Hey this is my first time on this site, so be gentle.

This Quest is based on the book He Who...
Clan Choice

Fifth Dimension
Hey this is my first time on this site, so be gentle.

This Quest is based on the book He Who Leads and further expands the world presented. It's story will be referenced but mostly as a 'world history' and 'that happened' time of deal, unless the choices made somehow end up intertwining with it heavily.

It's heavily fantasy based with some science fiction attached, and the book (and thus by default the world) is pretty high level in combat. Time period is vague but definitely in the past where tribes and clans of people were mostly nomadic with a chieftain type rule. The science fiction aspect does heavily affect the technology level though, as do the powers given by the fantasy setting.

Alright, here it goes.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Within the past decade, the world as it is known has been drastically changed. The balance has been corrupted, shifted, obliterated, and thus so has the structure of civilization. Tales of the events are split, relaying completely different messages depending on the source. The elders pinpoint it as a lesson of why not to ignore tradition. The younger adults simplify it as a large scale power struggle, and the young, they romanticize it as the start of a new age, as THE decade that will define the cosmos, and as a new beginning.

No matter the source, the rough outline of what took place is grandiose, likely heavily hyperbolic, and described as a war between kings and gods. They say that mere men fought against the planet and the stars, that for a brief moment, not only did the planet go dark, but so did the sun. They say that demons as large as mountains rose from the depths of hell and wiped out all who were unworthy and that Death itself and Power Incarnate materialized on the battlefield.

It's impossible to know exactly what happened without asking those who were involved, and even that comes with the doubts of hyperbole and the feeling of "history is written by the victors". What's more, a vast majority of people involved are dead and not many have mastered such a skill (of controlling and talking to the residents of the underworld).

But what is known, what is undeniable and undisputed are the following facts:

The Orion and Gaea Clans were decimated, and their leaders slaughtered in a single battle with the Akachi Clan.

The Yakuza Clan was all but wiped out in an effort to defend themselves from an attacker of some sort.

The Ongaku Clan was annihilated akin to a targeted genocide and only a few handfuls of them exist any longer.

The Akachi Clan has thrived throughout all of this, claiming victory against the Orion and Gaea Clans and the so-called 'Demons' that attacked. They have established the first village, the first stationary society, and continue to experience growth under their current chief, Amare, who is alleged to have led through these calamities, and cut the heads off of the 'Demons' himself.

But that, that is ancient history. What matters now is the present. You've had enough of dwelling on the past, and were eager to be reborn and make your own path in this world. To build your own future. So as you stare into the mirror you see:

[] Yellow-tinted skin and jet black hair. You were the remnants of the Yakuza Clan.
[] Determined eyes filled with rhythm and soul. One of the few survivors of the Ongaku Clan
[] Fire and mystery. You wield the powers of the Orion Clan.
[] Flowing water and rigid Earth. A scion of the Gaea Clan.
[] Brown skin, dark hair, and a youthful appearance. A child of the ever-victorious Akachi Clan.
[] Pale white skin and red eyes. Dreaded traits and an outcast among the Akachi Clan.
[] The Unknown, a being who belongs to no group, no clan, and no affiliation.

Brief overview of the clans as you get ready to pick:

Yakuza Clan: They're fast, they use swords well, and they have tattoos that can come to life.

Ongaku Clan: They use musical instruments to affect the minds of their opponent and the environment has a whole.

Orion Clan: Magic: Fire and Illusions, and sometimes the powers of the Sky and of the Stars.

Gaea Clan: Magic: Earth and Water generally. A rare occurrence had power over grass.

Akachi Clan: Umoya: Gives Super Sight, Super Speed, Protection against trickery, mind powers, lies, etc. and a unique power for each individual

Non-Clan: It's the most varied. You can have natural power but if you want magic like the above, you'll have to get it from another source (Which can be nearly anything).

Goals
Flowing Water and Rigid Earth stare back at you, marking you as a descendant of the great (formerly great) Gaea Clan. As a scion of Gaea, you watched and observed as your clan tore itself apart after losing its great leaders over a decade ago. Men who seemed invincible, kings and gods who held the power of the entire Earth and the Oceans in their hands. If they could fall, what hope did the rest of the clan have? All in all, the great and royal bloodline of the Gaea was exterminated and with the structure gone, the clan devolved into pure chaos.

