Chapter 1 (Introduction)
A Megacookie and pyroflare77 collaboration. The latter wrote this OP (including this part), but is handing off topic duty to the former due to likely doing overall less updates.

---

Everything was normal a few days ago. Most people probably preferred the time when one of life's greatest mysteries—whether or not there was a God—remained forever unknowable except in the resolve of one's faith.

Well it turns out there wasn't just a God. There were all of them. And they all came back at once.

The Gods of old made things a Very Big Deal. Amidst the collective existential crisis humanity was going through, they made sure to educate their creations as to the purpose of their absence and for the reason of their return. According to the Gods, back in ancient times of yore, each of them had their own different Earth they presided over. Each pantheon had their own enemies and problems to deal with, which all decided to flare up at the same time in an event known as the Titanomachy. The Gods were victorious, and any enemies that were not outright slain were sealed away.

It turns out this reduced the overall presence of divine legend amidst the world, making it more and more difficult for the Gods to interact with mankind. So rather than fuss about their fading influence, they decided to depart and annihilate any remnants of their enemies so that a new golden age of man could begin.

From what you gathered, somehow the lack of divine legend caused all of the separate realities the pantheons had crafted to coalesce into one whole that was still vaguely similar to the Gods, but mostly horrifyingly alien with the influence of several other pantheons.

And, of course, humanity was being chided for the current state of the world, similar to a child being left alone for a few minutes and the parent returning to crayon drawings over every single surface of the house.

The Gods had their own issue with this new combined reality presented before them. Who would rule?

Rather than fight among themselves, which would surely annihilate reality entirely, the Gods settled one a proxy war; one that would get mortals involved, too! A neutral ground was created in the Atlantic Ocean. Atlantis, which never existed, was now going to be the site of the battle that would decide the entire fate of humanity.

You were one of the champions chosen by the Gods to fight in their war. Apparently there was no real rhyme or reason for just who was elevated to become a champion. The champions, two representing each pantheon, would do battle on Atlantis, winner take all. The champion that won the battle royale would ensure their pantheon would inherit Earth, while all other pantheons would have to leave this reality.

No pressure.

At least you were guaranteed a good afterlife if you were slain in this conflict. How reassuring. Though, in the back of your mind, now knowing that there was indeed an afterlife, and that you would have a pleasant one, made being thrust into this blood sport just a bit more comforting.

But before we find out who you were and who you are now, we need to know which pantheon selected you to be their champion.

The Tuatha were beaten and driven out by humanity in their mythology. Not in a prophecy sort of way - it already happened.

We'll make that ass whoopin' apply to every other pantheon and their "Champions".

The Tuatha de Danaan are a pantheon of survivor's, even in the modern day they survive (if only as shadows of their former selves) as fae and the like.
Let's be the Star Tribe!

Chapter 2
Through some sneaky unannounced vote edits, one of the Tuatha de Danaan has decided to elevate you to be their champion in the War of Gods. We'll get back to that, since we need vague mechanical aspects of a character first before a specific God can boost those aspects up.

Right now we shall decide how your stats play out. The stat system in this quest is blatantly stolen from World of Darkness consists of three categories crossed with three types for a total of nine stats to decide. The three categories are physical, mental, and social. You can perform well in the War of Gods with any of these three attributes. You can express them in three different ways: power, adaptability, and stability.

This makes the nine stats Strength (physical/power), Dexterity (physical/adaptability), Constitution (physical/stability), Intelligence (mental/power), Wits (mental/adaptability), Resolve (mental/stability), Presence (social/power), Manipulation (social/adaptability), and Composure (social/stability).

The stats have a ranking system, which is a simple letter grading system:

-E stands for wEEniE. Lowly mortals like you a couple of days ago belong in this rank, with only a few exceptional ones able to break the bonds of this hut. So it's not good to be an E rank.

-D stands for Dino-mite. This rank is where your aptitude for a stat reaches the peak capabilities of mortals or even a bit beyond. So the strongest dudes, the smartest brains, and so on are impressive, but they only get a complimentary card with that phrase when compared to divine beings.

-C stands for Cool Guy. This rank is usually the highest that fodder reach in something, and is the base line for any legendary being that will matter at all in the slightest. You are one of these Cool Guys.

-B stands for Baller. No longer content to jam with the rest, this rank enables you to slam with the best. You'll probably get slapped away by the strongest, but you can at least hold your own here.

-A stands for Alpha. You are the ruler of the pack at this rank, being among the best in the particular stat. But as an alpha, you can still get beaten up or have your chick stolen. Such humiliations won't lose your alpha stat, but the possibility of being surpassed is there.

-S stands for Supreme. You are at the peak of your stat. Similar to the pizza I don't like, you cannot get any better than supreme. You can keep adding as many toppings as you like, even making a pizza more topping than pizza, and it will still remain supreme.

With this in mind, you must also decide the importance of your stats. Of physical, mental, and social, you must pick one category to prioritize and one to neglect. So, for this vote:

-Pick your primary stat from among physical, mental, or social. Two of its associations will be B rank and one will be C rank.
-Pick your secondary stat. One association will be B rank, one will be C rank, and one will be D rank.
-Pick your tertiary stat. One association will be C rank and two will be D rank.

Optionally, you can lower one D rank to a E rank to be able to boost an B rank to an A rank.

[] I am a sample vote. Plan friendly uniform template:
-Strength 9001
-Dexterity Z
-Stamina Q
-Intelligence X
-Wits :thonk:
-Resolve C
-Presence lacking
-Manipulation ?
-Composure sometimes

I haven't a clue what our build should be. I think we should definitely try to ensure we have a good head on our shoulders but aside from that I've got nothing.

@pyroflare77 Would Presence affect things via the rule of cool? Could it random events happen for us to always look amazing, even if we had terrible physical stats? Or would it be more that is affects leadership and how serious people take us?
