Welcome Inquisitor! To the brand new Ordos Proelium, an order dedicated to destroying the Daemon, The Heretic, and the Xenos. We are the jack of all trades group of the Ordos, and we can request assistance from them if needed. But anyways, let's get down to the paperwork here.

Hmmm so I have been watching this one youtube series that tells the story of a Dark Heresy game where there is a character who is the Inquisitorial equivalent of professor Oak and...well I'm wondering if we can't create a similar set up.

Wow, overwhelming support for Wings Of Iron. I take it everyone's ready to start?
Seems like it, also quick question I personally have a plan for a bit of a side operation for when we aren't doing a main inquisition operation. It goes roughly like this
  1. Have agents go about the sector collecting potentially talented people no one will miss (a dozen last survivors of a Guardsman regiment, a couple tech acolytes, paper pushers who's jobs are redundant, assorted ganger and the like).
  2. Draft said people into the Inquisition and give them a crash course on how to be inquisitorial agents.
  3. Separate these people into teams that can act as a relatively balanced Inquisitorial retinue.
  4. Assign these teams to Inquisition Acolytes who need some leadership experience as they do minor inquisition stuff.
  5. Do this until the teams either die, become part of the Acolyte's retinue once they are promoted to full Inquisitor or show enough talent to become Inquisition Acolytes themselves. Alternatively they are slotted into our main operations as experienced agents.
would we be able to do this?

You're a bleeding inquisitor, of course ye can.
I was more talking in terms of time and resource investment, although it probably wouldn't be that resource intensive since the overall idea is for a rather Darwinian sort of method with the mere survival of these recruits likely being enough to warrant them being promoted. Although the tricky part will be getting the Blacksites for the training and the like.

Amelia Novella, Saint Of Iron
It was a calm day on the planet of Deimos II, skies were clear and no sign of heretical intent. Though there was one thing still nagging at you, why did they need to forge a new Ordos? Sure there were some inter-service rivalry here and there, but it wasn't bad enough that a full fledged militant branch needed to be formed.

Still, it was an honor to do the Emperor's work.

While you were in the midst of your thinking, the ship you were on finally landed. The craft's door soon opened, and you were welcomed by a red robed Techpriest.

"Welcome Saint Amelia, it is an honor to meet you." The Techpriest had a few mechanical arms hanging from their back, armed with analytical tools and whatnot. "Oh and how rude of me, I am Inquisitor Carolus. I was appointed to be your assistant, if you'll have me."

"You'll do a fine job Carolus, now any incoming orders?" The Techpriest paused for a moment, before answering your question.

"Yes, but first I must ask of you to take a look around your new fortress." Nodding, you followed him as he showed you around the newly created fortress. Shrines of the Emperor and Omnissiah decorated the halls, and there were a few other Techpriests hared at work building something.

"The Eversor's cage, made to keep it in stasis until needed." He gestured, and you could see the Assassin resting within the chamber. "Personally I find them unnerving, I much prefer the calm precision of the Vindicare." Moving on from that, you finally made it to the Command Center of the Fortress.

"Here is where you'll command your soldiers from, now what is our first order of business Inquisitor?" Carolus asked, his head bowed in respect and his team working silently in the background.

If I understand 40k correctly, gear is the difference between mook and named character.
