Did.... did Grayven just put a piece of himself inside her?

No, not in a lewd way obviously. But as he said, he altered her nascent divine nature to be a bit more like him.

I guess that really does make her his daughter.

Conqueror's Pride. The girl cringes for a second, no doubt a response conditioned from long hours of Anti-Life exposure. When Zatanna's magic healed me, she channelled raw and unrefined arcane energy into me. What I force into the girl is formatted, shaped to the God of Conquest. The disgust at the notion of bowing my head, the urge to grow in power and authority. The absolute rejection of the idea of being controlled by another. Strictly speaking, this is an attack. I'm forcibly altering her nascent divine nature.

You know I didn't think Graven could top taunting Zeus in the not caring about long term consequences territory.

Then he goes and proves me wrong by infecting the most powerful reality warping metahuman in the DCAU with an unending drive for conquest.

An avatar of avarice.

I don't mean that as a joke. He literally is a herald of the Ophidian, seeking to bring enlightened self-interest to the universe at large.
Actually as he has the Ophidian's soul, he's an avatar in a more literal sense; an extension, fragment or projection of a godlike being. Not just a herald.

Because the Anti-Life Equation is soooo much better.

She only became a reality warper later, after her power grew to become uncontroled and beyonf what her body could handle.
There's no certainty that her growth here will take the same path.

peaking out at Barda as she kneels down
I think that should be "peeking out", but someone already bet me to it.
The punctuation is inconsistently colored. This might very well be a deliberate move to show she's getting less overwhelmingly terrified, but maybe not.

"Then what happens?"

"I… Don't know, I'm afraid. Given your power as a telepath… Probably 'whatever you want'.
Haha! Love this part.

"Okay. You're free now. You're never going back."
DAWWW!

And I'm not fucking having that.
HELL YEAH!

This is officially my favorite Renegade update of them all. Which is, ironically, because he's having one of his most Paragon moments. I think that Grayven being so good at the Renegade shtick makes it all the more notable when he steps outside his comfort zone.

With an unending drive for conquest.

There any proof that she'll have an unending desire for conquest? Because I don't think that's what was implied. I think he just put some of his soul into hers in order to Awaken her. That doesn't mean that his soul, which IS attuned to conquest, will remain that way when it interacts with HER soul.

I could be wrong. I mean, maybe her soul, when interacting with his, will manifest as she Awakens into something involving conquest, a mixture of his soul's attunement with hers. Maybe she'll be the New God of Domination? Or the New God of the Jedi Mind Trick? :p Or maybe she will Awaken as something entirely different, and that all he did was act as a catalyst to jumpstart her Awakening.

Look at your quote again.
It makes her refuse to be controlled, and gives her a drive to grow stronger.
It says nothing about conquering other people, or suggest that said power and authority has to be expressed as control over externalities.

And frankly, for a telepath who was due to develop into an uncontrolled reality warper?
Making her stubborn enough to reject outside attempts at control + making her ambitious enough to learn to master her own power?
Is a GOOD thing.
