    But nonetheless this is what the Deceivers believe. They shall free us from the Lie even if we fight them to preserve it every step of the way, even if they have to hurt us terribly to do it, for they love us, they love the Tao of us, the being of us, the underlying True Thing of us and they shall free us from the Lie that is the world, no matter the cost.

    I always found the Deceivers to be the most interesting characters. Strategists are straight-forward. They get it right, at least arguably -- they've realised that the world is Wrong, and they're going to fix it. Or at least, y'know, get rid of it.

    But the deceivers?

    You can only be right in one way. You can be mistaken in an infinitude of different ways.