Various factions began popping up and splitting off from the main group, each wrestling for control and the title of King. Luckily or perhaps unluckily, there was far too much balance and the power struggle was seemingly eternal, with neither faction making way. As time progressed, the clan got more and more splintered and now there was no main clan, only a group of five different factions who all claimed to be the 'True' Gaea clan.

Now, at age 17, you were finally ready to make your stand and allow yourself and your clan to be reborn from your actions. That's why your main goal in life was to:

[] Get revenge on the Akachi Clan. They were the ones who caused your clan's downfall.
[] Establish an alliance with the Orion Clan. Once you were great enemies, but now that you're both weak...
[] Unite the 5 factions under one rule. Rather that be you or...
[] Go out and establish your own faction of the Gaea Clan and bring them back to greatness
[] Prove yourself as a great warrior, challenging the best in 1 on 1 combat. With victory, came glory to the clan.

  • [X] Prove yourself as a great warrior, challenging the best in 1 on 1 combat. With victory, came glory to the clan.
[x] Go out and establish your own faction of the Gaea Clan and bring them back to greatness
[X] The old ways of clans have failed. Wander the earth in search of ascetic truth and enlightenment to influence the minds of mankind forever.

Building the Group
The younger generation of the Gaea Clan were tired of the in-fighting quite frankly. They...we felt that it wasn't our fight they were engaged in, that it was nothing but posturing between old people, those who lived in he olden days and followed the old ways that got us and them into this situation. They were rigid and unchanging, not the kind of leaders we needed.

You noticed that and acted upon and somehow became the leader of a new faction you were starting, called the New Era of the Gaea Clan. You're not sure if you're that great of a leader, but for some reason, you were voted as such. As the go-getter and one who saw the issue and had the idea of starting a separate faction, as well as the one who convinced people to join, said joiners had agreed that you were the leader.

In a way, you were the defacto leader already, but you had insisted on a vote, yet had come away with the unanimous vote in embarrassing fashion. Reluctantly you accepted and now you sat as the head of this new faction who was determined to make it and keep it as strong as possible.

Joining you in this group was (pick 2)

[] The Anomalies: Three siblings who had control of...unique aspects of the Gaea's power. That being Ice, Magma, and Sand. One of them was a fierce warrior who was determined to be the best, while another was a pacifist who aimed only to end conflict and to heal. The third and final sibling is an in-between of the other two with no real specialty. Also they're incredibly lazy. ,

[] The Weapon Master: A valiant warrior from your clan who's a master of all forms of weaponry and combat. They're even said to have a mastery of war-time strategies and anything concerning war and battle.

[] The Best Friend: He's like a rock and is always by your side no matter what. He controls Earth mostly and is a powerful warrior.

[] The Successor: One who many called the successor to the royal family. He wields both Earth and Water and does so with great aptitude and power.

You also had interest in some...outsiders who offered to help your cause. (Pick 1 at most, can pick none).

[] The Orion: A super powerful warrior from the Orion Clan, the most powerful one you've ever seen, rivaling the royal family and warriors of old.

[] The Terrible Two: Two children who couldn't be older than 12. They were brown-skinned,so there's a small chance that they're Akachi? But you doubted they'd be dumb enough to approach you if so. One of the children had discerned everything there was of the clan's situation and had offered their help. You were tentative to accept or deny such intellect, it was dangerous either way.

[] A mysterious man who held a crystal that can tell the future. He even showed you the crystal inaction though he was certainly dark and dangerous. You could just...tell by his aura. He wasn't one to mess with trivially.

But you were just starting out and had a long way to go to reach your goals.

Aulus' Faction
Magna, Gaius, and Aerius, controlling magma, sand, and ice respectively, were childhood...acquaintances. At least collectively. You were pretty good friends with Gaius, the lazy one, and were cordial with Aerius, the pacifist. Magna however never really got along with you. She saw your timidness and hesitation as a weakness rather than the cautiousness that is was. Either way, the three siblings were inseparable so when the other two joined, so did she.

Even if they hadn't, you're confident that she'd still relate to your goals and your message and would likely end up joining regardless. That's just the type of person she was, a spitfire, pun intended. As it was, the three were valuable allies and committed to the group.

