Kazuma looked out the window of his room as he watched the birds flying outside.
"So what are you going to do from now on?" Tsukune asked him through the phone.
Unbeknownst to everyone, he had spent the last two years of his life in another world and it was because he and his friends had defeated the demon king that he had just come back to the world, unfortunately, that meant that he was forced to leave everyone behind.
Aqua the Goddess that had accompanied him to the other world had returned to heaven, and the rest of his team were left behind in the other world to live their lives.
But he didn't care about that, because of the deal that he made with heaven when he died on earth he would be sent to the other world at the exact moment that he beat the demon king, and so it would be like he never left his friends behind.
"I don't know maybe pass the time doing od jobs for a couple of years." Kazuma answered Tsukune as he lit a small flame on the tip of his finger and smiled as he remembered the day he learned the skill.
"Hey listen you see, my dad somehow got his hands on a pair of applications to this privet school and I was wondering if you wanted one, I mean I heard that you failed your exams too." Tsukune said to him.
Kazuma just smirked and shook his head, after going on soman adventures, having to work his way up from nothing, to living in a mansion and even leading armies.
Something like taking tests and going to school didn't interest him anymore, so he didn't even try on his exams and as a result, he failed them all.
It wasn't as if he was going to pass any of them after all, he had forgotten everything that he had learned in school, as he didn't bother going to school after what happened back then.
"Pass." Kazuma said to Tsukune but before either of them could say anything else Kazuma felt someone pull his cell phone away from him.
The phone was on speaker so there was no reason for anyone to take it from him, but maybe his dad thought that if he didn't do it, Kazuma would have hung up.
"Hell take it." Kazuma heard his dad say to Tsukune.
"What?" Kazuma's heard Tsukune answer his dad.
"I said that he will take it, Tsukune bring that application here, or do you need me to go over there, this is this idiot's last chance to make something of himself and I won't let him waste it." Kazuma heard his dad say to Tsukune.
Kazuma wanted to argue but when he was going to say something he felt the power behind his dad's glare, in the past Kazuma wouldn't dare say anything to his dad because of how intimidating the man looks.
And while he was still afraid of him, it wasn't because he was afraid of the man, n he was afraid of what he would do to him.
In the other world, Kazuma had been at the bottom and that meant that even mages who were usually the weakest of any group physically were stronger than he was, but on earth, he found that he was a lot stronger than the ordinary person.
It was the result of both his training as an adventurer and just living in that other world, his body was stronger because he had to do a lot of back-breaking labor and his senses were stronger because he had to fight monsters.
Then there was the magic that his body had absorbed, it had placed him well above the ordinary person and even some or maybe all of the athletes of the world and while no one could see how different he was Kazuma was well aware of it.
"Dad, I'm leaving at the end of the month and after that, you won't see me anymore, so glaring at me doesn't work." Kazuma said to his dad and easily avoided the punch that his dad threw at him.
He did this over and over again, and Kazuma easily avoided his dad's attacks even as the man became angrier.
His dad finally realized that it was pointless to keep going and stood up so that he could tower over Kazuma, Kazuma just looked at his dad without flinching.
'Either you go or you won't take anything from this house." his dad said to him.
Kazuma just looked at his dad before walking over to his computer and pressing the delete button, he had just erased his internet history, and when he was sure that everything was gone he turned around and jumped out the window.
He had always known that something like this was going to happen, it wasn't that he hated his parents, it was just that he had never fit in with them or with anyone.
When he still went to school he had been one of the kids that almost no one spoke to, and when he tried to talk to anyone they just ignored him or acted as if he was something that they didn't want others to see them with.
His mom and dad were from the country and the people from there prefer to deal with their kids by making them learn to fear them, and that usually meant hitting the kids.
This was most likely the reason why most of those people living in the country were elders who didn't have anyone looking after them and the people that remained were either children or the ones that couldn't afford to leave.
Kazuma couldn't help but smile, he knew that he should have wanted to cry, but he had already left the house years ago, and had he not been brought back to earth he wouldn't have ever returned.
So he began his long walk, where it would take him no one knew, but he meant what he said to Tsukune he was planning on doing nothing but odd jobs from now on.
What he didn't tell his old friend was that he would only do them until he gained enough money to afford to rent an apartment or hotel room and then move on before repeating the process all over again.
Kazuma began to hear the sound of someone running and because his enemy detection skill and evasion skills weren't activating he knew that it wasn't anyone that wanted to hurt him, so it was probably one of the kids playing or someone running late.
