    Really love your deeps wells story, the writing style reminds me of Bernard Cornwell.

    I ain't gonna lie to you, pal. Bernard Cornwell is straight up 50% of the inspiration (the other 50% is Christian Cameron, who I also recommend wholeheartedly for you, if you like Cornwell,) and his "I wanted to do for the Napoleonic land campaigns what Horatio Hornblower did for the sea fights" is absolutely spot on.