Along with them, you had Omare and Kasim, two young children with brown skin who had made quite an impression on you. Kasim was quiet and reserved, but Omare...was every bit a natural born leader. He was loud, opinionated, and unfortunately (maybe fortunately? Depends on the view) fairly intelligent and observant to back it up. He was the one who had broken down the clan and their workings to you and laid out that you needed their help. You doubted two small children could do much, but they did just show you up so who were you to judge? Also they did hold an air about themselves that instilled you with confidence in their abilities.

The other member of your small group, also from the Gaea Clan was out at the moment, so were a smaller and weaker group than usual. This left you with only one real option at the moment as far as confronting the other factions went, and that was Aulus and his group.

Aulus was an old warhawk, a former warrior of the Gaea who lamented not being able to join the 'War of Gods and Kings' as he (they?) called it. He harps on and on about how he would've changed the tide for the Gaea and wiped out both the Akachi and Orion clans. No one seemed to take him serious, so you were unsure about his power, but he was persuasive enough in his rhetoric of what the clan's next move was. Aulus's faction was small, but it had experience, a lot of older retired warriors and older people in general backed him and his pursuit to wipe out what's left of the Orion Clan, the old rivals of your clan, and to topple the Akachi Clan.

Only through their downfall could the Gaea rise up again. Or so he says. You didn't want to fight with him, but if need be...his numbers could be helpful when challenging the other, more powerful factions.

But first you had to figure out how to approach him.

[] Agree with him and promise that once the Gaea Clan is on top, you will wipe out the Orion and Akachi Clan (lie)
[] Agree with him and promise that once the Gaea Clan is on top, you will wipe out the Orion and Akachi Clan (Truth)
[] Tell him this is not the way, and that the Clan had to reunite and build before worrying about others
[] Challenge him to a 1v1 duel to determine who's correct
[] Challenge his faction to an all out battle
[] Ask the others in your faction their thoughts
[] Wait for your other Gaea member to return

Aulus' Faction: Group Thoughts
You had a few ideas for Aulus, but nothing concrete, so you thought to put your faction members to good use. Turning to your fellow faction-mates, you scan the two separate groups, and decide to ask the Gaea Clan members first. They'd be more familiar with Aulua and hopefully would have some insight.

"Magna." You say suddenly, causing her to look up at you with fiery golden eyes. Her brown, spotted hair whips through the air as she moves her head, surprised at your voice coming from seemingly nowhere. After the initial moment of surprise, she narrows her eyes, her dislike for you, no her annoyance at you, showing itself.

"What, oh venerable leader?" She replies sarcastically. You ignore the negative tone.

"I was thinking about Aulus..."

"What about him? He's a tired old man and by far the easiest to take out. You shouldn't even waste breath on him." She says bluntly with a bit of a sneer.

"RIght but, he's first in line. We need time to grow and a reputation we need to build and he presents the perfect opportunity. More importantly than...thinking about him and his age, I need to think of a way to deal with him. Now we know he's hellbent on-"

"Tch. Just send me at him." She interrupts, grinning at some very violent thoughts.

"I...what?"

"Let me challenge the old far to a 1 on 1 duel, winner takes all. I'll crush him beneath my volcanic rock, and deliver the rest of his faction to you, like that." She explains, snapping her finger.

"I...what?" You respond, still taken aback.

"What's there not to get? Me fight Aulus. Me win." She mocks you with an ape-man way of speaking.

"You want to fight Aulus?" You begin.

"That's what I said." She cuts you off once more.

"The man who claims he could've changed the tide of the Clan's fate in the war many years ago." You affirm, looking at her seriously. She scoffs at your trepidation.

"Yeah, what about it? You actually believe that old coot? Thought everyone could tell he's just puffing his chest out." You nod, somewhat in agreement and then grimace.

"Yes but it if he's telling the truth...or even half of it then..."

"What you don't think I can win?" She snaps at you. You roll your eyes in exasperation.

"Aerius, talk some sense into your sister." You speak out to light-silver, almost white-haired sibling, the reason of the group. She sighs heavily and turns to her sister.

