You are Kiritsugu Emiya, fresh off the end of the Fourth Grail War. Because of the destruction of the Grail, you have adopted a child. Your goal, should you accept it, is to raise the child to adulthood, or at least see him well off before you die.
There are two currencies that are used in the game: Time and Resources. Time is spent on its own, representing how much time Kiritsugu has before he bites the dust, though certain actions have the opportunity to make this a non-issue. Resources represent all the money, equipment, and food that his family possesses. The more people in the family household, the bigger drain on Resources there is.
The opening choice is what kind of Fourth Grail War occurred. One leaves Kiritsugu well off with many resources, and his life force mostly the same as it was back when the grail was destroyed in the main timeline. The other Grail War… was a nightmare that resulted in most of Fuyuki getting wiped off the map. While due to the events of the Grail War that resulted in Kiritsugu getting a chance to live longer, Ea destroyed most of what the Magus Killer could call upon. On the plus side, there is an opportunity to increase the size of the Emiya Family right away with additional adults and a teenager.
One of the opening choices will be where to live. Such a choice will influence the opportunities of who Kiritsugu's children befriend and what events occur that they get caught up in. Players get the opportunity to choose who the children come into contact with once per game year.
Each year, Kiritsugu (and any other guardians in the Emiya household) each have one action, which they do for most of the year when not staying in the household. They might or might not be dragged into anything their children run into, depending on their relationship with them.
Omakes may give additional choices of what the family can do.
An epilogue is written and the game ends when either there are no more guardians (through all of them dying off), or there are no more children in the household (from either growing up and leaving, getting killed, or getting married into another family). Changes as to how Kiritsugu spends his time will result in different endings.
You are Kiritsugu Emiya, and it is the end of the Fourth Grail War.
Which has ended in disaster.
However, there is the question of which Grail War just ended.
[X] A War in which you commanded the King of Knights while you tried to kill your opponents, only having to force Saber to destroy the corrupted Grail. (Events of 4th War as same as canon, Easy mode, quicker game; Resources start at 45, Time starts at 10)
[X] A War of utter confusion, in which you commanded the 'Living Sword' before making a 'Contract' with the lone Caster in an experiment to save your wife Irisviel von Einzbern from destruction by the Grail. There were thirteen Servants, and an extra vessel for the Grail, but it pales in comparison to the fact that a single Servant used Ea to wipe most of Fuyuki from the map. (Events of 4th War different from canon, Hard mode, longer game; Resources start at 25, Time starts at 15, can customize 'Shirou' slightly, can gain additional people before start)
Illya has been rescued from the Einzbern Mansion in Germany,
allowing the family to turn their attention to more personal matters, like curses and distortions.
Spending so much to try to deal with multiple issues has caused the family to turn on hard times...
at the same time a dangerous set of Mystic Codes has appeared scatted over Japan...
After all the chaos of the previous year, this year could be considered
quiet, even with complaining refugees and a bust on Yakuza operations.
Of course, it turned out only to be the eye of the storm...
The Grail War was starting... and it started with an attack at home.
Then Yuuno, Kiritsugu, and their Servants Avenger and Archer travelled to Fuyuki...
The 5th Holy Grail War had ended with a wimper.
With Taiga heading off to college, a wedding occuring, and all three adults
getting steady jobs, things promised to create a calm year. But the Police Chief's efforts promised otherwise...

Unfriendly:They've met, but something makes them ill at ease with each other.
Frigid:They interact only sparingly, because it would only take a mistake on either end for bloodshed to occur.
Hostile: Conflict occurs between the two, but neither of them actively hunt the other.
Mortal Enemies (Irreparable): They go out of their way to try to kill each other. There has to be a reason why one of them isn't dead yet.
Note that these are guidelines, and the quest may lead us in different directions, but these are what you might want to expect.
Family Relationship Levels:

Strained: The group does not get along well with yours, but conflict is not occurring yet.
Spiteful:The group does not get along with yours. While there is no major conflict, they may make day-to-day life for your group a little more uncomfortable.
Hostile: The group dislikes yours, and will take potshots at yours if an opportunity arises that they can exploit. They do not go out of their way to create opportunities to do so. This may or may not involve bloodshed, depending on the group.
Feuding (Irreparable): The group hates yours, and will go out of their way to cause your group problems.
If (False) is attached, then one of the leaders of the group has a personal view of yours that is different from what the rest of the group believes, and has enough power to get the group to follow their commands.

How could you have forgotten? It was a war of utter confusion.
When Jubstacheit von Einzbern gave you Avalon to use for your summoning, you expected to summon King Arthur Pendragon of the Round Table. What you got instead was a flamboyant man calling himself a 'Demon Lord' that would have been more suited to the Caster class rather than the Saber class. You had to smuggle him into Fuyuki yourself, with the help of Maiya Hisau to make sure he actually behaved.
With your surveillance, you managed to watch as Assassin tried to launch an attack on the Tohsaka mansion, but was apparently slain by a man wearing golden armor. You weren't able to confirm the death, because immediately after killing Assassin, the golden man fired a sword at your surveillance equipment and destroyed it.
A few nights after the incident, after Irisviel von Einzbern arrived and your group set up your base, you moved to the docks to where you had felt a Servant presence. To your surprise, the red and black Assassin that had been killed was hiding on the crane, and to your greater surprise, the Servant that had sent out a pulse of Prana to attract attention was a girl about fourteen years of age in a red dress snacking on Pokey.
Your Saber fought against the girl, who was revealed to be Lancer, for a couple minutes before Iskander the Great, the Rider, crashed into the battle and requested everyone to join him in the quest for the Grail, claiming that another Rider had already done so.
His Master, who was identified a minute later as a Waver Velvet, rode in after him on a pale horse, tiredly complaining of Iskander's methods. Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald revealed himself to be the Master of the young Lancer and started threatening to kill his student, before being brought to a halt by Waver's other Rider. While he didn't state his name like Iskander did, the black cloak and scythe pointed towards him being Death.
