And thus once again we discover, even in sci fi settings, that the only thing more worrying than a dragon where one should not be, is the notable absence of a dragon where you think one should be, either in physical presence or in expected behaviour. It raises all sorts of alarming questions, not least of which is "if it's not here/behaving as expected, where is it, and why?"
