Twinned Thought, a sequel to Building Faith (Dresden Files SI)

New reader here, if it's one update a year hoping that comes soon! Please don't be discouraged about low viewership.

Satan Sent Me to Save Capitalism from Catholics: Let's Read David Weber's Safehold

    Books Action
I must admit I have a soft spot for Safehold as I read the first two-thirds of the books when I was a teenager rapidly ideologically pivoting from a far-right Republican Mormon upbringing into... not that. There's a lot of parallels in any high-control religious organization, so I read a lot...

Belts, Flutes and Dragons (Let's Read Deltora Quest and direct sequels)

    Discussion
As a prodigious childhood reader, I read Deltora when I was probably seven or eight? So long ago I'd almost totally forgotten I ever read them at all. I think I only read the first series, too. There's a lot more here than I remember, and I never knew there was an anime at all.

What are controversial gaming opinions you have?

    Discussion
In that case you might love POE2 even in its early access form-- currently respecs are done using the ingame gold currency which only gets used in-account (no trading it around other than horrendously inefficient item trading at a significant loss). Respeccing a few points at a time is downright...

What's the most Cringeworthy Alternate History you've ever read?

    Post-1900
Whoever this is clearly doesn't remember the US banana republics and basically everyone in the New World declaring war on the Axis.

Unpopular opinions we have on fiction

You might like Modesitt's Imager Portfolio, then. The MC of the first trilogy starts as an apprentice portraiture artist in a guild.

    Dead Engines

    Original Fantasy
I read this after it was recommended in the Monthly Picks, short but excellent. I look forwards to its expansion to a novel.

    The Politics of Tabletop RPGs

Don't forget that the dwarves and shadow people apparently had a genocidal war sometime in the not-too-far past that's now over but both sides are still very much not over it.

    Dragon Age General Thread

    Megathread
Finished Veilguard. IMO it's a 7/10. The first act to Weisshaupt and the third act are strong, but the second act really drags and the fact you can't talk to your companions whenever you want and only at predesigned points in the main quest or their companion quests feels like a massive step...

    Dragon Age General Thread

Mans got recruited to the Fantasy Avengers based solely on "this <insert faction here> low-level person is absolutely fucking batshit good at killing things but retains a moral compass I can work with" by Varric, explicitly because Solas didn't work with Rook in Inquisition and had never heard...

Lets Read: World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War

It's called canister shell and it's a standard to have a couple shells of this in your average Abrams loadout. Brooks either doesn't know about it or somehow once the caliber of a gun goes above .50 it becomes magically useless against zombies. And it's especially hilarious that the excuse is...
