  • Does anyone know where it's possible to reread Space pirate king? Is it being turned into a published book? It seems to have disappeared from this site.
So regarding Separated at Birth, before Black Lambs Blood, how did the Drakia affect the global abolitionist movements? Because I imagine their cruelty to black and white alike would make great anti abolitionist propaganda, even if you didn't consider black people equal, the horrors of the Drakia should at leas make people rethink the whole peculiar instiution.
So regarding Separated at Birth, it focuses on the big picture, but have you ever wondered how the avrage Draka citizen turns out? I imagine a lifetime of endless violence leaves you an emotional wreck constantly self-medicating, plus the agoge program means that any abolitonist is movement is going to be a serious effort to contend with.

I explored the H. Drakensis experience a bit with Anchises and his fellow supermen. It's less extreme for the average ordinary Drakian, but still not an environment that is sympathetic towards failure. There's a lot of pressure to bury your emotions, never apologize, and never acknowledge failure, and blame victims for their problems.
Hey, I really like SPK, is it cool if I write some (non-canon) CIA dossier on all 24 humans within Grunberg's forces when he arrived? Sorry, the concept is just too cool.

Also, no rush but when do you think it will start back up again?
    EBR
    EBR
Sure, I'd love to see what you come up with.

I'm not sure when it'll start up again- I've been meaning to try and get it published but RL has gotten in the way and I'm honestly not entirely sure how to go about it. I will get back to SPK at some point though, I've mapped out the entire storyline already.
What sites have you been shifting to?
    EBR
    EBR
Mostly just RL. I'm married and have a new teaching job, so I'm fairly busy. But I'm planning to post a new thing on SB in the not too distant future.
Hello. I'm a really huge fans of your writing on AH.com. Fucking sucks how they treated you over there. We lost a great contributor to ASB since you are unjustly banned

Thank you! Anything you enjoyed in particular? Quite frankly I'm happy to be done with Ian and his bigotry.

Your Israeli series in Vivere Militare Est, and your other writings for Rvbomally stuff. As well as your contributions for AEEUSG
    EBR
    EBR
Ah, yeah I had fun coming up with that Israel series. It's nice to sometimes put one's historical familiarity with a region to work.
Merry Christmas! Or belated Happy Hanukkah 🕎!

    EBR
It's still Hanukkah, thank you. :) Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to you too.
Weird question: How do you imagine writing "Separated at Birth" if, rather than having them set up in South Africa like in Stirling's book, you borrowed Jared's ideas from "Decades of Darkness" and had Alt-USA become Not!Draka instead?
    EBR
    EBR
Sorry, I only just saw this. With SaB I tried to channel the worst of the OTL British Empire in Africa and Asia, dialed up to eleven. With a Not!Draka USA I'd have gone for more USA-esque evil- no martial races or princely states, instead you'd have mass settler colonialism against Mexico and expanded not!slavery sharecropping, and things like that. It would look like a less silly version of What Madness Is This?
Last night I had a dream about rereading your "Separated at Birth," except the Final War was even worse: perhaps due to all the space gun bombardment, mid-war, some supervolcanoes erupted.

I remember thinking that the volcano eruptions earlier in the timeline (like the one that caused the Icelandic migration to Drakia; I think there were more in the dream version?) nicely prefigured that.
    EBR
    EBR
Gosh, given how apocalyptic things ended up in SaB due to environmental damage I can't imagine how much worse it would all be with supervolcanos plural shooting off. That's real "collapse of civilization" stuff.
Hi EBR, just wanted to say that it was total BS that you got banned from the-forum-that-shall-not-be-named, but I 100% respect you for sticking to your guns there. I'm glad I can still follow your projects on this site!

Hey Man, I just saw what happened in Ah.com, I'd just like to say that was a shame and that I respect your works.
Any new projects on the horizon, or are you taking a break from big stuff at the moment?
    EBR
    EBR
Reviving the Space Pirate King and eventually doing this small-town ISOT I have planned. Short break atm though, and we'll see how much I can get done once graduate school starts.
Question, have you thought of putting "bring me men to match my mountains" on sufficient velocity?
    EBR
    EBR
Yes, I keep meaning to do that.
Sorry if I shouldn't be asking this, but I'm curious how the next chapter of Separated at Birth is coming along? Still fighting you?
    EBR
    EBR
I finished the rough draft, I just need to edit it and get it in shape to post.
I have a question, Will you import your other timelines like your emberverse timeline and the rest from AH.com?
    EBR
    EBR
That's... a good idea. I should probably do that.
I just had a great idea for how Kaiser Wilhelm could end up by 1944 (in DRM). Let's just say that it involves the German Pacific, the preservation of the cream of the German race, an angry Netherlands, genocide, katanas, a military coup, exile, the Black Dragon Society and Australia. In no particular order of course.

    EBR
That sounds badass. Message me with the details!
I just realized something in Stars and Stripes Forever - your Navajo leader's "Luke Johnson". Last we saw him was in The Falcon Cannot Hear.
Was that a shout-out, or will he be a recurring mainstay across your threads?

    Follow up question:
Did Ralph Peters' novels have anything to do with III Corps' survival in the Texas entry of SaSF?
    EBR
    EBR
I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Ralph Peters' novels.
    Mazeka
    Mazeka
    Huh. Weird. Never mind then.