"Magna, he has a point. If Aulus is as strong as the legendary Earth King, The Grass Emperor, then not even you, nor all of us combined, could hope to win." She informs her sister politely. She then turns to you. "And Magna has a point as well. It's highly unlikely that he's even close to that level. So her plan isn't terrible...though I would prefer to talk things out. Make him see reason, that everything isn't about war and battle. Let him see that we need to take this time to heal and mend the great scars that run deep within the clan." Her words leave you almost speechless.

"Wow, that was beautiful." Magna responds sarcastically. Aerius doesn't take it as such.

"Why thank you sister." She says with a smile. Well that's one way to handle that. Now for the third of the anomalies...you turn to see Gaius, your old childhood friend, lazing about, hands behind his head.

"Gaius, what do you think?" The one brother of the group, with dirty blond hair, barely turns his head in your direction and opens one eye. He then shrugs.

"Iunno. Whatever Magna said sounds good. Less work for the rest of us. Work smart, not hard." He...tries to say in sagely tone, but overall it's just lazy.

"I see. Well let's get the opinion of the other two-"

"The kids?" Magna recoils in disgust. "The hell would we care about what some kids think? I don't even know why they're with us in the first place!" She exclaims loudly, earning her some dirty looks from said kids.

"I told you." You say, exasperation covering your voice. "Those kids are smarter than all of us. So yeah I want their opinion." Magna scowls and Aerius appears taken aback.

"Smarter...than me?" You ignore the directed question and wave the two children over to you.

"Hey, we were discussing our first move as a faction. It's clear that Aulus is the one to go after first and we were trying to figure out how to approach it. Got any ideas?"

"Aulus...he's the one who..." Omare's face darkens into a scowl, but quickly returns to normal. "He's the one who blames the Akachi for everything isn't he? And his solution is war?" You nod in affirmation. "Then he's a fool. Fighting the Akachi Clan after they've already wiped you out and you have not 1/10th the man power as before is foolish at best, suicidal at worst. I'm not sure a fool such as him can be convinced but...I'd start with that. The bee does not fight the Dragon who destroyed its nest. He avoids it and builds a hive elsewhere. And that's what you, what we should focus on. Building." His words bring silence to the group. Silence in contemplation for you and seemingly Aerius, silence in...complete laziness for Gaius, and a different kind of silence in Magna. Which she promptly breaks.

"You would defend the Akachi. Look at you, you're probably one of them! We should just bring you to Aulus and offer your head on a platter. It'll be the easiest thing we do."

"Easy? I'm up for easy." Gaius chimes in. Aerius however shakes her head.

"Sister that's not-"

"Try it and it'll be the last thing you do." Omare surprisingly meets Magna's antagonistic energy. This only causes her to smile wide as she readies her magic.

"Bring it pipsqueak. Akachi or not, you're ten. You're not touching someone as good as me." Omare narrows his eyes and clenches his fist.

"If you knew who I was, you'd know better." Kasim touches his shoulder and shakes his head.

"Omare, don't."

"She threatened our lives! As the-" Omare seems worked up, trying to explain himself.

"Omare." Kasim says quietly, cutting him.

"Fine." The young boy grumbles, almost pouting at not getting his way. Kasim rolls his eyes in exasperation.

"Aren't you the one who believes combat's beneath you?" Omare shakes his head.

"I did, but uncle...I was taught different. Besides, she'd be worth it." He motions toward Magna who grins with a bloodthirsty look.

"Any time. I'm always here for you. Just let me know exactly when it is you wish to die and BOOM! Volcanic rock as your tombstone." Omare breathes heavily through his nose and looks to start again and you've had enough. What would you do?

About Aulus?

[] Listen to Magna's suggestion, let her fight him.
[] Try to convince him that fighting wasn't the answer, as Aerius said
[] Warn him away from the Akachi Clan like Omare wanted
[] Kasim...wait you didn't ask Kasim did you?
[] Turn over the two kids to him on the chance that they're Akachi. That should placate him. Magna wasn't completely wrong.
[] Write in something else/some combination.

About Magna and Omare's fight?

[] Nothing. Watch. Let them get it out of their system.
[] Organize a spar between them. Non-lethal only.
[] Stop it. Now as no time for inner fighting
[] Ask Aerius to reel her sister in.
[] Scold Magna for starting with a kid.
[] Ask Kasim to reel Omare in.

