Honestly the rest of the adults probably are under suspicion. We're most likely a last ditch desperate effort after Itachi refusing to take the position.
Oh wow this is going to suck for Rin.
And the Uchihas do need an actual leader to band the orphans from the attack into a singular family and support structure.
Well, actually, it depends on the level of responsibilities that come with the role versus how symbolic it is.
I think the first thing we would need to do is check on everyone and find out if any of the orphans want to, you know, live in a house with other orphans. Figure out which kids can't take care of themselves and work with the surviving adults to support them. It's going to make the clan even more insular because the clan is going to be a lot of kids' only family. Maybe we could introduce the idea of group therapy? Lord knows everyone involved will need it.
This is really going to cut into Rin's training time. Ah well. By the end of this Rin ought to be so good at diplomacy she can write up a peace treaty even Zetsu and Kaguya are cool with.
If it's not clear, I am going to vote to be clan head. After begging Itachi to please consider taking the role since for political reasons outsiders need to know that the clan head is someone who is a competent ninja and also older than 7.
That's the real reason they made us a "special jonin", isn't it. So that people think we're actually qualified to lead the clan, and the other villages watch out for the insanely dangerous girl who became a "jonin (level specialist)" at 7, you know, instead of laughing at the Uchihas for being led by a 7 year old.
