[X] Answer the last riddle. It sounds like you're in the clear, but no need to take chances. He's not the easiest fellow to understand.
-[X] Minor, if this even counts as a contract anymore.
[X] Go through his door.
-[X] ...One more question first though. What if I want to leave?

Alright, tutorial over, let's get this show on the road. :coolbeans:

...So, how do you keep ending up in the Tally, Lazy? I thought the OP wasn't included in those?

I have no clue. I think it's probably because I format my posts with an [X] at the beginning to show the past choices made, for the convenience of anyone who does decide to binge-read this via the threadmarks, which I did on some other quests.

Why is the 'riddle on' option crossed out? What is there to do but continue the winning streak?

Well then.

Wait, there's an "I don't have a clue what I'm doing" tag?!

Why did I not already know that

Err, anyway.

Inserted tally. Please vote, I love it when you do and I don't want this quest to die so early... sorry for the short updates, but the conflict resolution system was built around that, though I can edit to include strategies instead of specific contracts like this:

-[] Strategy...

    -[X] But first…
--[X] Try to ask him a question. What is the point of this? Do I ever win? What happens if I guess wrong?

You gonna wait for other voters or just write the update now? I could go pester some people if you want.

Can't really give a recommendation one way or another as for how the quest should be structured, though I have been enjoying the short updates just fine.

Diamond 3 vs. Club King
Gateman wins Minor

Four and one. Perhaps that means addition, which means that there are five in total… Just one more until you're done. "Someone burned a mansion down, Alice." Fire. "A room of money, one of paintings, and another of jewels. All rich and beautiful, they are worth a fortune each! So which does the policeman save first?" Does he know about what you did? Was that why he asked you that? The thought chews a bit at you, and you think about how long you have before you finish at last. This is clearly a trick question… "The one he's closest to."

He raises an eyebrow, his eye widening. "Wrong! Just one wrong, out of four and one. Perhaps you do know what a cloud of sand is." Taking his halberd, he slams it down on the ground, and the great metal door slides open, pulling at you with a strange sort of gravity. Inside it are endless shelves and chairs, some of which are floating inside it. A clock strikes, signaling the passing of the sun. Looking down at the rabbit-hole, you feel slightly nauseous. "One last question… what if I want to leave?"

"Alice can't." He says. "Wonderland welcomes you! What have you to be sad about?"

At the end of the door is only a pale light. It pulls at you, and your hair flies towards it. There's still another option. Isn't there? But no, there are none other. And it's too late now. You sigh, releasing your anxieties, releasing your grades, your brother, the fire you set… why worry about them now, when this is so close? Feels so real? You close your eyes, and you fall.

It feels like forever and it feels like half a minute. You plunge through the shelves, each lined with memories. A worn book, titled Eragon. A PlayStation. A photograph of a family smiling near the Leaning Tower of Pisa. A stuffed bunny, its ears flopped down without any stuffing in them. A red scarf. A soccer ball. A cookbook. So many memories… you feel like you know some of them… a picture of you taken at Thanksgiving. Your mother stands, her hands on the shoulders of your brother. He's eleven in the picture, and seems a bit embarrassed. His yellow hair drapes down his shoulders, long and wavy, dyed purple at the ends. You're fourteen in the picture, and your face is still round. You wear your carrot hairpin proudly, and stand stiffly. Father is to your right, and to his right grandmother, who died a few years ago. How must they be getting on? Are they aware you're gone yet?

The picture passes from your eyes as you fall, and break past the shelves, past the light, and then you're in a sky, seeing a green and purple land underneath you. Four castles mark its corners, with one ruined palace in the center. After a while, the borders of the land simply fade into mist. The sky is perfectly baby-blue, with white cotton-candy clouds, like something drawn by a child.

You wonder if landing will hurt from this far up.

That wonder which you saw upon waking

[X] The Forest of Mirror Shards

Because why not.

The whole "releasing your worries" thing looks a bit like an "I'm giving up on getting home," which would be a little disappointing, but it's not definite and she pretty clearly still misses her old life, so eh. Good update.

Seems like a nice, friendly place to meet new people! I'm sure nothing could possibly go wrong.

She hasn't given up yet, but she thinks going further in will find her a way out, and just passing through the gates results in some memory loss, and effects like that.

Sixteen. Gail's birthday is April 13.
...1984 or 1990?

1984 would set this probably in February or March 2001, just after the second killing confirmed that there was a pattern forming, making us the third Alice (and Miku the fourth, and Len & Rin the fifth, assuming things go basically the same - which they won't, but whatever).

That would be pretty interesting, but I think I'd almost prefer 1990 - that would set this in 2006 or early 2007, after the killings canonically stopped, making us the fifth Alice. Both possibilities offer interesting options, but I think I'd prefer everyone else already being here. ...Though having the opportunity to avert Kaito's death might be nice too. Hmm. We'll see how it plays out.

Huh, seem to have missed the previous vote. Oh wel, good update even though we lost, Luckily it was only a minor loss.
I say lets go to the mirror forrest, a forrest means trees we can set on fire...What do you mean you can't set glass trees on fire? You can If you try hard enough!
Also Some questions
What would we have gained If we won? A new joker/jester pertaining to gatekeep? What did we gain from winning major twice With greeds boost to winning minor and major?
Is us losing memories wonderland trying to keep is here by removing our reason to go home, our memories of home?
(Also I like Gail's character from What we have seen of it)