Aulus' Faction: Group Decision
You step in between the two trash-talkers, dissolving some of the tension as you make sure to keep them separate.
"Relax. If you two want to fight it out, we can do that." Both of their expressions change to one of surprise and then joy. "In a spar." Their expressions fall.

"A spar? Seriously!?" Magna almost shouts. "I want blood, guts, burns, dominance." Omare scoffs at her words.

"Don't be so eager to leave this world." He pauses for a moment. "And keep your debauchery to yourself." He adds in as a taunt. Magna turns bright red in both anger and embarrassment.

"You little brat! I'm going to make you eat those words!"

"What, in a spar? Don't make me laugh." Omare taunts her, incredulous.

"Doesn't matter if it's a spar, a fight to the death, or the battlefield, I'll burn and bury you in any form of battle." She lashes out.

"Prove it then." Omare spits back, confidently.

"Later." You say, stepping in between them again. "Now back to Aulus." Next you turn to Omare's friend. "Kasim, what do you think?" You ask suddenly, noticing that you never got his opinion. The young boy looks surprised at your inquiry but quickly settles himself and clears his throat.

"I uh...I agree with Omare for the most part. Less emphasis on the Akachi Clan though, and more on well...any clan. In the state the Gaea's in, they shouldn't be doing anything at all besides rebuilding." He says quietly. You nod at the sensible words, but the decision's been made. With a breath you turn to the entire group and project your voice.

"We're going with Magna's plan." You stop and turn to the fiery sibling. "Magna, you're going to be fighting Aulus in a one on one battle." Magna grins wide.

"I'll put that old timer six feet under." You shake your head.

"No, it's going to be non-lethal, just like your spar, winner takes all. We're not risking losing a valuable member, either way. Yes, even Aulus will be valuable to us." Magna scoffs.

"If I kick his ass, I don't see why he's so valuable." She mutters. With a sigh, you turn to her, a serious expression in your eye.

"Magna are you weak?" She's taken aback by the question and begins sputtering.

"N-n-no! Why would you-" You cut her off quickly.

"Then why would Aulus losing to you make him not valuable?" She goes to open her mouth, but you put your hand up. "Think about it." She shuts her mouth and pouts.

"So, are we fighting first, or we handling the old guy first?" Asks Omare, cutting in.

That's...a good question. On one hand you didn't want to weaken Magna, but if she wasn't even the most powerful member of the group then is letting her fight for you such a good idea? Would this push back your plans? Then again it'd allow time for Tarpeius to return. You were eager to have your best friend and overall support system here to back you up.

That aside, would you have the spar now?

[] Yes, spar now.
[] No, do Aulus first.

And if they spar who will you control?

[] Magna
[] Omare
[] Neither, just observe.

Aulus' Faction: The Fight Starts
"We're handling Aulus first. Can't risk your spar getting out of hand and crippling us against him. He's the priority and we need to act like it." You pause and look over the entire group. "So let's head out to meet him."

The group heads out quickly, despite Magna's silent grumbling about not getting to 'put the midget in his place.' You contemplated doing...something, leaving a message, a sign of where you were going so that Tarpeius could catch up to you, but everything you could think of would allow more malicious parties to do the same. You ask Omare since he seems smart but he shakes his head.

"I don't know enough about Tarpeius to make something tailor-made to him. We could make it so that only Gaea can follow, but given the state of the clan..." You nod in understanding as he trails off. Many of your enemies were Gaea at the moment. So it wouldn't help much.

Four hours later you arrive at a suspiciously large mountain that appears to have erected itself and reaches high into the clouds. Outside the mountain sit about fifty guards all around it, all of them being older Gaea warriors, usually retired, and a lake covering the east and south side (the warriors standing on top of the water).

You cautiously walk to the entrance of the mountain, made out of hard rock, and approach the guards sitting in front, very aware that you're surrounded and outnumbered.

"We're here for Aulus." You say with authority. The guards all look towards you when you do. They stare for a moment until the guards covering the front step aside.

"He's been expecting you." You nod and continue in, noticing them all giving suspicious glares to the two brown-skinned children behind you.

You walk in and see more guards ready to lead you. You follow them for a few minutes until you reach the center of the mountain, walking straight through as the earth itself moves out of your way of it's own accord. Suddenly you're in front of the old warrior, an older man with white hair and a long grey beard, sitting down with worn Gaea armor covering his arms, legs, and torso.

