Droid Among The Stars: The Extra-Ordinary Journey of an Ordinary Droid

Just to be clear how many points do we have at the start? So that we may know how conservative or liberal to be with our points.

[X] 2 Droid. were programmed for engineering and other technical sciences. They differed from class one droids because they applied the science to real-life situations. Class two droids were rarely equipped with Basic vocabulators, instead communicating through Binary. Examples are: Astromech droids, Exploration droids, Environmental droids, Engineering droids, and Maintenance droids.(-3)

That is why I say we go droid 5. It's not a real downgrade in ability because look at the JT-65 and BB-22 salvage droids. They may be salvage droids but they are still decent combatants; plus there is the possibility we may be able to select a world with a scrap yard and well the Star Wars universe doesn't recycle or repair anything really on any large scale. So mostly functional battleships are possible high end loot and that is ignoring the sheer amount of droid parts available at these locations. Basically the faster we get to one of these places the better and droid 5 may even let us start at one.

[X] 4 Droid.were programmed to fight. Almost all class four droids carried weapons. Armed combat droids were among the first droids ever created. Examples are: Security droids, Gladiator droids, Battle droids, and Assassin droids (-1)

They are both Old Republic Era droids. I like that your having ideas and planning, but a slight issue may be the fact that in the next vote, when say you select a specific type of droid, or quality of droid, if you go your route with these higher quality droids you might not have enough points for what you want to do.

You also have to keep in mind, that Class 5, and Salvage Droids in particular, are only equipped with a rudimentary processor.

While I did show stupidly high end class five droids from an era we will probably not be playing. The whole point was to demonstrate the sheer variety and potential mid to endgame power that class five allows. Another possibility with class five is a simple maintenance droid. Stupid and weak in every way except one. With the saving of points we might be able to become such a droid at say the senate building or the Jedi temple or a high end luxury hotel. Great we now have the blueprints to the entire building/facility and carte blanche to go wherever we feel like in said building. Nobody will question the maintenance droid fiddling with the case holding the sith or Jedi holocrons because it's a maintenance droid and the case must have a squeaky bolt or something.
Yet another possibility is an overseer droid at a factory. Again utterly useless and a pain early on but what is that factory making? Maybe it's making assault droids and as the overseer droid in charge of where those droids go it would be fairly simple to have them labeled faulty and have an army of droids sitting around in a warehouse somewhere. Basically class five let's us save points and well we are a droid we can upgraded ourselves or get upgraded pretty easily. It's all about the opportunity that class five might give instead of the limitations the higher classes do give. This isn't to say any class is bad it's just we don't know what those negative points might force us to give up on or what the disadvantages that might be available are.

[X] 5 Droid. were simple labor droids that did menial labor that no one wanted to do. Class five droids were the most often encountered droids. Examples are: General labor droids, Labor-specialist droids, and Hazardous-service droids (+1)
[X] 1 Droid. worked in the fields of mathematics, physics, physical sciences, and medicine. Although they had in-depth knowledge of their field, they were rarely programmed to apply their knowledge to everyday situations. Class one droids were considered little more than computers since all they usually did was perform calculations. They tended to be more expensive, on average, than droids in any other category. Examples are: Medical droids, Biological science droids, Physical science droids, and Mathematics Droids. ( - 4)

the points dont allow you to change that much. They allow you to change a significant amount of things, but its relatively balanced. Keep in mind if you start as a industrial droid, you will be significantly dumber and less capable. It doesnt matter if you manage to become a heavy lifting droid on a Dreadnought in the Katana fleet if you are too stupid to do anything

Valid point and if the points don't allow us to change that much and all classes are balanced then disregard everything I've been saying so far as class five really screws us over in the short term and the long term if there isn't an easy way to get around the inherent flaws of class five. And given that almost everybody voted for the more sane and much more reasonable classes they clearly saw through my grand scheme for us to become Vader's personal MSE-6-series maintence droid (the mouse droid) and run over peoples feet and generally trying to drive officers insane all while being immune to repercussions as the personal droid of the big scary magic respirator. And as that is not happening we clearly must set our sight on stealing General Grevious' body and replacing all the squishy stuff with our own processors. Let it never be said I am not ambitious; idiotically setting arbitrary and stupid goals yes but those goals are definitely ambitious.

Droid Selection Roll(D100) 100(confirm Critical 100), 74, 53, 32) (better rolls mean better options for less point cost, Criticals give you unique options)

This pleases me. Now we just need to make ourselves a disguise, or hack up some proxies. Pretty sure anyone knowing of our existence imperils us in a massive way. (or them as we are gonna have the killing power to... silence... most threats now)