The golden Servant appeared, demanding obedience of everyone, and letting everyone know of his identity of Gilgamesh. Before he could get a response, however, a Servant dropped out of astral form and started attacking everyone it could.
You lost your composure when you realized that Godzilla had been summoned under the Berserker class. Everyone retreated.
Before the morning arrived, you learned that Archibald had been killed by a demon summoned by an unusually persistent Caster who seemed hell-bent on eliminating his particular Servant, causing his Lancer to be claimed by your wife. However, one of the men of your mundane contacts had found himself inside the Einzbern mansion due to the 'Tactical Genius' of the Servant of Raiga Fujimura, offering information and a proposal.
There had been not seven, but thirteen Servants summoned. Two for each of the non-Caster classes and one for the Caster. A Homunculus had been running around the city for the past week, and was the one that summoned Godzilla. That would have been a big problem, but it seemed that Taiga Fujimura was also a Master, summoning another Lancer that half his men had fallen in love with before Taiga allowed Lancer to cover her face with sunglasses and a paper bag. Desiring to save his Yakuza from destruction, Raiga summoned another Archer.
What the Fujimuras were proposing was a three-way alliance, which you accepted.
After that explosive first night, things quieted down for a few days as everyone seemed to go to ground. Your alliance kept an eye out for any enemy Servants, but none appeared where you could engage them. On the bright side, the serial killer that had been plaguing the city seemed to have stopped as well.
And then dozens of demons started appearing in the city, taking out not only a large number of Raiga's men, but also a black knight Berserker that had attacked the Tohsaka Mansion in the confusion which had been forced to retreat into a pair of demons.
At this point, Caster, a long-haired woman in a white dress with red markings, appeared before you and asked for relationship advice, stunned and not understanding why her Master was proposing to her. Eventually, lacking any solid answer to her dilemma, she offered a 'Contract' to you in frustration, which would be an experiment to see what she could do with one of her Noble Phantasms.
A wish was required, and while she couldn't grant your first two wishes (World Peace and to win the Grail war both being out of your unusually high karmic potential, she said), she was able to grant a wish so that Irisviel would live a full life without the Grail killing her.
It was granted, giving you a purple gem the size of a chicken egg and manifesting the Lesser Grail outside your wife. The Lesser Grail was then stolen by Caster, taken to an urban area where the ley lines crossed, to see if she could either absorb enough mana to power the Grail without going through the rest of the Servants or to unleash her strongest Noble Phantasm.
It took a command seal to prevent Saber from charging after Caster recklessly in frustration.
The next day, the Church made an announcement that Caster was causing the influx of demons in the city, necessitating her defeat so that the secrecy of the Moonlit World could remain secret.
With your knowledge of where Caster had set up her base, your alliance used Archer's 'Tactical Genius' to ambush her as she was trying to fight off the other Saber, a girl in a maid uniform wielding an invisible sword.
Of course, it was the time of your arrival chaos broke out in the area.
The black and red Assassin, along with Gilgamesh, made their appearance, before Godzilla and both Riders approached.
Faced with most of the remaining Servants against them, in addition to several magi, Yakuza, and the security team that some pharmacy company had assigned to the other Saber's Master, Caster was crushed rather quickly, though it was the Saber in the maid outfit that managed to strike the final blow.
It was at that opportunity that Godzilla took a step and crushed Taiga's Lancer, before attempting the same on Gilgamesh and almost getting killed by numerous swords from the Gate of Babylon (before disappearing due to a Command Seal), starting to activate the Lesser Grail that had been stolen.
It was at that point that your Saber tried to claim the grail for themselves, trying to kill the other Saber before conflict broke out more heavily. He even used his final Noble Phantasm, 'Living Sword of the Demon King' to try to kill the other Servants, but being the first to attack meant that everyone attacked him.
He died, but not before making a wish to bring his master into the world.
A large beast of darkness consumed the Lesser Grail upon his death, but Iskander, Gilgamesh, and the black and red Assassin killed the beast, leaving only a large black spike embedded in the ground.
With one Lesser Grail used, everyone started their separate ways, before the Assassin tossed you a black sphere with two spikes, saying that you needed it to survive until you made your adoption, and to use the 'Grief Seeds' he called them on your 'Soul Gem'. He also stated that Kirei was almost ready to speak to you, which you dreaded.
The next day, Raiga had his Servant use 'Tactical Genius' to not only kill the Tohsaka master, but also the moderator. It was also used to start harassing Gilgamesh, before he lost patience and blasted Fuyuki to rubble with Ea to make sure that the 'Tactical Genius' wouldn't be able to escape.
Godzilla, Raiga's Archer, and the forty aspects of the traditional Assassin (which had escaped notice until then) were slain in the destruction. More mundanely, most of the Fujimura Yakuza, including Raiga, were killed, along with most of the population of Fuyuki. Surprisingly, Tagia survived, latching onto the child master of the last Saber, who had also survived.
Both Riders charged Gilgamesh in fury, before both being cut down by a team of Gilgamesh and the black and red Assassin, leaving the girl in the maid outfit the last remaining Servant against a combination of Gilgamesh and the Assassin.
The second Lesser Grail manifested in the area where the first one did, but started spewing black mud. You raced to try to get there, only to be stopped by Kirei Kotomine while Gilgamesh went on ahead.
Meanwhile, the Assassin attacked Irisviel and Maiya…
[X] … knocking them both out.
[X] … killing Irisviel and knocking out Maiya.
[X] … killing Maiya and knocking out Irisviel.
[X] … and successfully killed them both.
You fought Kotomine, who no longer matched the personality profile you had conducted on him. He ranted about going for a jog, something about a fourth wall, and asking a person named 'Nasu' why he was created. The more he talked, the more he scared you, talking about how Deadpool was Assassin, and how he had given him and Gilgamesh glimpse of the true world.
And then he dropped a bombshell on you: the Grail was corrupt, and any wish made would be twisted to make sure to kill as many people possible.
You didn't want to believe it, so after you got in a lucky shot, you hurried over to the Grail and entered the black mud.
