Let's play Elona

Ehh, I'm actually pretty okay in terms of survivaling. Api Nut Cookies are the best. The Bandits prolly see me as a stable business partner these days, what with how many times I pay them off. Only problem is when beginning a brand new game, and running straight into a gang first step out of the starting cave. Dammit.

As for the Gods thing, I'm actually leaning towards Lulwy (SPEED IS KING). The Black Angle also has a taunt ability IIRC, might help draw off aggro from your squishy little shell.

And sod that, the mental image of a little girl tromping aroud the woodlands with a snail on her head and a motherloving claymore in hand is adorable. Remember to switch out her kit to a one-handed weapon or take away her shield later though, current shield/2h setup gives a combat penalty if I'm not mistaken.

EDIT: ALWAYS watch the wells! Currently quarantining my little murdertroupe in the woodlands at the moment, as our resident Elean Wizard went for a drink and caught a nasty case of Alien. No way I'm entering any towns for the time being.
Speed is king when you actually get it. As a Riding snail, you get nothing, since it's your mount's speed that matters. You could ride the black angel, but I think Lulwy's Trick doesn't take her too far, thanks to the passives Horses get as appropriate mounts. I thought Ehekatl boosted Riding, actually, but misremembered. So a god that gives a strong pet, if you're going to go for combat utility, is your best bet (And in fairness, the Black Angel with the Vindale Bow or whatever it's called is pretty great). But Yacatect gives amazing non-combat benefits because
*Shepherd's Crook points threateningly once again*
Right then.

Talk with your wizard, tellt hem to wait at town (if you don't have Call Familiar), and pick up a poison potion or dye. Call them back (for 100g, if you don't have the charisma for Call FAmiliar) Throw the poison potion or dye at the wizard. Alien problems solved!

Is fishing actually a minigame where my actions affect the outcome? I always kinda zoned out after hitting the button. If so, neat!

And so, we worship Yacatect.

>OK! OK! I'll look after you!

The goddess give a boost to negotiation and traveling skill, very suitable for our tourist character who have traveler skill at the start.

I traveled around for a bit. It's interesting that the game do keep a record of how far you have traveled. The world map is a static place, and so we can calculate what distance a square on a world map is.

So from Derphy to Port Kapul we travel 300 mile over 1 day and 1 hour (not bad for horse riding journey)

The optimal trip from Derphy to Port Kapul took 19 actions, through 19 squares.

Of course we can not have taken the most optimal trip, so our trip is probably a bit longer.

Let say it took 260 mile for the optimal trip from Derphy to Port Kapul, 19 squares.

That mean to travel from a square to another square on the world map is approximately 14 mile.

We can travel to Palmia freely now without fear of Janitor, remembered we have previously captured a rare silver cat? It is for this Lady.

Mia.

The town peoples mostly ignore her because of her strangeness. The cat freak is probably what they called her.

She is a cat girl.

People in this world hate cat girl like her.

Why?

After giving her the silver cat

Mia: Nyou can have Mia's precious!

What?

Inventories description: A beating heart.

What?

Joking aside, this item will help us with capturing monster using spells.

We keep on traveling and meet an adventurer in Yowyn. Remembered when I said they can take our precious if we tally?

That guy has a precious item.

The skeleton key is very useful in picking lock and open door. Of course we have nothing to trade for it or strong enough to kill him, so moving on
(I'll note down your name, adventurer. You are on the list now!)

Back in Derphy, the nuclear bomb hasn't gone off yet.

The only weakness for nuclear bomber everywhere, you got to stay for it to explode.

Noel: He says to me, he says to me, 'Baby I'm TIRED of working for the MAN!' I say, I say, WHY DON'T YOU BLOW HIM TO BITS?"

Noel:You got STYLE, baby. But if you're going to be a real villain, you gotta get a gimmick.' And so I says YEAH, baby. A gimmick, that's it. High explosives."

A strange girl.

Is she happy, you wonder?

