    The world ended in the year of Revelation.

    And from the ashes a new world arose, the old order was gone, yet its ruins cast long shadows upon this new world.
    The Blood Princes were cast down for their hubris, the empires of old are but ink on aged vellum, a tale of caution and a tool of the ambitious. The dwellers of the wilds vie with the successor lords for crowns and sceptres. The fabled lands of the east are a battleground of kings and petty god things.

    Yet for all its chaos, there is wonder and glory in this new world. For chivalry and cruelty coincide in the land, the virtuous guided by miracles, the wicked call upon the profane arts. The old ones give wisdom and power to those that seek them. Omens and portents show the path that each may take, and artefacts of the fallen world dot the landscape.

    The eternal empire forever shattered the elven tribes, only those that submitted or were subjugated live today. immortal they may not, but centuries of life are theirs, a gift they have used to become mighty indeed.

    The eternal empire saw the orcs as nought but savages on the borderlands. now the empire is dead and the orcs pick over the scraps of the carcass.

    The setting is a mix of both early and late medieval Europe /Mediterranean society, with both fantasy and historical myths incorporated into it, so keep that in mind. This also means that your choices and potential are constrained to the setting, and to deviate from it would require extraordinary dedication.

    The eternal empire was an empire centred around the eternal city. most of its early history is shrouded in myth and legend, but it is known that by the year 500 before the Ascension the eternal city became the eternal empire, and ruled the world. The Blood Princes where its magistrates and all that is in this new world is but built on the bones of the empire. Its tongue is the language of faith, its laws are the basis of all laws, and all vie for the empty title of Emperor.