It was corrupted, as the visions that were shown to you made clear. One slain to save ten. Ten killed to save a hundred. A hundred killed to save a thousand and up. Eventually, you would have killed more people than you would have saved.
You were freed by an explosion, a beam of light that destroyed the Grail. Freed, you had a second to notice the Saber that had been dressed in a maid outfit was now dressed in blue and iron armor, fading rapidly from a lack of prana with tears on her face.
And then a whispering voice, telling everyone to burn, blotted the sky in darkness, raining down black mud and setting everything on fire.
The grail… had been all for nothing.
With the fire spreading, you searched for anyone who could have survived.
After five minutes of frantic searching, you found Taiga carrying a boy with chicken pox away from the center of the blaze. The boy was near death, so you did the only thing you could think of at the moment:
You had kept Avalon with you, because it had seemed to work despite you not summoning King Arthur. You valued the lives before you more than your own at the moment, and if you could save just one or two lives from the disaster you had helped cause, it wouldn't be for nothing.
The golden sheath worked, before you realized that the boy was the missing master of the Saber in the maid outfit.
Regardless, at the sight of a friendly face, Taiga collapsed to the ground, unconscious, forcing you to carry the two of them out of the blaze.
You saw Gilgamesh, Kotomine, and Deadpool watching you from a distance, Kotomine flipping you the bird with a smile on his face, but you paid them no mind for the moment. You had to get the two children to safety.
The next day, you went to the hospital, where you met the two you had pulled from the flames. By throwing away the Grail, Jubstacheit von Einzbern was not likely going to let you see your daughter again. You needed something to hold onto, something good that had come out of this mess.
You decided to adopt the boy, who called himself Shirou and had been cured of chicken pox, to give yourself some meaning in life. He had no memories of being a master, only your smiling face when you saved him from death and…
[X] …a teenage girl in a maid outfit, telling him stories.
[X] …a girl with glasses, telling him all about how computers worked.
[X] …a girl who craved the companionship of others, designing costumes for them.
[X] …a girl with white hair and a katana, wishing only for battle.
[X] …a woman with purple hair, able to get order from chaos with a few words and a smile.
[X] …a black sword as big as Kiritsugu fighting off seven people. Not a person, a sword.
There is also the problem of Taiga Fujimura, who had nowhere to go and had lost the memories of her participation in the Grail War. You did owe her family some favors, and taking care of her would help take care of some of them…
[X] Adopt her. She'll keep her family name, though.
[X] Let her go.
And there is the question of letting them know about magic…
[X] Let them know.
[X] Keep it secret.
FUBAR, indeed.
Due to taking Hard Mode, this explanation of what happened from Kiritsugu's eyes gives insight as to what happened during this 4th War. It also gives you an opprotunity to make a few choices to change who will be in the household beyond the base two.
Sorry that it is a bit long, though. You'll get a chance to choose where to settle down next update.
It was a miracle that the Assassin spared both your wife and your mistress, but he did mention something about you often living alone, and that you would probably be best suited with two women keeping you down.
There was also some babbling from him about a 'quest' of some kind, but thankfully both Irisviel and Maiya fell unconscious before they could hear more. Also, thankfully, they were out of range of the Grail's curse.
They were treated for light injuries at a hospital camp that had sprung up at the edge of Fuyuki, where everyone that had survived Ea had been brought. It was there you decided to adopt the two children, two links of hope, informing the two women of your decision. Irisviel had a look of happiness on her face at the news, while Maiya was surprised, but accepting of your decision.
As soon as all five of you were recovered enough, you checked out of the hospital camp, but not before informing the two children that you and your wife were mages. Taiga was surprised, but looked forward to a demonstration later, while Shirou simply said that you were awesome.
Leaving the camp, you came across Waver Velvet, who had holed up at the Ryuudou Temple in order to provide mana for his two servants, and Kirei Kotomine talking. It seemed like the priest was tormenting the younger magus with his words when all he had wanted was directions to the nearest city with a remaining airport. You interrupted to point the younger man in the right direction, before you confronted the priest.
The Kotomine was planning on staying in the city, most likely going to rebuild his church. There were likely many other reasons, but you cut him off so that he wouldn't drive you insane. All you knew was that you didn't want to live in the same city as him.
He did tell you to return to Fuyuki every now and then to make sure you had enough 'Grief Seeds' for your 'Soul Gem', so there was something you could do if you were so inclined.
Where do you want to settle down?
[o] Fuyuki City: The insane priest is still alive, and the Servant that made him insane, as well as the golden king, survived the destruction of both grails, and all three are going to stay in what remains of Fuyuki. And if they are going to be in Fuyuki, you certainly are not. (Not available for Hard mode)
[X] Misaki City: Influence of the Moonlit World is light here. There are a couple of churches, but only one of them is part of the Moonlit World. There is also a recluse magus who could possibly help with your curse here. There's not even a Second Owner! The only real downside is that there is a family of demon/human hybrids here. (10 Resources)
[X] Mitakihara City: A city with rapid advancement in modern technology. There's basically no trace of the Moonlit World here, basically because it would be too hard for magi to slow advancement enough so that they can keep up. You can get a new home cheaply here. (5 Resources)
[X] Uminari City: …On the downside, there's a clan of demon hunters, a clan of demon/human hybrids, a few members of the Moonlit side of the church, and a magus family all in the city. On the positive side, all four families want their children to get out and stay out of the Moonlit World. And if anything happens, assuming you didn't drag their children into the Moonlit World, you can count on their support. (10 Resources)
[X] Perhaps looking elsewhere in Japan might be more suited…
-[X] Just were in Japan would be best? (Write-In city, subject to GM approval, costs will vary)
Irisviel von Einzbern, Taiga Fujimura, and Maiya Hisau added to the household.
Total upkeep per year: 10 Resources
Information Sheet updated.