>You gain -80 karma.
>You are now a criminal

Yes.

Some who nuke a town is a criminal. Yes.

>It seem there are no new notices.

Because everyone who can give out new notices have already died.

Some how a beggar manage to survive, along with some static NPCs. Some really tough NPCs.

And that's how to completely screw your Character over reader. We are now a criminal, and once we go to town, imagine getting tag team by both janitors and guards.

Glorious.

And the town that we nuke, Derphy is our only hope.

All crime is legal here, remember?

Last edited:
I think that the criminal status is bound to karma, right? Well, that will be a lot of burials to make, then.

Also, nuking Derphy should be a good thing. :D

Soooo.... I was going to try and show how to survive as a criminal in Elona, you just have to camp out at Derphy and do quest until the karma is gone, but I get carry away with grinding and now we are back to normal!

At least as normal as a horrible human being. See, in game we have a karma system, determined by how many bad stuff that we done.

Thieving is -1 karma, killing is -4.

We can do quest and help other people for a positive karma (+1 each time).

Before we nuke the town, we had a karma of 20.

Helping old lady crosses the street, helping cat gets down from tree and all that. This is the opposite of that.

But at least we are not a criminal anymore
(I still don't understand how helping some farmer carrying some fruit and vegetable help us absolve our crime of nuking a city)

Being a criminal and camping out in Derphy is boring, you could also go to some place that doesn't have guard,

Like this

The Cyber Dome. Home to a futuristic group of people.

They have lost of awesome stuff, there are shopkeeper here who specialize in selling gun and machine, like refrigerator, computer, computer server.(It's not like we can do anything with computer in game, yet)

People from other town though

>I heard the people in Cyber Dome are freaks.

Sure, insult the people with all the guns, all the tech, nothing bad will happen, sure.

This is a good place for worshiper of Mani to buy stuff to worship him. Mani requires guns and machine for his offering. Also, in front of the dome is some gruff adventurer guy, he will give you some tips on adventuring...

That hasn't even been translated properly yet.

These people probably have nothing to do with the other futuristic race Yerles even though both have some really advance technology. Yerles aesthetic has always been more Steel and Guns even with their Robots and Soldiers. The people of Cyber Dome are more Glasses and Futuristic looking.

Basically Steampunk versus where our world is heading right now.

We check up on the informant to see the ranking of the current Adventurer, and it seem I was right, our old friend Airhead Loss Mebit (the one who is always going on about Shena's ass) ranks number 6 on the adventurer chart.

The strongest adventurer though...

>White hair Pimp Tomnof

If I'm the strongest person in the world, I would call my self something silly like that to. It's not like there are any being in the world who can say anything to that.

Probably something awesome McCool like...

>Absolute Zero.
>The Warden Spirit.

...Oh wait, I did have awesomely name character like that

But it was all LOST TO THE CHARACTER TRANSFER.

Really, seeing some of the old death from my older character make me sad. They are all lost now, at least their children are still with us.

Seeing all the high level adventurer is nice, but what about us you ask?

>Rank 40.

The lowest rank.

Even lower than a level 1.

Our Charisma is shit right now. We can not have more than 2 pets.

>But right now we have 3 pets.

It is a funny loop hole like that, Riding pet doesn't count toward the max number of pet, so we could always have 1 more pet than our true maximum.

Now this is how to raise our stats.

-Stats correspond to some skill that we use in our daily life.
-When we use the skill in our PC's life, he gains a bit of exp for the skill and at the same time, stats that correspond to that skill.
-The potential, is our exp gain modifier, so the the higher potential, the easier we gain exp and increase our stats and skills.
-You can gain potential by sleeping, eating good food and drinking magically imbue potion.

Because I want to raise our charisma, we learn negotiation.

>Every time you buy or sale something to a shopkeeper, we train negotiation.

It's a good skill that we will use often. Perfect for training Charisma.

A few more ominous lore books in game.

Nefia Syndrome
Written by A Zanan Scientist
Nefia Syndrome is a mind-affecting disease that affects those who enter ruins of Nefia.

