I also forgot to mention that we wanna learn biomancy, which also might be a little anti-synergetic with cybernetics, but it is prolly a bit late to insert that one. That said, Jujutsu works pretty reasonably with items in general, it's just biomancy I have [d] doubts about.

With this being set in part 1, with a harsh enforced timeline, worrying overly much about part 2 sensibilities is prolly pointless.

In general, I feel that whole "Can keep up" with Val episode is fairly extraordinary happenstance for Gojo. I simply feel like that getting buried or forgotten would be a disservice to the effort of faithfully portraying his character, even if it is not an immediate issue we need to act upon.