Also, for those seeking to learn who commanded who, and who exactly was the Servants/Masters in the War, and who Shirou remembered... Avalon
Closest Guess of the Masters: 1 Missing and 1 Incorrect
Closest Guess of the Servants: 1 Mis-matched, 2 Non-confirmed Zaratustra
Closest Guess of the Memories: 1 Incorrect (Right series, wrong character, but close friend of said character)
After killing a few demons in your way out of Fuyuki and taking a few objects they dropped, you decide on a city to the south, Uminari City. Sure, funds will be tight in the first couple of years, but you believed that if you stayed far away from Fuyuki and other cities with influence of the Moonlit World, you would be able to raise your family in peace.
…It was only when you reached the Real Estate office that you realized that the woman selling you a home was the Second Owner of the city.
And it seemed like this quiet little city was actually one of the noisier of those in the Moonlit World.
The last descendants of a demon hunter clan were living in the city, as well as a retired pair of retired Executors and their family. Fortunately, both families were doing their best to stay out of the Moonlit World, the adults not even informing their children of its existence, and they would be doing their best to keep it that way.
Also worrying, there was a family of demon and human hybrids in the city. While they had closer ties to the Moonlit World than the other two families, the current head was trying to keep his daughter's demon blood sealed so that she could live a normal life.
They also wanted to keep their children out of the underworld for now, and as long as you kept both worlds from affecting their families, they had no legitimate complaints for the Second Owner to turn you away.
The Second Owner also mentioned that she was running an experiment with a girl she had adopted, and if you could keep her from entering both worlds as well until she stumbled upon them herself, the Second Owner would be grateful.
The woman would also be happy if you kept her two children out of the Moonlit World as well, at least for now. They were two and one years old, and were too young for magecraft training in her opinion.
Finally, the woman stated that you were not the first Magus family seeking a new start from the rubble of Fuyuki, with one other family moving into Uminari for a new life for now. They had received the same warnings as you had, despite the fact that the only one of the three that had shown up in her office that had magecraft potential was the heir.
Still, you were able to secure a home in Uminari for the five of your family. It is European-style, with two floors. On the top floor are four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and five rooms set aside for workshops. On the bottom floor is a kitchen, a living area, an office, and a spare bedroom.
Over the first week, you each took turns trying to cook.
You managed to burn dinner.
Irisviel turned her attempt to charcoal.
Maiya's dinner looked edible, but put Shirou unconscious after a bite.
Taiga's attempt got the fire department called.
And Shirou… his attempt the family could survive without difficulty, but was rather bland.
It was going to be a long year on take-out.
Kiritsugu Emiya's Plans for the Year: (Choose 2)
[X] Never Again
The last war was a disaster. It would be a good idea to make sure such a war never happened again by blowing up the Ley-Lines near Fuyuki. (Cost: 2 Resources, 1 Time) (Benefit: ???)
[X] Rescue Mission
It would be a good idea to save Illya before something happened to her. And it would be such a shame for her grandfather to die before you got to him… (Cost: 1 Resources, 2 Time) (Benefit: Small chance of retrieving Illya (10%), or make future attempts to do so more likely (90% to increase retrieval by 5% in future attempts))
[X] Breaking the Grail's Curse
This curse is going to kill you eventually if you don't get rid of it. You need to find a cure in order to be freed of it. Time for heavy research. (Cost: 1 Resources, 2 Time) (Benefit: 5% chance of removing 'Cursed' trait; failure increases future attempts by 5%; stays at home more)
-[X] Backup to Break the Curse
This is out of your league. You need an expert, or multiple experts, in order to get a cure. (Cost: 3 Resources, 2 Time) (Benefit: 15% chance of removing 'Cursed' trait; failure increases future attempts by 15%)
[X] Kiritusgu the Cook
…Face it, you aren't a cook. You need to learn if you don't want to depend on your family for meals, or depend on take-out. (Cost: 2 Resources, 1 Time) (Benefit: Stay at home more, Kiritsugu gains Cook skill (House Resource Upkeep halved while possessor stays at home the majority of the time))
[X] Hitman for Hire
You may not be as good as you used to be, but you can still use a gun. Make use of your skills and select easier targets. (Cost: 2 Time) (Benefit: Work as an Assassin, +6 Resources)
[X] Return of the Magus Killer
It may be risky, but you can still fight, and fight hard. While it will stretch what little energy you have left, if you pull it off, your family will be very well off. (Cost: 3 Time, 1 Resource, 25% chance of death on job) (Benefit: Work as an Assassin, +10 Resources)
[X] Dreams? Or Something More?
There's these odd dreams… perhaps delving into them and understanding them could be useful. (Cost: 1 Time) (Benefit: Learn of these odd dreams, Stay at home more, choose one option)
-[X] A small town in the sky, where a hero in green goes to the surface beneath the clouds and fights against… Saber.
-[X] A series of girls interacting with Lancer and a catlike creature that seems too familiar.
-[X] The Pale Rider was fired by representatives of his boss, forcing him into an unexpected retirement on a farm.
-[X] There is no way you can miss Godzilla in your mind, even though there is the question of why it is in the Americas…
-[X] In a bloody future where there is only war, Archer successfully fights the gods of schemes, with his name screamed in countless corners of the galaxy.
-[X] Why is the Assassin in your dreams?!? Out! Out!
-[X] This seems familiar… is it Fuyuki before it was destroyed? Wait, is that a teenage Shirou? And why did the spearman kill him?!?