*Symptoms
The disease has three major stages, with the symptoms becoming more severe in each stage.

Stage 1
Impaired judgement.

While the effects vary by individual, this stage typically presents with the reduced ability to use tools and recklessly jumping into packs of monsters. Infections at this stage present few problems for day-to-day life. In fact, most adventurers have reached this stage.

Stage 2
Decreased cognitive ability, and the complete inability to recognize certain objects by sight.

A large portion of those with stage two of the disease are unable to recognize stairs. In these cases, it becomes difficult for the infected to return to the surface without assistance.

Stage 3
The infected become more aggressive.

It is common for those with stage three of the disease to attack other members of their own race and even their long-time traveling companions. While the exact mechanism behind this increase in aggression is unknown, available data indicates that it is quite complex; the disease at this stage is often found in clusters of companions, suggesting that the aggression is not linked to inability to distinguish between other people and monsters. If the infected person's personality was passive to begin with, no changes may be visible in this stage.

Persons infected with stage 2 or later of the disease will often continue to wander about within ruins of Nefia. It is rare that they will return to the surface, particularly given that the ruins of Nefia periodically shift within the planet's crust.

*Causes

Theories about the cause of the disease include magic present within the ruins of Nefia and magnetic fields. However, no cause has been confirmed as of this time. All that is certain is that long stays within ruins of Nefia cause the disease to progress, though the susceptability to and progression of the disease varies immensely on an individual basis. Those who call themselves adventurers are almost always infected with stage 1 of the disease, though many will never develop any symptoms. It may perhaps be most accurate to state that those resistant to the disease are often active adventurers.

*Treatment

No cure for Nefia Syndrome has been discovered as of this time. However, through research it has been found that a companion who is resistant to the disease somehow seems to confer some of their resistance to the rest of his or her group. Similarly, in groups in which the leader has succumbed to the disease, the other members of the group are more likely to succumb to it as well. This evidence would suggest that there are large mental factors at play in the progression of the disease. There have also been cases of the disease going into remission once the infected person has left the ruins of Nefia.

*Public Knowledge

Though the danger of the ruins of Nefia has long been known, Nefia Syndrome has rarely been mentioned as a cause. Due to this, those confident in their fighting prowess would often think that little danger remained. As a result, it was once common for well-reknowned warriors to succumb to the disease. (*1) Many countries forbid individuals from entering ruins of Nefia or have their military forces manage the ruins. However, these measures have proven insufficient.

*1 The oldest known case that can be determined through historical documents occured nearly 3000 years ago in Kjaraht. A well-respected hero began acting strange while within ruins of Nefia and became afraid of "the ruins possessing him". In the end, the hero was executed.

It is extra ominous since the titular game Elona is shortened for Eternal League of Nefia.

So the dungeon in game are ruins of Nefia.

It is a mental disease that effect adventurers who step foots inside the dungeon.

It is the reason why, there are human enemy in dungeon, those have succumbed to the disease and gone mad.

Military has already stepped in a long time ago to manage the dungeons to stop the disease but even now, there are still human enemy in the dungeon.

It is extra insidious since there are no visible cause and can actively infect a whole group at one. The scientist even suspects that it is through social interaction with no physical cause. A meme infection if you will.

The worst part about this is that this is not even the worst insidious magical disease in game, considering the titular Etherwind, that infect everything on a large scale including non sentient being, and the *SPOILER* this is kinda tame.

I wonder what being an adventurer in the world like this are like.

It's like they know stepping inside a dungeon mean subjecting their mind to some meme, no known treatments mental disease. At the same time, how will they make a name and fortune for themselves without the dungeon.

To some, this is their only choices, to other it's like "Meh, it will never happen to me." until it does.

Pray to Yacatect that in the future the author doesn't decide to simply add a disease like this in game.

Our gun get cursed while we sleep. Yeah, a while ago I bought a gun for our PC, and surprisingly with the other magic bows and range weapons in game, guns is still one of the best weapons.

