• I may of mentioned it before, but I had been trying to work out how to use some ideas from the merchant quest for a roguelike game.

    I am at the point I can write down concepts and practice on other, simple games first at least, to learn programming.

    weight, skills, and contracts are three very good systems for a game.

    Thanks. I never actually stopped thinking they are, but for an rpg when you have to keep track of everything manually, they are too much. I never considered that when making the system.

    maybe something closer to a visual novel or narrative quest would work better for forum stuff.

    After I practice making simple games for experience, I can explore this and see what fits.