[X] Kiritsugu's Mundane Job (Write-In)
Surely you can find a mundane job in the world you can do. Right? Right? (Write-In Job) (Cost: 1 Time) (Benefit: Possible Mundane Work, +3 Resources or +1 Resource, Stay at home more)
[X] Yakuza Restoration
The Fujimura Yakuza, even though its core is gone, lives on through the few men outside Fuyuki. If you could start rebuilding it to its former strength, not only would you be able to restore your old network, you could also start benefiting from its income. Of course, you will need to keep Taiga on your good side, and from what you understand, she has little interest in the family business…(Cost: 1 Time, 5 Resources) (Benefit: Fujimura Yakuza restored, +2 Resources per year, small chance of losing Yakuza per year, tiny chance of bringing police down on you per year)
[X] Hobbyist (Write-In Hobby)
You could take up a mundane hobby. People get paid for doing their hobbies all the time. How hard could it be? (Write-In Hobby) (Cost: 1 Time, 1 Resource) (Benefit: Opens opportunities, stay at home more)
[X] Magecraft Training
Shirou is interested in magecraft… you aren't going to be able to deter him, so you best give him a full scale education. Taiga is also interested, but not to the extent of Shirou. (Cost: 2 Time) (Benefit: Shirou's and Taiga's magecraft improves)
[X] On Souls and Grief
As much as you dread the thought, perhaps you best track down Assassin to learn about your Soul Gem and 'Grief Seeds'. He may be insane, but that insanity gives him knowledge that you lack. You just need to convince him to give you just the information you request and no more. (Cost: 1 Time, 1 Resource) (Benefit: In-Character Knowledge of Puella Magi)
[X] The Family Man
You are on a timer until your death. Perhaps it would be nice to simply relax with your family. (Benefit: stay at home more, connect with neighbors more easily)
[X] Kiritsugu: Other Plans (Write-In)
Irisviel von Einzbern's Plans for the Year: (Choose 2)
[X] Driving Lessons
She drives well… but if she's going to drive long-term in Japan, she's going have to spend a lot of time practicing to drive properly. You don't need to spend millions of Yen on parking fines and driving violations! (Cost: 1 Resource) (Benefit: Opens opportunities for her, stays at home more)
[X] Irisviel's Cooking Lessons
The maids always did the cooking back in Germany, but now its time for Irisviel to learn. Hopefully she won't burn too much food. (Cost: 2 Resources) (Benefit: Irisviel learns Cooking skill (House Resource Upkeep halved while possessor stays at home the majority of the time))
[X] Mundane Job (Write-in job)
She hasn't worked a day in her life, but perhaps there is somewhere in the city where she can get a job. Right? (Write-in job choice) (Benefit: Possible Mundane Work, +3 Resources or +1 Resource, Stay at home more)
[X] Hobby of the Einzbern (Write-In Hobby)
Now that Irisviel is away from the castle, she has some freedom in what activities to pursue. Perhaps there is one she is interested in? (Write-In Hobby choice) (Cost: 1 Resource) (Benefit: Opens opportunities, stay at home more)
[X] Curse-Breaking
Kiritsugu is cursed… perhaps Irisviel can find a cure for him? (Benefit: 10% chance of removing 'Cursed' trait, or improves already existing attempt this year to do so by 10%; failure increases future attempts by 5%; stays at home more)
[X] The Daughter Left Behind
Illya is still back in Germany… and Irisviel knows her way around the Einzbern grounds. While she can't get there by herself, she is able to help out Kiritsugu in rescuing Illya. (Can only be done if Kiritsugu goes to try to save Illya) (Benefit: Doubles likelihood of rescuing Illya, and in case of failure increases likelihood of next attempt by 5%)
[X] Harem Protagonist Preparation
Irisviel's studies of Manga and Anime have given her a sense of sorts. While thankfully it is nowhere near the Assassin's view, this sense does point out things that others might not understand. And her senses are telling her that her adopted son is going to be a Harem Protagonist, so she's planning to push Shirou towards a girl of her choosing! (Benefit: Extra introduction for Shirou, or additional time spent with someone for Shirou, Irisviel stays at home more)
[X] Magecraft Training
Irisviel is willing to spend time to improve Shirou's and Taiga's magecraft education. Taiga is unimportant in her eyes; it is Shirou she wants to focus on, to prepare for the girls so that he can protect them and get them to fall in love with him. (Benefit: Shirou's and Taiga's magecraft improves, Irisviel stays at home more)
[X] The Dotting Mother
There is something to be said in just spending time with the family Irisviel is in. (Benefit: stay at home more, connect with neighbors more easily)
[X] Irisviel: Other Plans (Write-In)
Maiya Hisau's plans for the Year: (Choose 2)
[X] Maiya's Cooking Redemption
While the family can live on take out, it is expensive. Despite her first attempt, perhaps practice will allow Maiya to produce something edible instead of poisonous. (Cost: 2 Resources) (Benefit: Maiya learns the Cooking skill (House Resource Upkeep halved while possessor stays at home the majority of the time), Maiya stays at home more)
[X] A New Job (Write-In)
There are plenty of jobs out there, and while Maiya has no experience with a normal job, it might be a good idea for her to get one. (Write-in job choice) (Benefit: Possible Mundane Work, +3 Resources or +1 Resource, Maiya stays at home more)
[X] Underworld Teachings
There is a darker world beneath the surface, one where the standard laws don't apply. Maiya wishes to teach Taiga and Shirou of this world so that they can either enter it prepared or know what to look for to stay out of it. (Benefit: Teach Taiga and Shirou about the Yakuza and similar organizations, Maiya stays at home more)
[X] The Missing Daughter
Kiritsugu's daughter is still back in Germany. It would be a good idea to rescue her before Kiritsugu does something foolish and gets himself killed. (Can only be done if Kiritsugu goes to try to save Illya) (Benefit: Increases likelihood of rescuing Illya by 10%, and increases likelihood of rescuing her on future attempts by 10%)
[X] The New Hitwoman
Maiya was once training under Kiritsugu, but now it is her turn in their art to work. (Benefit: Maiya works as an Assassin, +6 Resources)
[X] A New Hobby (Write-In)
There might be a hobby that catches Maiya's eyes. Now that she's in a family that is trying to be normal, it might be a good idea to try it. (Write-In Hobby choice) (Cost: 1 Resource) (Benefit: Opens opportunities, stay at home more)
[X] Practical Magecraft
Not all magecraft is big and flashy. Sometimes, it is the smaller, less seen effects that make the most impact. By teaching the children some of the hidden uses, they might be able to use magecraft subtly, possibly even in public places without drawing attention. (Benefit: Maiya teaches Shirou and Taiga subtle magecraft, and stays at home more)
[X] Curses
Kiritsugu is the person holding the group together. If he falls to the curse, the entire 'family' that was formed would likely fall apart. While Maiya is not skilled with magecraft, perhaps her research would give some idea of how to break it. (Benefit: 5% chance of removing 'Cursed' trait, or improves already existing attempt this year to do so by 5%; failure increases future attempts by 5%; stays at home more)
[X] The Simple Life
Maiya has gone from one conflict to another. Perhaps it is time for her to take a long break and interact with the kids. (Benefit: stay at home more, connect with neighbors more easily)

-[X] …was brought to the school's nurse's office by the girl with demon blood in her after Shirou had been knocked out by something. He claimed it was a thick black book that dropped out of the sky, but no one could find it.
