[X] The First Option.

Given that we have at least one pretty dangerous threat before us undoubtedly, I think that overall control is far better than a major degree of lack of control, but neither option is like... terrible.

I would call it minor rather than major. Furthermore, I want to make it clear the First Option puts you in a minor amount of potential danger while the Second Option doesn't put you in any. Beyond shaping what path the initial stages of the quest will take (being the first superhero vs picking the superheroes), the choice is choosing either a minor amount of danger or a minor amount of lacking control.

I would call it minor rather than major.

Eh I see a lack of control over the rate of growth (as how I read it) and the nature that the growth takes as decently major. Not groundbreaking or horrific, but decently major in the context of one definite threat and one potential threat (that could be an ally, granted). But just a difference in perspective I think.

[X] The Second Option.
I tried to come up with a good way to put why I chose this, but it boiled down to Control/Danger and Chance/Safety with a lot of extra words.

The rate of growth will be same either way unless your Avatar is killed, which will limit your growth as you will need to take a small amount of time to recover from that. Of course, picking a bad host could slow down rate of growth, but since Guardian is too competent for that, I won't be giving you the option to pick bad hosts. Not when you only have three level 1 powers at your disposal as Guardian will be able to focus enough on that to avoid making bad choices. That said, once Guardian has enough on her plate (and the voters will hopefully gotten the hang of things), she might start making mistakes (the QM stops going easy on you due to it being the beginning of the quest).

The Destroyer is a long term threat, the big bad if you will. It will be the big nasty threat looming over you for the majority of the quest and the main goal of the PC will be preparing to take him down and attempting to do so once she gets the opportunity.

Fair enough.

[x] The Second Option.

Having more heroes means more variety and people to think of solutions. Also more characters for us to interact with.

Edit: Also, having a variety of empowered humans from different walks of life using our powers means they will be able to take initiative to look for odd things that could lead us to the other entities.

Plus, the small chance humanity might learn enough about our tech to contribute their own resources to the fight. Or at least devise a way to protect themselves or flee.

Potential Champions
You decide that the second option is the better one. While you would be unable to determine exactly how your powers will develop as they grow, that small loss of control is worth the safety gained from not having to expose your avatar to danger.

Of course, that means having to find a suitable set of hosts to grant your powers to. It wouldn't do for your power to be misused and used to abuse others. Thankfully, there is over four billion souls on this planet to you to use. That said, you are somewhat limited in what part of the planet you can access as you are limited to the lands of Yanks and Canucks for now.

Nonetheless, you have plenty of people to work with. While many you are forced to dismiss outright due to their current activities or personalities while even more failed to meet your criteria as they wouldn't use your power properly, using for self-gain instead of aiding others.

After a short while, you are able to find appropriate candidates, a few for each. While there is no doubt to be more worthy candidates out there, you don't have time to find all of them.

The candidates for your Healing Power are all similar. Each one is a trained in local healing arts and work as a medic. Should they get your Healing Power, they will use it to heal those in need of said healing rather than keep it for themselves or only a select few such those that can pay them.

Kimberly Case is the first. A Yank adult female, she is in the latter half of fifth decade by the time measures of the local sophonts. Coming from a family with wealth and luxury, she is naturally kind and determined person, unyielding when it comes to doing her duty to save the lives of others, even when her own life is at risk. However, Kimberly has a recent downturn in her life due to a betrayal by one of her closest friends, causing her to bottle up as she turns to drug-infused liquids and throws herself into her work.

The second Healer option is another adult female, but a Canuck this time. In early part of her fourth decade, Zoey Hudson is a kind and gentle soul. Unable to get a proper education in healing arts due her poor background, she relies on government support for housing and substance and other basic needs. Between her lacking education and her desire to help others, Zoey works as an assistant medic rather than as a proper medic.

The last Healer option is an Albert Graham, a Yank adult male. Like the other Yank healer, he is a proper medic. Assertive and helpful, he also comes from a wealthy family and now in his fourth decade, he devoted his life to healing others due to inspiration from relative in his childhood.

As for the Technology power, you found hosts with more variety.

Philip Coleman is a young adult Yank who works as an engineer in a poor part of his home settlement. Secretive and clumsy, he has lofty goals of making the world a better place and leaving his mark on it as a result.

The second Technology choice is a Canadian male adult in his fourth decade. A kind and caring man, Isaac Barrett runs his own family business as someone who repairs broken machines with his mate as both of their offspring above adulthood.

The third Technology choice is Bailey West, a Yank soldier in his relative youth. Brave and filled with a sense of responsibility, he is one of those responsible for working with the Hellfire weapons that the Yank nation have in their arsenal.

