Allow me to explain.
Ever heard of the Mandela Effect?
See, for all your life you've thought you were quite decent at geography. Most Americans might struggle to put the names of the smaller eastern European countries on the map, but not you. You know where Croatia is off the top of your head, let alone a place in the US, like Kansas.
That brings us to the first part of the problem, which is the fact that, in hindsight, you're almost certain a city called Bridgemore in the state of Delaware has never existed, to begin with. More importantly, you've lived here your entire life without noticing this.
How did you not notice this? But now, that you look on the map in your textbook, you see conflicting information. Bridgemore is right there, before your eyes. Despite that, some innate part of your brain is telling you: 'No, it was never there, and it still isn't,' despite the fact that you grew up and made friends here for your entire life. You feel your thoughts begin to melt in your mind, as chills run down your spine.
You go to the living room, barely dressed and observe. Your father is reading the newspaper with an unfettered expression while your mom is making breakfast. Has no one else really noticed this? That's impossible! That's just stupid.
Okay, calm down. You breathe in, breathe out, go back and perform your daily routine. Shower, dressing up, packing your books. Everything is fine. It's just your brain going haywire from the stress and frustration of a high-schooler's life... you hope.
You sit down on the couch, turn on the news, and instantly realize that, as a matter of fact, no. Nothing is fine, and your brain wins this fight because it was right.
Alas.
You stare in morbid fascination, as your little sister, Irina glances at the TV, then calls out, "Mommy, sparkling people are running around! Come and see!"
Your little sister misidentifies a man whose clothes burn to ash, as his skin is set aflame and his flesh ripples with lava-filled volcanic fissures that seamlessly run beside chunks of black obsidian stone. He releases a bestial roar then unleashes a wave of flame in the direction of the camera.
You tighten your lips. Your mom, holding a plate, peeks out of the kitchen and almost drops it.
Soon, the footage changes to something slightly less unusual, if equally fascinating. A low-quality iPhone recording of a man in a gray hoodie walking in the air. More importantly, you recognize the park he's walking over as Gladstone Plaza, not three blocks away from where you live.
"It's a bit blurry and out of focus but I think our watchers can see clearly what's going on! What does this mean? We have brought genetic expert Claude Blume with us to try and explain what's going on!"
The camera moves to show a white-haired man with black-framed glasses. He looked very sleek and professional, dressed in a snazzy suit.
"The comic books are becoming real, Luanne. I believe genetic mutations are causing abnormalities that push humanity towards evolution." He can try selling it, but you won't buy it. Genes don't mutate like this, unless someone's parents were lava monsters, which you're skeptical about.
He continues, "This isn't the first time this happened. Let's look back to last week when we saw a fight occur in Brooklyn where the two fighters seemed to be throwing flames and ice at each other! And the day before that we had that incident where a woman was reported to have driven her car into a river! When rescue personnel came to rescue her, they reported that they did not see anyone in the car!"
The reporter, Luanne, takes over. "These events appear to occur almost exclusively on the eastern coast of the US, mostly the states of New Jersey, Delaware, and Virginia. We have not yet received any reports of such abnormalities from anywhere else. Anyone witnessing such an incident should contact the hotlin–"
At that moment, Irina seems to get bored and switches channels for Cartoon Network.

Your PC if win will be one of the rare PC who are truly a jerk with heart of gold instead of friendly guy/gal with bad social skill, and I want to play as that.