"So youngblood, why are you here?" He asks after a moment of silence.

"My faction wishes to have you join us-" You being as he cuts you off.

"Me? Join you? Especially with those two abominations there behind you? Don't make me laugh, boy!" He barks out, chuckling mirthlessly.

"I understand that, Aulus. You...hold an unhealthy grudge against the Akachi. And those two boys, share their appearance. But we're not here to sway you with words."

"Oh?"

"We challenge you to a non-lethal, winner takes all duel. One on one." You inform him. He throws his head back and laughs.

"You wish to fight me? I accept. Come on and bring it boy." He states, getting up and cracking his neck, stretching his arms.

"I'm glad you accept, but I won't be fighting. She will." You say as you step aside and let Magna walk through.

"Don't worry gramps, I'll be gentle." She says with a grin. He raises an eyebrow.

"A girl? A female? Back in the day...tch. Fine. If you want me to beat a woman to death, then so be it." He replies with a sneer.

"Non-lethal-" You begin to correct him, but Magna cuts you off.

"I'd like to see you try, old man!" She challenges him.

Well looks like the fight would begin. Will you control Magna or let her handle it.

A) Yes, control her.
B) Nope, better to watch. She's got this.

Aulus' Faction: The Fight Continues
"Try? I'll do more than just-" Aulus sneers but he's quickly cut off as Magna wastes no time in attacking, rushing him so fast that she leaves a trail of fire on the ground (though arguably, that's partially due to her volcanic magic). Magna delivers a thunderous punch, sending the older man flying meters away until he's embedded into the mountain's walls. Magna shakes off her fist and blows on it, as if it's hot, taunting her opponent as he slowly peels himself off of the wall.

Aulus falls to his knees with a bruise on is face as he spits out some blood. He then looks up and smirks at his volcanic-based opponent.

"A pretty good hit. I've slowed in my old age but-" He pauses to touch the bruised and somewhat bloody spot. "My magic has only gotten better." With a snap, the ground beneath Magna opens up into a seemingly bottomless chasm. Magna's eyes widen as she suddenly has nothing under her feet and begins to fall. Magna soon disappears into the fissure and with another snap, the ground closes back up, burying Magna within.

Silence overtakes the entire room, as both sides are shocked at the abrupt 'end' to the fight. All but Aulus himself, Aerius, and Gaius wait with baited breath, including yourself. A few seconds pass when out of nowhere, the ground begins shaking and rumbling. At first it's light, so much so that you barely feel it, but it quickly builds up, increasing in speed, power, and volume, to the point that it's hard to maintain balance. A second later, magma bursts out of the ground underneath Aulus. The old Gaean warrior snaps and shifts the ground beneath and around his feet to avoid damage, but he's then met by Magna who bursts from the ground, covered in magma, fist reared back.

Aulus looks bored as Magna throws her fist at him with all she's got, only for it to be blocked by a wall made of earth. Magna's arm is pushed back by the rock, leaving her open to be hit by a large earth pillar that smashes her against the wall. She bursts through the pillar not a moment later, in a fiery show of lava, only to be hit once more by a larger pillar.

"You foolish girl." Aulus chastises her as he sends another pillar her way after she bursts through the last one. "You were foolish to fight me." Another pillar. "Foolish to not continue your initial assault, as it's the only chance you had." Another pillar. "Foolish to do battle in my domain that I myself created." A large fist is sent this time, clashing with Magna's own punch. "And extremely foolish to think a woman could match me." A spear of earth comes from beneath Magna and impales her on the wall by her torso. "Women fighting in battle? Complete drivel. Something that only you youngling could come up with, it's so dumb." Another spear to the arm. "Funny enough, I could see the Earth King, our former leader, trying to implement something so foolish-' Another spear to the other arm. "But his brother, the honorable Ocean King would definitely put a stop to it." A spear to the leg. "For he was pragmatic and saw things for how they were. He was logical." A spear to the other leg. "And a great leader. Until the Akachi Clan took him from us." A spear flies towards her head. "And for that, they will pay."

The spear gets within an inch of Magna's head, before she tips her head up and spews magma over the area, stopping the spear in its tracks and quickly incinerating it. The magma continues to travel, over to where Aulus stands, but he shifts the ground once more to avoid it.

