cake made up of different flavors of PTSD at this point.
