  • I hope you are enjoying/enjoyed our discussion. Who are the interpreters who've superseded Kaufmann, if you don't mind my asking? I have his big book on Nietzsche, but I haven't read it yet. I like his prefaces and notes a lot, though. I *really* like Heidegger's reading of Nietzsche.

    An idiosyncratic interpretation, but because of that, one of my favourite books on Nietzsche of the last decade, is "The flame of eternity" by Krzysztof Michalski. An English translation is out, obviously. Also, Jessica Berry's "Nietzsche and the Ancient Skeptical Tradition" totally changed how I saw Nietzsche. As a uni student I had access to both, but I'm not sure if it's easy to get a hold on if you're not.