"Well, no one can say you didn't try." Aulus taunts as he snaps and hundreds of spears made of earth are formed and subsequently sent towards the immobile Magna.

"AAAAAAAAARGH!" Magna roars as magma flows from her entire body in an explosive orb that frees her and destroys the oncoming spears. She lands on the ground, a bit slumped over and injured, but still on her feet.

"I'll give you credit, you're tougher than I thought." He compliments her, as he exhales in annoyance. While watching this display, you notice Omare with his brow furrowed. Was he seeing something or was he simply concerned for Magna's well being? Should you bother asking him or just let Magna continue to handle herself?

What would you do?

[] Let Magna continue
[] Ask Omare yourself
[] Signal to/mouth to Omare to say what he's thinking

Aulus' Faction: The Fight's Turning Point
As Magna and Aulus stare each other down for a quick moment, both waiting to see the other's move, you look towards Omare and meet eyes. You instantly come to an understanding, communicating without words as you look towards Magna and then back at him, and nod. He looks troubled, frowning for a moment as he opens his mouth to rebuttal. Nothing comes out and he promptly closes his mouth and exhales.

Meanwhile, Aulus has begun the attack again, tapping his foot on the ground and causing a massive earthquake, making Magna lose her balance. He taps his foot again to open another hole in the ground, but this time Magna is ready as she shoots out streams of lava to project herself towards him. Aulus frowns for a moment and claps, causing large portions of the surrounding walls to Magna's right and left to close in on her.

With gritted teeth Magna struggles to keep herself from being crushed by the walls as she secretes lava to melt the stone as it continues inching forward. Omare takes this time to intervene.

"For someone who was talking so much, and wanted to spar me of all people, you almost disappoint me, Magna. You're supposed to be a proud warrior, an Anomaly and yet you're going to let an old man outlast you? A feeble, weak old man? If so, you never stood a chance against me."

"Yeah well..." Magna trails off as the walls get closer. She has a pensive look on her face. "Wait are you..." Omare nods.

"You hold all the cards in physical abilities and yet you let him toy with you like this? Hurry up and wear him out." Magna frowns but nods slowly.

"And you, Aulus, the old warhawk. You claim you wish to destroy the Akachi Clan and yet...you've shown yourself to be pathetically weak and vulnerable. The Earth and Ocean King were far more powerful and they each died to only one Akachi warrior. If this is all you have to give, then don't bother. You would die to unknown fodder. And believe me, I'd know." He spits condescendingly. Aulus appears enraged.

"You dare...?" He then turns to Magna with a dark look on his face. "That boy has sealed your fate." He says with a snarl as he raises his foot and stomps on the ground hard.

"I'm counting on it!" Magna retorts with a grin, pushing back the crushing walls. Not soon after his stomp, the entire mountain begins to shake and contort. Your eyes widen as you realize what he's done. The mad man...

Omare's eyes widen as well, as he touches Kasim and they whisper amongst themselves. Not a second later, does the mountain collapse into itself, crushing all inside.

Aulus is the first to step out of the aftermath, looking unharmed, but a bit winded. Next is you, Aerius (who's been quiet the entire time), and Gaius, with you being protected by the other two, and then it's Omare and Kasim who appear just fine as well.

Slowly Aulus' men resurface, some not moving, and others grievously injured from the sudden and vengeful move. You can see Omare look disapproving at the surroundings.

"To hurt and possibly kill his own men. Loyal men..." He trails off. "Despicable." As he contemplates what he's seen, you're on the look out for some sign of life from Magna. It only takes a few seconds before you see some rumblings from beneath the ground, and grin as you can feel the heat from Magna's magma. Sure enough, she bursts through the ground with some bruises and scuffs, but nothing seriously hurt.

"What a shitty move." She states, wiping her mouth. "You didn't do a thing besides destroy your own base. Congratulations, dumbass!" She shoots a stream of lava his way, which he blocks with a wall of earth.

"I can rebuild my base at any time. With a mere gesture. But to kill an Akachi child...that is an opportunity I couldn't pass up." He stops to stare at Omare and Kasim. "But alas I am honor bound to do battle with you, and thus I made due." Omare raises an eyebrow.

