You groan. Unfortunatly for you, groaning hurts your everything. Or maybe your everything just hurts.

You're not sure what happened. You think... there was a meeting? Or something. It was full of Mages, and then... something. You think something went wrong, and then it went white, and then it went black. And now you're here, in some sort of... city? Well that's good, cities mean people, and people means that you're somewhere that can support life.

You try to remember. Those mages... were you one?

All Reality Deviants will be reeducated by the Man in Black to know how magnets work.

I would prefer the Progenitors or Iteration X, really, but for the sake of consolidation and at least as long as one of the Technocratic Conventions wins:

You sit up, stifling another groan. The city looks american, or at least anglo, though you can't be sure. You're on the edge of a park. A shitty park too, the ground has litter scattered across it, and the trees look rather sad. They haven't started getting their leaves back yet, but despite that it's not that cold out.

You see a man walking down the street, and decide that it would be best to see about getting some information from him. After all, you're a member of

[] The Agents
-[] Choose Mind, Time, or Fate.

[] The Watchers
-[] Choose Data (Mind-Correspondence fusion sphere), Correspondence, Mind, or Time

[] The Ivory Tower
-[] Choose Mind, Data, Correspondence, or Memes (Mind/Prime fusion Sphere)

The Sphere that you choose is now rated at 2. Your Enlightenment is now rated at 2. You may choose to improve these stats at this point in time, or you may choose not to do so. You have X points. Increasing a sphere or Enlightenment costs 1 per level, except for levels four and five, which cost two and three per level, respectively. However, the sphere that you choose above costs one less for these levels. Your Sphere ratings may not exceed your Enlightenment. Therefore, increasing a sphere to 3 costs a total of 2, increasing it to 4 costs a total of 6, and increasing it to 5 costs a total of 12. You have 14 points to spend. For the sphere that you choose above, it instead costs 2, 5, and 10, for levels 3, 4, and 5.

Do you want to spend points?
[] Yes
-[] Build plan

[] No

For reference, the spheres available to you as a NWO member are as follows:

Correspondence (the science of connections between things, including surveillance and movement)
Data (The science of data, be it far away, in a mind, or in a computer)
Dimensional Science (The science of alternate dimensions)
Fate (The science of probability)
Forces (The science of forces, from fire to magnets to radiation.)
Life (the science of living things)
Matter (the science of inert matter)
Memes (the science of ideas and how they effect people)
Mind (the science of minds)
Primal Utility (the science of economics)
Prime (the science of science)
Time (the science of time)

[X] The Ivory Tower
-[X] Choose Memes (Mind/Prime fusion Sphere)

Literally Meme Magic Memenomics.

On a more serious note, the Mind/Meme Sphere will be the most help to our unnamed protagonist at this moment, as he is in an unknown city without resources. Of course, by applying Enlightened Psychology, he will be able to quickly rectify his problem.

Do you want to spend points?
[X] Yes

He should invest in Correspondence, a must have for any shadowy secret agent.

I would be partial to Data myself, the Mind/Correspondence fusion.

If this is what I think it is I want to get matter. Transmute the bottom of a swamp to pure sodium metal.:D Preferably with an opponent on top.

Right, it would be instead:

-[X] Enlightenment 2->3. 1pt
-[X] Memes 2->3. 1pt
-[X] Data 0->1. 1pt
-[X] Data 1->2. 1pt
-[X] Data 2->3. 1pt
-[X] Fate 0->1 1pt
-[X] Prime 0->1 1pt
-[X] Correspondence 0->1 1pt

8 points spent, with 6 more to spend. Should it be spent on increasing Enlightenment further, perhaps, to a full 5, with 1 point for increasing another sphere? Should the points be spent instead on some other spheres, perhaps Mind, Time, or Primal Utility?

Ah, misunderstood. Edited to include 6 more points, buying up all the spheres to 3.

Rather than singularly powerful effects, we can run with the powerful combined spheres instead.

Does this work?
1. Go into Fate sphere
2. Get probability sensory/altering
3. Go to a casino
4. Profit.

"Excuse me sir," you say in a tone of voice carefully calibrated to prevent suspicion. "What city is this again? And what country?"

With your knowledge of micro-expressions, you can see him attempt to suspect you of being on drugs or something, until your hyper-psychology wins out and wipes away his paranoia. "It's Brockton Bay, America."

Well, that's... informative. You know that there's no city of this size named Brockton Bay in America, or, for that matter, anywhere else. Which means that the explosion either sent you across dimensions, or you're dreaming. You pinch yourself, showing that you're not dreaming, which leaves only the alternate dimension theory. The bad part? If this is the Void, then you have a limited amount of time to survive before you die, about three months. On the other hand, if this is merely an alternate reality, you can survive indefinitely.

Therefore, the first order of business is to learn as much as you can about this world, to try to see if you're in the Void or an alternate reality. Therefore, you need a computer. A quick look around tells you where a library should be, given normal american building patterns, and you set off to begin learning.

It's child's play to talk your way into a guest account despite your lack of local identification. Logging on, you begin hyper-cramming as quickly as the old computer can load. You quickly learn that this world is similar to your own, except that the Technocracy and Reality Deviants don't seem to be around, at least, not that you can find. On the other hand, in the 80's a golden man known as Scion showed up, followed by people across the globe gaining powers during stressful situations. Unlike your world, this did not remain secret, instead warping the world to be almost unrecognizable.

Africa and the Middle East have fallen into parahuman feudalism, and despite the propaganda, you'd wager that the rest of the world will follow. This is only exaggerated by a trio of creatures known as the Endbringers that appear and attack cities once every few months, preventing governments from cracking down on violent parahumans, as they could well be the last line of defense in any city.

Locally, you get information about the local parahuman presence, and it's not good. There are three main gangs, the E88, ABB, and Merchants, all of which are terrible in their own way. There are two teams on the side of law and order, the Protectorate and New Wave. However, due to the threat of the Endbringers and power of the gangs, they don't bother trying to do much beyond stopping the gangs from openly ruling the streets.*

You also get your phone into the local internet, which is quite useful for future research and as a conduit of Procedures.

You now have to decide what to do. You could use your Enlightened Science to help shore up society, either on your own or as part of the Protectorate. If you're going it alone, you could either go legit, as a vigilante of sorts, or go underground, similar to what the Enforcers did back home. The only problem is that your abilities aren't very good for direct action; you don't have any explosives or anything. You do know how to make some kinds of energy weapon, but they tend to be less good, requiring more energy for less effect than normal weapons. On the bright side, you're quite good at messing with computers and minds, and can make gadgets to that effect. You're also good at surveillance, finding out hidden information, and calculating probabilities. From the outside it looks that you're really lucky, but you know better. Oh, and you can make a teleporter.

The only problem is that everything beyond your phone will require resources to make, leaving you with a good number of options related to hacking, hyper-psychology, and hyper-statistics but no lasers, teleporters, and the like.

What's your plan?

*You now know more information about Brockton Bay and America than the average guy on the streets. Any future research will be quick, so don't make a plan centered on doing research. With your abilities, it would be over within an hour for almost anything.

Hm, a difficult question. Counter-intelligence and covert, indirect operations and the like would be best I think, as a member of the New World Order, especially with our abilities. I would really rather not join the Protectorate. Let us go underground, like the Syndicate's Enforcers. From there, we can build our own group, to act as an extension of the Technocracy and gather the necessary resources. They will be able to act directly where we cannot.

We should play it like Coil. Arrange civ ID, arrange funds, then create organization. We really should avis protectorate since we are not parhuman and that would raise flags..
