I would maybe suggest people treat Stripe and other hero units as having similar agency and ability as Edgar. If it was as simple as 'just assassinate them' they wouldn't be hero units, they'd be news ticker events.

Soberan, I was asking for a cite about the fact that they were subject to government suppression, not whatever that's all about. And no, "they had an alien blaster" is not proof they were suppressed by the government.

It was a hypothesis on my part over why the government would try to shut them down, as for the citation this was written in Fallout 2 holodisk:

With the publication of countless books and journals, the Hub began spreading the word of Hubology - and immediately became a target for his detractors. They called his work "pseudo-science" and "dangerous dribble that can only hurt its adherents." Despite the collected sightings of Extra-Terrestrial Vehicles across the globe, they insisted on quashing the Hub's word. We know that they were simply stupid and misguided, but they were powerful; they included governments and corporations and other such entities, keeping the greatest news of all time from the people of the earth.

Hubology was driven underground for a time
, marshaling its forces against the attacks of those who envied its simplicity and ease of use for the common man. When at last the Hubologists of that time struck back, they did it in such a way that few could stand against them - they infiltrated the organizations that sought to destroy them and created "television" shows that sought to expose the lies the government had fed the people.

This caused a subtle backlash against our religion. The common man found reason to doubt Hubology because of the distorted teachings of the media, and we had to wage a long campaign against those who would call us crackpots. During this time, sadly, the great Hub passed away.

Obviously this is a very rosy view of they past but considerate the Enclave has a interest in keeping alien life a secret to the point of murdering people in cold blood as per Reid Underwood's terminal in Fallout 3 Motership Zeta add-on and the government more authoritarian leanings they probably would not take Hubology well.

Okay, so, first off:

Mothership Zeta is not being treated as canon here. Like flat out, I do not like most of the lore associated with that DLC. I think it's genuinely one of my least favorite parts of 3, at least in terms of lore, and I have never seen its content brought up in a way I've found not annoying. Using it to justify a particular fanon that the QM has already jossed isn't particularly new, but it is the first time someones done it for the Hubbologists. 76 related alien content- it depends, that game did a lot to redeem the weirder side of fallout in my eyes, but Zeta in particular is persona non-grata for me.

Second, you need to stop taking things at face value when they're produced by an obviously in-universe biased source: that reads like standard UFO nutjob conspiracy nonsense about how the truth is (or, well, was) being suppressed mixed with a cope-laden rendition of the early church of scientology's history.

I really, really think we should do the defenses for our DoP headquarters thanks to the Next attacks. Seriously, why in the world do people keep putting this off? We literally just got screwed over massively thanks to a hurricane with only GECKO being spared thanks to our preparations. Waiting until NEXT does something is a terrible idea that makes no sense and will absolutely screw us over considering how active they have been in messing with agencies like ours.
-[] FACILITIES (0 dice; +1)
--[] ACME Construction Catelogue
---[] 2 Benoit: (109/200 --> 221/200)
DIdn't we lose 100 progress to all our projects?
--[] TAPP Analysis
---[] 1 Government (0/300 --> 55/300)
I'm not sure what possible reason for doing this now of all times. It's a 300 progress project and we have numerous other things we need to be working on. Heck, the dice here could go to helping clear up one of our other problems we are having right now.

So, did the weather stations actually end up helping much with the super hurricane? Because doesn't seem like they actually helped much.

New Orleans gains Disaster Swept [III] so i think we should put more then one die on its recovery and to be sure that we complete at least a phase this turn.
Community Restoration Program (Baton Rouge) might have only one stage of Disaster Swept but any overflow can help other project there.

Also the hurricane damaging all incomplete projects means we need to focus more on completing projects before the hurricane season can damage them.

[] Plan: Community Restoration Program
--[] Floodwall Expansion (Baton Rouge)

-[] SCIENCE (0 dice; +5)

--[] Australia
---[] 2 Edgar + 1 Ecology

Sam Blackwell Gives Speech: The controversial Virginian senator gave a speech in the state Capitol March 17th, a few days after Superhurricane Larry hit Lousiana, urging his constituents to donate whatever they could to help residents of the state that were…suffering…From…

…Huh. He had…that was a lot of material support. From him AND his constituents. Money and supplies. It wasn't pocket change either, you ran the numbers through your fraud calculator from the audit, this represented a HEFTY chunk of money for the people giving it. Food, money, construction material. You…were honestly surprised.
+1 [Disaster] Dice from Sam Blackwell, +3 Funding. -10 Wrath.