-[X] …struck up a friendship with the two children of a magus family in the lobby of the local real estate building. They had moved from Fuyuki because they didn't have any obligations there for now and there were no elementary schools left in Fuyuki.

-[X] …fearing she'd starve, begged to learn to cook from the wife of the retired demon hunter, eventually learning in the Midori-Ya Café. While there, she met the elder daughter of the retired demon hunter. If Taiga keeps it up, she might have a job there in a couple of years.
-[X] …kept sneaking into the local dojo run by the son of the retired demon hunter. Despite not being able to afford lessons, she managed to convince the young man to let her fight, eventually scaring away most of the other visitors. If Taiga keeps visiting, she might have a job there in a couple years.

-[X] …found an odd boy Shirou's age leaving the home of the retired Executor in the dead of night.
-[X] …babysat the two children of the Second Owner while the woman checked on her little project.
-[X] …brought home a sealed box with a single ruby and a single sapphire embedded in it. Apparently, it was a gift from an old man in thanks for helping move construction materials about the site where a Café was being built. The man seemed quite glad to give it to Taiga.

-[X] …found a red wolf that had been injured, turning it in to the local veterinarian for treatment. Said wolf went missing two days later.
Plenty of choices.
The Focuses are what areas the children focus on for the year, and how well they are in certain areas will influence what they do after they graduate.
Some event choices give contacts, others give objects, and some change the flow of the story or reveal things going on.
Please excuse the new format, it is so that it is more easily read and understood by the vote counter.
You took two months to have the family get settled into Uminari, putting down roots and connecting slightly with the other Moonlit Parents of the city. Two months for Taiga and Shirou to start making friends at their schools and resuming their studies.
It was then that the three adults, including yourself, went to work.
You started sending out attempts to connect to the remains of the Fujimura Yakuza, in an effort to rebuild it. Raiga Fujimura was dead, killed by Ea towards the end of the Grail War, and most of his organization went with him. While he had focused mainly on Fuyuki, he knew better than to put his eggs all in one basket; there were still pockets of the Fujimura Yakuza throughout the surrounding cities, and contacts through all of Japan. They were all just scattered without central leadership.
Leadership you could provide.
You left Irisviel to tend to the children, taking Maiya with you, and made contact with several groups of Fujimura's men, bringing them back into contact with each other. There were a few people who might have caused problems, but thanks to a few assassinations by Maiya, the Fujimura Yakuza mostly decided that you really were one of them. This allowed you to bring the organization back from the brink and pick up most of the pieces that were left.
They still would prefer it if Taiga could be put in charge, though. Something about family.
In the meantime, Irisviel watched over both Shirou and Taiga as they went to school. While both Maiya and yourself were out, she interacted with the other Moonlit Parents of the city, increasing their connections slightly while borrowing several magecraft books, in particular about curses. While her research didn't turn anything solid up, she made a few notes on possible ways to get rid of the curse that you are suffering from.
In the meantime, Taiga threw herself into her school life. She was a friendly face around almost every corner, energetic with her life. She joined the school Kendo Club, and although half of the club quit after she joined, the club captain thinks that Taiga might be able to go into the national Kendo Circuit in a few years.
They just need to convince her to remove that tiger charm from Torashinai.
Lacking true friends at that point, Shirou eventually started making his way to Taiga's middle school after his classes were over for the day. He participated in the school's Kendo Club for a week, lasting against Taiga the longest due to his small size and is willingness to move fast (but usually not fast enough), he started wandering the campus and experiencing the other clubs. After a few days with the Tea Ceremony Club and the Literature Club, he wandered into the Kyudo Club, the Archery Club. The bows were too big for him, and he was supposedly wasn't strong enough to fire the arrows.
The Club were surprised when Shirou fired an arrow and it fell short about three centimeters from the target with his first shot. Granted, he fell down when firing that first shot, but it was better than what many of the Middle School Students had done when they had taken their first shots.
Within a week, Shirou was firing arrows accurately, even if it took a minute to get each shot lined up so that he no longer missed the target.
Shirou also spent a large amount of time learning how to cook. After the disastrous week where the entire family took turns trying to cook, it seemed he had taken it upon himself to make sure the family didn't have to depend on take out. He progressed rather rapidly, and by the end of the year was able to feed a family of six with his meals.
However, the week before you and Maiya returned home, there was a problem that occurred that revealed something bigger.
The daughter of the retired Executor started to punch the daughter of the demon/human hybrids while at school. Shirou, wanting to protect the hybrid for some reason only known to him, leapt between the two girls and started to try to beat the Executor's daughter to the point where she stopped fighting.
It was at that point that the daughter of the retired demon hunter leapt in and started punching both Shirou and the Executor's daughter. It took a minute before the teachers could break apart the three-way fight.
Arisa Bannings, Suzuka Tsukimura, Nahona Takamachi, and Shirou Emiya were held after school as the teachers tried to contact their parents. While they were waiting, they chatted about their mundane lives, and formed a weak friendship that would only grow when they were placed in detention for the rest of the week. Though it was questionable why Arisa and Suzuka were fighting in the first place.
However, when the parents of the four were discussing with the principle of the school, the Second Owner of the city discovered someone trying to pay a visit to Mr. Bannings to try, once again, convince him to get out of the restaurant business and return to work to the Church.
Merem Solomon, the 20th Dead Apostle Ancestor, had apparently been sneaking in and out of the city for the past few years, trying to convince Mr. Bannings to return to working for the Church. To make matters more complicated, the child-like Dead Apostle Ancestor had contacted both Arisa and Suzuka two years ago, teaching them a little of the Moonlit World. He gave Arisa her first set of Black Keys, and taught Suzuka a bit about her demon blood so she could make use of it without it consuming her.