"Kazuma!" Kazuma heard his mom screaming after him.
"Don't go." she gasped as she held onto a piece of paper, Kazuma could see that she was holding onto it with enough strength that she managed to tear the parts that her fingers were placed on it.
"Please just go there, I know how miserable you were here." His mom said between gasps.
"I told Tsukune to call you but I didn't expect your dad to kike you out when you said no." She said to him as she lifted her face and Kazuma could see that she was crying.
"You locked yourself in your room, playing your games and I thought that you were just obsessed with them, then your dad and I heard that you stopped going to school so we tried to find out what happened." she said to him.
"Please, we couldn't help you all of this time but please just try this and if you don't like it you can leave us behind." she begged him.
Kazuma looked at his mom and remembered the day he had died, both his mom and dad along with the doctors laughed at him back then, but now she was here begging him to go to a private school.
Kazuma noticed his dad walking towards them and the man stopped walking when he reached his mom's side, the man wordlessly handed Kazuma back his cell phone but he didn't look at him.
"I know you think that we don't care, but we do." she said to him as she handed him the application.
"We shouldn't have laughed at you that day." his dad said to him.
Kazuma looked at his parents and exhaled.
"Even if I go there I won't come back, I don't have any good memories here."
"The people were awful to me and before today neither of you ever cared about me, you just wanted to look good for everyone else."
"I mean, what's the big deal about me going to a private school when I could just go to a public school and work my way up." he said to them as he began to let out the feelings that he thought he had left behind.
"For what, so that you could brag to everyone that your son went to some school, so did the rest of them' he said to his parents as he signaled towards the elders that had come out to see what all of the noise was about.
"And what did that get them, none of their kids ever visit them, and those that do just come once every ten years." Kazuma said to them before he turned around and began to walk away again.
Kazuma stopped walking when he found himself almost running into someone who shouldn't have been on earth.
Aqua walked past him, she took the application for the school from Kazumas mothers hand and walked back towards Kazuma.
Aqua stood in front of Kazuma and before anyone could say anything, she slapped him hard enough for everyone to hear her hand touch his face.
She shoved the application into Kazuas chest and whispered something that no one else could hear to him, before walking away from him and disappearing behind a corner.
"Alright I'll go, but don't expect me to finish it." Kazuma said to his parents as he began to look at the application and found that it had already been filled out.
All that was left for him to do was mail it to where ever this Yokai Academy was.
Kazuma began to walk back toward where his parents stood but he didn't bother trying to hug or embrace them in any way, he would have liked to do so, but that time had passed and it might never come back again.
That night neither of his parents tried to talk to him, so he did the one thing he had done since he had come back, he climbed out of his bedroom window and sat on the roof before he laid down and enjoyed looking at the stars.
"Hey." Aqua said to him as she sat next to him.
"I thought that you weren't allowed back on earth." Kazuma said to Aqua who placed a hand around his neck and pulled him towards her before she hugged him tightly.
Kazuma could feel his body begin to change as something began to awaken inside of him.
"So what do you mean that you need my help?" He asked Aqua who didn't let go of him.
"I can't tell you, the higher-ups allowed me to come down and give you back your skills along with a new one but they said that I couldn't tell you what was going on." Aqua answered him.
"Do my parents know? or does anyone else know?" Kazuma asked qua who just said no.
"Alright but I was going to leave this place anyway" he said to her before a mischievous smile formed on his lips.
'So do I get any gear this time?" he asked her and smiled when she finally let him go when their eyes finally met Kazuma could see that she was glaring at him, but at the same time, her eyes seemed to smile at him.
They both gave each other a warm smile.
"I missed this." Kazuma said to her.
"Yeah was all that Aqua said to him before she stood up and began to vanish.
'Waite Aqua, I need to ask you something." he said to her and Aqua stopped vanishing but remained see-through.
"When I die again, do you want to go with me and finish our adventure with everyone?" he asked her, but he didn't hear her answer as a pair of angels covered her mouth and carried\ vanished her back to heaven.
'Well, I got my new wish." Kazuma said to himself before he took out his cell phone and called Tsukune.
"Hello Kazuma, do you realize what time it is?" Tsukune said to him.
"Relax it's not that late, anyway I'm going with you." Kazuma said to Tsukune answered who just congratulated him, before hanging up and going back to sleep.
Kazuma laid down and closed his eyes, he didn't bother going back inside after all it was a lot more peaceful out here than it was in there.