You know since Blackwell keep appearing it sounds like foreshadowing that he will have a appearance in the quest itself and the Free States too.

I mean in some of the Fates in Part 1 they did try to forcefully seceed from the Union and it would make sense the Free States would start to branch out across America in search of allies and estabelish they own cells in they future war against the federal goverment.

If Knightfall be suscceful they probably could make a appearance in Louisiana.

Although since they have libertarians on they ranks Edgar probably would not like them.

seriously, what is even the point of doing TAPP besides the wrath? Because seems like it would be better in the long run to start putting government dice on Weather Stations for other communities to reduce future disasters. Preferably starting with New Orleans.

Well for one thing it means that Edgar knows how the TAPP works IC. I'm sure you can see why some people might think that's important.

It make sense to Edgar start looking for ways to saboutage TAPP being who he is and that probably would lead him to find inconsistencies in the algorathim that were not supposed to be there.

Wasn't TAPP made to be pretty random by design? Not sure how that would help us in any way besides the wrath gain.

There are a ton of things that would make sense for Edgar to look into. Not sure why people want TAPP specifically though.

The reason is because of the dice in question can only be used on Tapp or another weather station

Okay, so I'm thinking, if we do Bootlegger Brigade, maybe the Russian mob can survive the war. And, if they do, form a new Russian Tsardom, which I just find really funny.

Really should get the guards for security. Not only that there's also the whole Robco hero investigating into RADICAL that should probably be handled alongside the whole dealing with the Pinkertons.

We now also need to repair a lot of communities. Mostly New Orleans but Gecko needs work to. Also do the floodwalls also New Orleans' were basicly taken out.

Private Lab [Corporate, Construction, Faction, [Charity-Temporary]]: A private research lab. Built for an organization, it cost a pretty penny, but it bought you goodwill with the organization, bolstered their own research efforts, and provided infrastructure that could be appropriated by whatever social or scientific apparatuses that formed post-bomb. 0/200/600. Select Community, Faction. Increases the Research Value of both. Increase DoP Goodwill of chosen faction. Second phase grants random bonus stat to both community and faction. Cost 2 Funding. Grants 3 Influence. First built grants Hubbology faction card.
...I don't know why, but I kinda want the EPA selected as a faction for one of these to see what they'd do.

Would suggest the NOAA but their putting labs in the Weather stations. But at the same time would it be something like expanding the labs at the weather station or something?

...A DoP lab or Daisy lab?

In general want to build in Gecko but that's mostly cause that community is the one I'm now most attached to followed by New Orleans but the new mayor lessened it with what he's doing.

Really want to unlock the Kisatchie National Forest Community Card to see what we could do there.

Suppose there's also the whole sunken parish.

Do remember last convention did do some prograss on one but didn't complete them, but now seems like there's a new possibility to assist them against AMS.

Anyways, on to the new community cards. I want a weather station in Compound Pluto and I'm curious how putting one in Harlem could go but probably better things to do there. Also want the broadcast stations as well.

Also don't we need to do something about House's agent? The guy is gaining a lot of information on us and it feels weird that more people aren't doing anything about them. Especially since we know for sure that that would be a serious problem for us.
The reason is because of the dice in question can only be used on Tapp or another weather station
As I said before, with recent events seems like we should be investing more in weather stations anyway. especially since each new one improves the overall results.
I feel like fucking with Clancy would promptly get Edgar unpersoned so hard.
Yeah, seriously though. Clancy is a freaking super spy and master in this kind of thing. Trying to blackmail someone like Clancy seems like it would absolutely backfire horribly.

Local Philanthropy [Charity, Government]: Firefighters, hospitals, public transportation and other services were generally deeply underfunded. By contributing to their finances, it would both help that community develop important infrastructure to help weather disaster, as well as buy some local good-will for the department in that community. 0/100/200, SELECT COMMUNITY. Increases Team America Goodwill and Responder Preparedness stat. Cost 1 Funding to complete each phase. +Wrath. TAX WRITE OFF APPLIED, FIRST IS FREE.

We could trow the government dice here since is only 100 for the first phase plus is free as well. Maybe we can use it in New Orleans since with the mass privatizations the public services are going to need, specially now that the floodwall is breached or we can trow them in Harlen since we also have a bonus there as well.

Anyway it would be nice to have Tax Write Off move up to other projects as well.

Edit: Actually Harlem would be a good project for Local Philanthropy since the first phase is free thanks to Tax Write Off therefore we don't need to bank the increase cost in funding plus if we get lucky we can finish the first phase in two turns since the Community has one extra dice for it thus allowing to accomplish the sponsorship rather quickly.