The Second Owner was furious at Merem's presence, and not being informed of his continuous visits to Uminari City. Mr. Bannings and Mr. Tsukimura were angry at their efforts to keep their daughters out of the Moonlit World being for naught because of a bored Dead Apostle Ancestor. Mr. Bannings was also upset at the fact that the vampire was caught, since he had been visiting without the notice of the Second Owner for years.
Of course, no one actually did anything about Merem Solomon. He was a friendly Dead Apostle Ancestor, and no one wanted to give him an excuse to change that fact.
Because of him, though, the Second Owner announced her intention to watch the Bannings family like a hawk for the rest of their stay in Uminari. She did not like not being informed of beings like Merem in the city, and had every intention of evicting the Bannings family if such a lapse of judgment occurred on their part again.
After the detentions of the children were served, you and Maiya finally returned home, to the scene of Shirou cooking for the three girls and Taiga after school.
A week into your return, against your better judgment, you taught Shirou and Taiga some simple magecraft, and while Taiga lost interest quickly, focusing on her English studies, Shirou put in a lot of effort into the his magecraft, citing the need to save everyone. Despite his declaration raising an eyebrow of yours, and his effort, his magecraft attempts went poorly. Reinforcement of objects is all he can manage to do at this point, but half the time the object is barely reinforced, and the other half of the time the object is destroyed to some extent.
If he showed significant progress, perhaps you'd be willing to teach him alteration or projection later down the line. You would prefer it if he gave up learning about magecraft, which is why you probably are not giving this teaching more than a half-hearted effort. At least Taiga wasn't interested, so you only had to convince the younger child to give up.
For the next couple months, the three adults of the house made plans. Your biological daughter, Illya, was still trapped in Germany, and you doubted that her grandfather would just hand her over. Still, you had three people with you, one of whom had lived all her life in the target area. While failure was a possibility, the odds of success were much greater than they would have been had you been going in alone.
Late in the year, all three of you departed, trusting Taiga to take care of Shirou (though it seemed to be the other way around), with the Takamachi family keeping an eye on the two in case they couldn't handle themselves.
While all the adults were out of town to rescue Illya, Taiga wandered into a construction site where a café was being built. With some confusion from a few of the workers, Taiga was drafted into moving things from point A to point B on the site. It took a day for all the workers to realize that Taiga wasn't a hired worker, but the man who was having the café built waved off their concerns and hired Taiga to keep doing what she had been doing for the rest of the week.
At the end of the week, when the café was finished, the man gave Taiga a few ten-thousands worth of Yen in payment, and a sealed box. The box was made of wood and was rather plain looking, except for the lid of it, where a small sapphire and a small ruby were embedded into it. Taiga tried to refuse, but the man insisted.
A week later, you and the rest of the adults returned to Uminari… successful.
When the three of you had first arrived outside the area of the Einzbern grounds, Irisviel broke the bounded fields with your guidance, and then Maiya and yourself led the way deep into the grounds. You slew several Homunculi and got in sight of the mansion before you had to retreat.
You licked your wounds for a week before the three of you tried again.
This time, with their defenses weakened from the previous assault, you managed to get into the mansion. Somewhere along the line, you managed to accidentally activate your Soul Gem, putting yourself in a black dress with purple trimmings. While it wasn't the best suited outfit for the job, it gave some kind of magical effect that made you hard to look at and aim at. Also, when Maiya was injured, you were able to heal her surprisingly fast.
After a conflict lasting several hours, you encountered Jubstacheit von Einzbern. You took cover long enough to use a Grief Seed on your Soul Gem, since it was looking dark, but to your horror, the Grief Seed exploded.
The resulting demon killed the Einzbern head, allowing you a chance to run and grab Illya and get the four of you out.
It took a while to get back to your normal clothes, which Irisviel found amusing. But the mission was successful, and if it took dressing in a dress to do it, so be it.
You spent the next month creating forged identities for your daughter, before the four of you returned to Uminari. It was then that you heard that the new head of the Einzbern family had put a small bounty on your head.
Hopefully, they'd never find you.
December rolled around, and Irisviel decided to celebrate the western holiday of Christmas, earning confused glances from the rest of the household. Illya was thrilled with the half-dozen Ranma ½ manga books she received, and couldn't wait to start reading. You shot down your wife's attempt to give Shirou a beginner's magecraft book, instead settling for a set of cooking utensils that will likely see use in the near future. Taiga was gifted with a book on kendo, which promises to teach the girl how to bring more pain with Torashinai.
There may have been a few hiccups, but your family is whole. You need nothing else for this western holiday.
…Though there was the small matter of Irisviel and Maiya both becoming pregnant and disliking each other. Hopefully they'll just aim for you and not the children; while you're wearing that dress, you can hopefully get out of range without a scratch.

CONGRATULATIONS!
You have successfully rescued Illya in the first year!
You might be cursed, and you might have assassins starting to come in to kill your family (it was an accident that you had the demon kill Jubstacheit before you could shoot him yourself), and there is the problem of the Moonlit World being stronger in Uminari than you first thought...
...But the family is whole, you have a steady income (even though it isn't enough by itself), and you're all generally happy. Not even the impending vasectomy is going to be a big problem.
Life is going to be good.
Kiritsugu Emiya's Plans for the Year: (Choose 2)
[X] Kiritsugu: Never Again
The last war was a disaster. It would be a good idea to make sure such a war never happened again by blowing up the Ley-Lines near Fuyuki.
(Cost: 2 Resources, 1 Time) (Benefit: ???)
[X] Kiritsugu: Breaking the Grail's Curse
This curse is going to kill you eventually if you don't get rid of it. You need to find a cure in order to be freed of it. Time for heavy research.
(Cost: 1 Resources, 2 Time) (Benefit: 9% chance of removing 'Cursed' trait; failure increases future attempts by 5%; stays at home more)
-[X] Kiritsugu: Backup to Break the Curse
This is out of your league. You need an expert, or multiple experts, in order to get a cure.