A curse item can easily get uncursed in Elona plus, now that the cleric in town can perform divine blessing and uncurse not only our stuff, but our pet's stuff.

Instead of that easy mode stuff, I'm gonna show you how to get rid of a cursed item in an emergency.

Eat it raw.

In game, there are magic scrolls that change an item's material. Superior material scroll can get us our Gold, Diamond, Adamantium, Spirit Cloth(Yes, cloth that is made from spirit. Where is your god now? Oh wait, the gods like to watch people who wear this stuff, so never mind)

While inferior material scroll can get us stuff like normal cloth, paper and...

Food.

Yes, A gun make out of food.

Don't mind if I do.

One explodingly vomiting later

>The wild horse get pregnant.

Why is it always the horse, whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy-

At that moment, a new update from wine hit. Update time now!

You know what they say about Linux update, it is only going to take 5 minutes! (I'm totally going to have to purge wine and reinstall again)

Until next time.

Got any Miracle items yet? Some of their naming conventions can be quite hilarious.
  • The charming light cloak <Mustache (H)Air>
  • The transparent wakizashi <Glittering Madman>
  • The charming girdle <Coming Man>
Just to name a few.

I'm pretty sure Nefian Psychosis is a joke on the fact that player characters are murderhobos, rather than anything particularly ominous. At least for us. It must be terrifying fucking shit if you're living in Palmia, worried about whether an adventurer's actually going to be stable or they've acquired a taste for human flesh.

Can a snail even dismount and poison their horse quickly enough?

Also seriously how the hell did you get your karma back? Just wait out hte nuke?

Also, I did not know that your ridden pet does not count. Fascinating stuff.

I joked but I'm actually pretty pissed. Compared the old:

to the new:

The font look hideous now. Somehow the new upgrade broke the in game font and used its own stiff monotone font instead. Some computer banging later

It is unplayable completely.

(I could always just revert back to a previous version that I know work but due to stubbornness I took a lot of time checking what is wrong. I ended up reverting anyway)

And then I spend the time debugging slacking off and marathoning Toriko and ITEHATTSD and make the debugging even longer. At least while watching If the Emperor had a text to speech device, I recognized a very familiar piece of music.

Anddd we are back.

Last time our horse caught a bad case of alien, instead of using poison to flush the thing out in its infancy( In game "Pregnant" Status is a sign of Alien infection, straight from "Alien" with the chestbuster and everything. You can flush it out in game with poisoning the one who caught it and killing the parasite before it hatches. Incidentally dye used for dying clothes and stuff also counted as poison and is easier to obtain in bulk, that's why my previous character always has 30 or so bottle of dye on him )

We do not have any poison on ourselves, so...

Bye bye horsey.

In game, the allies that we abandoned disappear completely, but that is quite wasteful in later game where some allies is really precious and can be train in a dojo that does not count toward your maximum amount of pets anyway. But this is the early game, and we can always buy a new horse.

And right now, before buying the new horse, I'm riding uuuu-

Samamos the little girl: ...

I also bought a juere infantry from the slave master previously, in truth he is probably the best pet the slave master has for sale in the early game, stronger than the little girl.

...But lately, I started doing escorting quest and the maximum number of allies is only 2 right now. The escorted customer counted toward the allies number...

He is stronger than Samamos, but...

You designated Samamos the little girl as a precious ally.

Samamos the little girl is a little embarrassed .

He is not our precious ally...

In Elona, it is good to have a goal that you set for yourself, to have motivation to go through the tedious task of grinding. This is my goal

I maybe a snail but Samamos and I are going to live in a Palace with all the Gods as my witness.guests

There is also something interesting on sale.

Notice how one of our stats is red? That is a damage stat. Dexterity.

Somehow, something cursed us and reduced our dexterity, at least it is not permanent, red mean we can cure it. In game there is a Healer/Cleric Npc that can cure curse and damage body, we can just paid her 500g for that. But... there is also potions like this that we can use if we are not near any town.

