The legend of a true hero.
Starting Post
I was a young boy of 9 years when that man came into my village.

Ours was a very small village, having less than a hundred people. During those times a village of that size was at risk of being attacked by forces seeking tto profit off of its lack of abillity to defend itself from threats. We couldn't count on our lord to protect us; even our best riders would take half a day simply to notify him of the attack. And as I would learn that day, a village as small as ours could be nearly destroyed in just a couple of hours by a well-organized bandit group.

The bandits were known as the Thrakimos, a group of marauders notable in our dukedom for nothing excepting their cruelty towards their victims. While the scoundrels of other groups often left their targets with enough food to survive the winter, the Thrakimos would kill those they didn't leave alive to sell into slavery directly if they were feeling "merciful". While other groups would spend their ill-gotten gains on women of the night to satisfy their appetites, the Thrakimos would sate their desires on the wives and daughters of the conquered every time without fail.

As I was cowering in my shabby home with my mother by my side as the fighting raged outside, I remember hoping against hope that something, anything would save us from these bandits. In my heart though, I knew that my life would be cut short here or spent toiling in abject misery. The fighting eventually died down, with all of the men able to fight having been slain or surrendered. We were led outside at the point of a spear to where the Thrakimos waited to reap the rewards of their victory, blood still dripping from their axes.

Yes, child, it has been a sad story so far. But fret not. For when I was led outside, I heard the sound of thunder even though the sky was clear. Then, there was a flash of light, and before my very eyes a man appeared. He wore simple clothes, much like us peasants, but I could tell immediately that he was different from us. The man took a moment to observe his surroundings, and then said in a clear but accented voice directed at the Thrakimos, "You lot seem to have caused this destruction. Might I ask why it is you have done this?"

One of the Thrakimos, presumably the leader stepped forward with a laugh and exclaimed, "Well lads, those may be the strangest last words I've e'er heard spoken! What say we kill this fool and get on with the plunder!"

One of his subordinates spoke up: "I-I dunno boss. The man just appeared out of thin air! What if he's a mage?"

"Ah, quit being a little mouse Kelliam, no mage would bother with a shitty town like-" The leader could not finish his sentence as the stranger rushed forth and in the blink of an eye punched the bandit in the stomach. It seemed as if all of the air in his lungs were forced out in an instant. Another blink later and the stranger jumped into the air and kicked the bandit in his scraggly-bearded face dropping him to the ground.

[] Kill most of the bandits but spare those who beg for mercy
[] Kill only those who do not attempt to to flee instantly
[] Write-in

[X] beat the leader to the inch of his life then dare the others to take you on.