And frankly, you are concerned that they have so many Hellfire weapons and at the implications of why they would have so many.

As for the Adaptation power, there is another set of three candidates.

Reagan Gregory is a somewhat elderly Yank male. While you don't have a good grasp on the local biology of the native sophonts, he is in his seventh decade of his life and is bearing signs of old age. A wealthy and connected man, he uses his riches and contacts to help improve the lives of others and advance the world forward of out kindness.

Benjamin Davidson is a Canuck male in his third decade. While he has grown up in a reasonable well-off home environment, he recently lost his parents and has started to pick fights with those who would abuse others on the street.

The last choice is Eleanor Allen, a Canuck female in her second decade. With unearned confident, Eleanor is an assertive and social native. With her mother dying in childbirth and her father fleeing when that happened, Eleanor and her younger sister lived with her grandfather. However, her grandfather recently died, leaving Eleanor and her sister on their own.

For this vote, you get to give a power to one of three random characters I rolled up or keep it for yourself for now. While I have some potential storylines for each one, at the moment, they are blank characters that I came up with today to have their story be developed in this quest.

For each set of vote options, pick one and add any restrictions to the power to limit what it can do both now and in the future. You don't have to add any restrictions if you don't want to and if you do, examples would be things like can't be used against the Guardian or weaknesses like can only be used when exposed to sunlight.

[x] [Heal] Zoey Hudson
-[x] [Heal] Power comes with a slight connection to the owner of the Adaptation power. First simply telling direction and distance, then allowing mental connection if they meet and accept eachother.

[x] [Adapt] Benjamin Davidson
-[x] [Adapt] Power comes with a slight connection to the owner of the Healing power. First simply telling direction and distance, then allowing mental connection if they meet and accept eachother.

[x] [Tech] Bailey West
-[x] [Tech] Any information gathered by this power gets sent to you.
-[x] [Tech] Power has a dormant "connection" similar to the Healing and Adaptation power, waiting for you to choose a partner for this user.

Kind of a running limitation with our powers, each empowered person gets a connection to one of the other hosts, basically pairing them up. Starts with a general sense of where they are, then may allow communication and such if they meet together.

Chose to pair up two Canadians since they might be kinda close by, and I think adaptation could use a healer and a healer could use someone to defend them.

Trying to think of reasons why we would use restrictions. What would a person with an unrestricted Power be able to do, as far as we know?

[X] [Tech] Isaac Barrett
-[X] [Tech] No restrictions.

The power right now isn't all that impressive, so I see no reason to restrict it further. Repair Man go! Unless he decides to interface with nuke control systems, I suppose. Could add something here for safety in that case.

[X] [Adapt] Eleanor Allen
-[X] [Adapt] Power has a visible effect; skin hardening to rock-like material, or poison resistance giving it a greenish tint. The stronger the resistance, the more noticeable the effects.

My reasoning? We know very little about this world. We'll want to see how people react to and treat someone who looks different thanks to her powers. It'll also no doubt bring her to the attention of other gifted - including the enemy's, so we can see how they fare in battle. It's a bit of a scientific experiment, maybe cruel, but we have a war to win.

[X] [Heal] Zoey Hudson
-[X] [Heal] The user feels (a lesser version of) the pain the ones she's healing are feeling.

This both helps toughen her up for the challenges ahead and creates empathy for her patients, helping her be a better healer. If it's not out of reach of the power, she could get some of their emotions as well?

-[x] [Heal] Power comes with a slight connection to the owner of the Adaptation power. First simply telling direction and distance, then allowing mental connection if they meet and accept eachother.

Since these aren't drawbacks and are more minor boosts, they aren't valid restrictions as they don't actually limit the power.

If it's not out of reach of the power, she could get some of their emotions as well?

You could to both, but it would limit the amount of pain she can feel as there would only be so much pain or emotion that power is able to make her fill before it hits its limit.

We could for adaption make it phycical also but two forms can switch to himself as a human and one form thats monster like that stores the resistance if he is not using it what you think?
It does not decay when not in use and a base line human form that uses the charge to heal if injured and human when not healing is like power saving mode?

That would count as a new power or two and not a restriction.

A restriction is always a drawback. You don't directly benefit from it as it is a limitation of your power.

What about two forms and having a limited time in the power form? Or having the skin becoming more porcelin like The stronher the charge?

You could limit it so the Adaption power only works for a limited time, but two forms is beyond what the Adaption power is currently capable of.

Edit: A second form would count as a new aspect to the power and would require a level up to get it. That said, barring unlikely circumstances, you would need to choose that upgrade after levelling up the Adaption power while using your Avatar.
