Just to be clear how many points do we have at the start? So that we may know how conservative or liberal to be with our points.

Wait... So if droid 1,2,3,4 wins the vote we go in point debt?
That is why I say we go droid 5. It's not a real downgrade in ability because look at the JT-65 and BB-22 salvage droids. They may be salvage droids but they are still decent combatants; plus there is the possibility we may be able to select a world with a scrap yard and well the Star Wars universe doesn't recycle or repair anything really on any large scale. So mostly functional battleships are possible high end loot and that is ignoring the sheer amount of droid parts available at these locations. Basically the faster we get to one of these places the better and droid 5 may even let us start at one.

While I did show stupidly high end class five droids from an era we will probably not be playing. The whole point was to demonstrate the sheer variety and potential mid to endgame power that class five allows. Another possibility with class five is a simple maintenance droid. Stupid and weak in every way except one. With the saving of points we might be able to become such a droid at say the senate building or the Jedi temple or a high end luxury hotel. Great we now have the blueprints to the entire building/facility and carte blanche to go wherever we feel like in said building. Nobody will question the maintenance droid fiddling with the case holding the sith or Jedi holocrons because it's a maintenance droid and the case must have a squeaky bolt or something.
Yet another possibility is an overseer droid at a factory. Again utterly useless and a pain early on but what is that factory making? Maybe it's making assault droids and as the overseer droid in charge of where those droids go it would be fairly simple to have them labeled faulty and have an army of droids sitting around in a warehouse somewhere. Basically class five let's us save points and well we are a droid we can upgraded ourselves or get upgraded pretty easily. It's all about the opportunity that class five might give instead of the limitations the higher classes do give. This isn't to say any class is bad it's just we don't know what those negative points might force us to give up on or what the disadvantages that might be available are.