(Cost: 3 Resources, 2 Time) (Benefit: 19% chance of removing 'Cursed' trait; failure increases future attempts by 15%)
[X] Kiritsugu: Kiritusgu the Cook
You are not a cook, and because no one else stepped up to the plate, your adopted son took up the skill. With children expected to increase the size of the family by the end of the year, it might be a good idea to learn how to cook to reduce the stress of your son.
(Cost: 2 Resources, 1 Time) (Benefit: Stay at home more, Kiritsugu gains Cook skill (House Resource Upkeep halved while possessor stays at home the majority of the time))
[X] Kiritsugu: Underworld Introductions
The Fujimura Yakuza is loyal to you for the moment, but they are only loyal to you because you are taking care of the heir to the Yakuza. Perhaps it would be a good idea to bring Taiga into the Yakuza dealings so that she can keep the Yakuza going, even if she isn't keen on the idea.
(Cost: 1 Time) (Benefit: ???)
[X] Kiritsugu: Hitman for Hire
You may not be as good as you used to be, but you can still use a gun. Make use of your skills and select easier targets.
(Cost: 2 Time) (Benefit: Work as an Assassin, +6 Resources)
[X] Kiritsugu: Return of the Magus Killer
It may be risky, but you can still fight, and fight hard. While it will stretch what little energy you have left, if you pull it off, your family will be very well off.
(Cost: 3 Time, 1 Resource, 26% chance of death on job) (Benefit: Work as an Assassin, +10 Resources)
[X] Kiritsugu: Dreams?
[X] Kiritsugu: Kiritsugu's Mundane Job (Write-In)
Surely you can find a mundane job in the world you can do. Right? Right? (Write-In Job)
(Cost: 1 Time) (Benefit: Possible Mundane Work, +3 Resources or +1 Resource, Stay at home more)
[X] Kiritsugu: Hobbyist (Write-In Hobby)
You could take up a mundane hobby. People get paid for doing their hobbies all the time. How hard could it be? (Write-In Hobby)
(Cost: 1 Time, 1 Resource) (Benefit: Opens opportunities, stay at home more)
[X] Kiritsugu: Magecraft Training
Shirou is interested in magecraft… you aren't going to be able to deter him, so you best give him a full scale education. Taiga is also interested, but not to the extent of Shirou, and Illya might desire to learn a few of your tricks.
(Cost: 2 Time) (Benefit: Children's magecraft improves)
[X] Kiritsugu: On Souls and Grief
As much as you dread the thought, perhaps you best track down Assassin to learn about your Soul Gem and 'Grief Seeds'. He may be insane, but that insanity gives him knowledge that you lack. You just need to convince him to give you just the information you request and no more.
(Cost: 1 Time, 1 Resource) (Benefit: In-Character Knowledge of Puella Magi)
[X] Kiritsugu: The City of Uminari
There are multiple groups going on in Uminari. The 20th Dead Apostle Ancestor showing up last year was just the tip of it. Perhaps it might be a good idea to have yourself organize a profile of everyone and everything of importance so that the family knows who is who in the city.
(Cost: 1 Time) (Benefit: Complete overview of everyone tied to the Moonlit World in some way in Uminari, stays at home more, connects with neighbors more easily)
[X] Kiritsugu: The Family Man
You are on a timer until your death. Perhaps it would be nice to simply relax with your family.
(Benefit: stay at home more, connect with neighbors more easily)
[X] Kiritsugu: Other Plans (Write-In)
Irisviel von Einzbern's Plans for the Year: (Choose 2)
[X] Irisviel: Too Helpful
While in classes the previous year, whenever a teacher needed something done, Shirou volunteered his assistance. There was also the time he jumped into a beatdown of Suzuka by Arisa before Nahona jumped in. Finally, while it could be a sense of self-preservation, he seems perfectly willing to cook for the family. Perhaps making sure he sees a psychiatrist can convince Shirou to avoid being too helpful?
(Cost: 1 Resource) (Benefit: Stays at home more, ???)
[X] Irisviel: Harem Protagonist Preparation
Irisviel's studies of Manga and Anime have given her a sense of sorts. This sense points out things that others might not understand. And her senses are telling her that her adopted son is going to be a Harem Protagonist, so she's planning to push Shirou towards a girl of her choosing!
(Benefit: Extra introduction for Shirou, or additional time spent with someone for Shirou, Irisviel stays at home more)
[X] Irisviel: Driving Lessons

(Cost: 1 Resource) (Benefit: Opens opportunities for her, stays at home more)
[X] Irisviel: Irisviel's Cooking Lessons
The maids always did the cooking back in Germany, but now, now that she is expecting, it might be time for Irisviel to learn to cook so that she can fulfill that 'mother' role. Hopefully she won't burn too much food.

(Benefit: 15% chance of removing 'Cursed' trait, or improves already existing attempt this year to do so by 10%; failure increases future attempts by 5%; stays at home more)
[X] Irisviel: Magecraft Training
Irisviel is willing to spend time to improve Shirou's and Taiga's magecraft education. Taiga is unimportant in her eyes; it is Shirou she wants to focus on, to prepare for the girls so that he can protect them and get them to fall in love with him.
(Benefit: The children's magecraft improves, Irisviel stays at home more)
[X] Irisviel: A Moonlit Introduction
It turns out that the Bannings and Tsukimura children are well aware of the Moonlit World, despite the wishes of their parents. It might be a good idea to bring Shirou into their fold, to let them know that he is trying to be a part of that world as well.
(Benefit: Shirou, Arisa, and Suzuka all aware of each other in Moonlit World, Irisviel stays at home more)

(Benefit: No Assassins for the year, Maiya stays at home more)

(Benefit: Maiya teaches the children subtle magecraft, and stays at home more)
[X] Maiya: Curses
Kiritsugu is the person holding the group together. If he falls to the curse, the entire 'family' that was formed would likely fall apart. While Maiya is not skilled with magecraft, perhaps her research would give some idea of how to break it.