"Me? That was supposed to-" He stops to smirk. "That wouldn't even scratch a competent Akachi warrior. And I'm far more than just competent. You'll have to try harder next time, old man." He taunts, causing Aulus to steel his eyes in his direction. This gives Magna the opening she needs to pounce as she forms an orb of compressed lava, as big as her entire torso, and launches it in his direction.

"Eat this!" She yells as the attack travels towards the Gaean warrior at mach speeds. Aulus' eyes widen for a moment as he sees the approaching attack, and just barely gets up a wall to slow the projectile down as he moves the earth beneath him to allow him to dodge. Magna smirks as she predicted this and the orb of lava explodes on impact with the wall, melting it and sending the hot liquid everywhere in an erratic pattern. This forces Aulus to hastily erect earth-made defenses to protect himself from the unexpected explosion. Capitalizing on the confusion, Magna shoots forward, using a jet of lava behind her to accelerate, and launches a powerful, volcanic-rock empowered fist right at Aulus' face. At the last second, Aulus sees the attack and has to make a decision, as he blocks the heat from touching him but still takes the brunt of the punch that sends him flying.

Magna follows up with a stream of magma flowing straight from her mouth like a dragon's breath, and Aulus has to erect wall after wall to stop the liquid due to it melting everything in front of it. After about twenty constructs and twenty meters of flying, Aulus finishes successfully defending against the attack, only to see Magna on the other side of him with both hands outstretched.

"Eat lava, asshole." She retorts as she lets go a giant blast, a large stream of lava from her hands, engulfing Aulus entirely. Shock fills the area and for a moment, no one moves a muscle. "You just didn't have enough in the tank, did you, you old geezer?" Magna questions the empty area in front of her. "Then again it doesn't matter as you'd be defeated either way." Omare snorts.

"Not without me he wouldn't have." Magna turns to him with a snarl.

"Oh please, you didn't tell me anything I didn't know. So don't get to thinking that you helped me!" She fires back, scathingly. "I still owe you a beating." Omare stares at her for a moment before a small smile reaches his face.

"Doubtful. But you should really take care of your other opponent first." This alarms you as you begin looking around for sounds of Aulus. Magna only sneers back.

"What other opponent? Are you blind? Can't you see that I finished his ass?" Omare shrugs in response.

"I...guarantee I can see much better than you. Let's just leave it at that."

"No I won't-" Magna begins to rant, when the ground begins shaking. Suddenly all the Earth in the area begins flowing to one place. You all turn to the epicenter of it all and see a somewhat burned Aulu up and to his feet as the earth attaches to his body.

"Hey, what the-" Magna begins as the earth begins to form a shape around him. That shape? That of a giant bird, wings and all. And by giant, it was...roughly half the size of a mountain. This...was getting dangerous. Even moreso than before. And you have a decision to make.

Will you...

[] Leave Magna and whoever else wants to stay, you need to get to safety.
[] Stay and watch as you planned to before. Any danger is part of this whole thing you're trying to accomplish.
[] Join in the fight and stop that thing. Aulus abandoned the rules as soon as he collapsed his base.

Aulus' Faction: MC's Power Choice
This wasn't going according to plan. Aulus was either going crazy or he's far too reckless and driven by revenge. Regardless, you had to put a stop to it. You were fine with his and Magna's fight, but when he brings down a mountain on your (and everyone else's) head and tries to attack people outside of the deal, that's not OK.

Before you can do much, you see Magna shoot at the bird with a powerful stream of lava and watch as the lava penetrates and makes a decent sized hole in Aulus' construct. Unfortunately the hole quickly heals as earth shoots from the ground to patch it and the bird appears to be as good as new. You become determined to help and your eyes steel over as you reach down inside for your Gaea magic. No one had really seen you fight before so the first move was the most important as it could be a complete surprise.

Channeling your magic, you reach up and shoot your hand out. This:

[] Shoots a stream of pressurized water at the bird.
[] Throws a multitude of rock spears the birds' way.
[] Erects a giant crystal that cuts the bird in half, but uses all of your energy.
[] Raises a large Flower that engulfs the bird entirely and nearly causes you to pass out.
[] Covers the area in hard-to-see-in and hard-to-breathe-in mist.
[] Brings you close to the bird as you leap to the sky and try to grab on.