Potion of Restore body.

Potion of Restore Spirit

Each restore half the number of stats(Body restore physical stats: strength, end, speed... Spirit restore magic stats:Magic, will, learning...)

But this potion is special though... It's bless. Not only is it going to restore our spirit, it is also a long term boost to magic stat. A whopping 20%.

Not number or anything like +1 or +5, this is 20%. Combine this with and end game stats character and we have some truly staggering stats. Most end game characters have this on all the time.

We are ready for the continuation of the story now...

The gray dungeon of Lesimas...

The wheel of fortune starts to turn
(This is an actual item in the game by the way. The goddess of Luck like the PC so much that she gave him her precious. But we don't worship her do we.)

The static dungeon.

Despite the changing continent, despite the whim of the gods, it has always been there, millenia ago and millenia to come.
(If you don't know this, Lesimas is a constant dungeon and also our main story dungeon. The usual roguelike story, finding the treasure at the bottom of the dungeon...)

What secret does it hind in its dark depth?

Roll Cutscene

>Mean while, at the camp of Hydra the Prince of Zanan.

Why does the matter of a lowly drug addled man concerned the Prince of Zanan? It seem our hobo friend is really famous after all. To think, he just stands around town being a hobo and killing every player character that tried to fuck with him.

The prince's eyes are bright red, his skin are pale white. He is an Albino, unwanted at birth.

Soldier: Hah, well... There is a passing resemblance, but his appearance is drastically different and he has refused to answer any of our questions. I would say it's a different person myself, but if Sir Loyter says it's him, then I trust his judgement.

<Saimore> The Crown Prince of Zanan: Changed, has he? Fufu... Of course he has. It's impossible that he'd be the same as he was before. Let him be. Do not harm him.

It seem our mysterious prince knows the hobo after all.

Soldier: As you wish, Lord Saimore.

...

<Saimore>: How ironic. We searched for you ever since the time you left Zanan, and yet only now that thing have progressed so far do we finally find you.

What do you expected of him?

Seriously, even the minion know this. He is a broken man living the rest of his life in the sweet embrace of drugs and boozes.

<Saimore> : I expect nothing but that he shall live and bear witness to the comedy that shall soon unfold. Without that man, my story cannot come to a close.

Why do you care about a broken man so much Saimore? Why?

Getting back to the PC, he is exploring Lesimas.

>Become the King of Game

C-can we have a card game in this game?

>There is actually cards and decks in this game and a prototype card game.
>The old author abandon it halfway through.
>The new author has more important features to implement.

Down in Lesimas, we met someone.

A guy in black hood...

Zanan strange activities!!! WHAT HAD THEY DONE?!? Are you alright man? Speak to me!

<Slan> the shadow of Palmia: T-There's no time left for me to explain all....my wounds are... *cough* Listen, Sierre Terre is in danger... this letter..this letter...this is our only hope....

(Sierre Terre is the in game world by the way, like Earth, it is a planet called Sierre Terre. The continent we are on is Tyris at, at the northern part. Sometime peoples confused the two and thought Tyris is the world)

<Slan> the shadow of Palmia: I have no choice but to trust you... *cough* bring the letter to Palmia.... I-I beg you.. You can take everything I have on me...so... plea..s..

<Slan> the shadow of Palmia dies silently...

Requiescat in pace. I will get the letter to king Xabi.

Now I may joked that Palmia managed to withstand both great nations(probably Yerles and Eulderna) by using heroes's strategy. But it is probably true. Both the King and the General are badasses and sometime we even hear the General whispering

>Kill a man, they put you in the gallows. Kill ten-thousand, they make you a General.

All of them probably have epic quests in their name. And the NPC that we see belonging to them in game...

>Mortally wounded, nearing death: No. I have to get this to the king. No, I need to live for my kingdom.
>Another adventurer hired by Palmia nearing death: Hah, told <her> that I...
>The king meet you, a murder hobo adventurer: Would you like a job?

