Also, I did the math.

Torpor= 1+(0.5* Faith) rounded up
1 Faith= 1+(0.5* 1) = 1.5 -> 2 Torpor
2 Faith= 1+(0.5* 2) = 2 Torpor
3 Faith= 1+(0.5* 3) = 2.5 -> 3 Torpor
4 Faith= 1+(0.5* 4) = 3 Torpor
5 Faith= 1+(0.5* 5) = 3.5 -> 4 Torpor
6 Faith = 4 Torpor
7 Faith = 5 Torpor
8 Faith = 5 Torpor
9 Faith = 6 Torpor
10 Faith = 6 Torpor

So there's an increase in Torpor every two tiers of Faith. It might not seem like much, but at 9/10 Faith: You can get a 24 Legend purchase in only 4 turns of sleep. Something to think about.

Torpor is a mechanic that allows discounts to how long you sleep, by determining how much Legend is spent per turn.

So, a default Faith 1 spirit would have 2 Torpor. Meaning? If you sleep for Ashform (which is 10 Legend), you only spend 2 Legend per turn until it's obtained. So 5 turns of nothing but sleeping. However, if you have Faith 10, you'll have 6 Torpor. Meaning that you spend 6 Legend per turn until it's obtained. So you'll only sleep for 2 turns.

Basically, Torpor was added so that Faith gods don't constantly get ganked by lucky Fear gods who don't need to sleep.

Gotta put in the effort at the other village to show we appreciate their worship, then we should sleep for ashform. Once we have a body we can actually move bits of stuff around to do the ritual.

Depends on what trait we want but faith 3 is a minimum I would want for the 5 legend traits, faith 5 for the 8 legend

Depending on what we went for I could easily see favoring a plan that involved either taking actions that matched the trait so that it may reduce the cost and or have resonance when we return with it.

That or just accept we lose some time and come back cooler. Aka My death god is a Phoenix made of ash, what's your God? A tree?