They hired more adventurers on their quests than any other. And most of their request

>I want you to participate in this battle
>We turn around the battle
>I want you to find these relics
>The relics are used in saving the world.

while other nations like Yerles is like

>Huh, an adventurer? For fuck sake. Oh well I have this job that I doesn't want to bother with and is highly likely to kill you? Want to join?

And it make sense! In a world where there are murder hobo roaming around, who somehow manage to do the impossible, why won't you have them helped you?

Or better yet, have a nations full of people like them.

So, the reason why Yerles and all of its tech advantages couldn't just walk all over the Palmian yokels, is that the entire country's population are freewheeling superhumans?

Huh. You know a country's a strategic hellmouth when their partisan soldiers are way tougher than the professional military.

EDIT: I eagerly anticipate the moment you take on that bloody Kamikaze Attack quest. Dear god, explosions everywhere... *PTSD intensifies*

Fire Breath is Love. Fire Breath+Control Magic+Magatama is Life.

Huh. You know a country's a strategic hellpit when their partisan soldiers are tougher than the professional military.

No no, they do have normal army, it's just that when the whole army get steamrolled by all the tech advantages, one murder hobo or so just appear and turn the whole thing around.

You know. Like what a hero would do.

It is also because other small nations have an interest in keeping it afloat because after the the two great nations done warring, who will they turn to next?

Mean while in Palmia

So our saviors know the king of Palmia after all, elven princess confirmed?

Continuing the Elea's crisis story line.

<Xabi>: ...Larnneire, I am truly sorry, but I'm afraid that I cannot lend you that aid you seek. I too am pained by the tragedy befalling the Elea, but as I'm sure you're aware, the most Palmia can do is seek to keep a balance between the Yerles and the Eulderna.

So Yerles and Eulderna is the two great nations at war. Palmia is stuck at the center of the war, a buffer state that belong to none. A delicate balance is achieved.

So he is worried that other nations may pile up on Palmia and the two great nations will have the excuse to end it once and for all. But he doesn't just worry about his country does he,

>Some backward country state where people hit each other with sticks and swords
>Is the reason the world hasn't fall into complete anarchy of war.

And Palmia continues to be even more badass than we thought. I wonder if there is any secret to their success ;)

So there were actually no Elea country before. They get shit on so much that they decided to build their own country.

Without the blackjacks and hookers.

Larnneire continues to appeal to the king's empathy, but in the end...

Politic.

Saimore's minion appears. The prince is close than.

<Larnneire> The Listener of the Wind : So you've come, Lord Barius? Certainly it is undeniable that strange events have been occuring in the Forest due to the Ether Winds. But for what reason would the Vindale Forest, which has posed no problem for all of Sierra Terre, suddenly act up now? Is it no prejudice to lay blame at the feet of the Elea without first investigating?

<Larnneire> The Listener of the Wind :Your Majesty, please heed my words. The issue of the Ether Winds and the Forest is not related to the calamity that they speak of. If the claims that the Prince of Zanan makes are wrong...

Hundreds, thousands, millions(?) of elf will die. Their ancestral home destroyed. All for nothing.

<Xabi> The King of Palmia: Speak no further, Larnneire.

<Larnneire> The Listener of the Wind : But Your Majesty, the truth...

<Xabi> The King of Palmia: I said that's enough. I'll hear the rest of what you have to say tomorrow. I will have arrangements made for you and your companion to stay tonight at the inn. Now is... not the time for us to continue. Please understand.

A snake is very close...

<Larnneire> The Listener of the Wind : Your Majesty... Very well. But I will be back tomorrow. You are the Elea's final hope.

...

<Saimore> The Crown Prince of Zanan: How embarrassing. Don't believe the girl's lies, King Xabi.

He continues to talk about "Meshera". Apparently its other nickname is "World devouring Giant" now, how ominous. But legend is just legend, especially if you can't even remember what it actually is.

Or is it?

The people remember their world was destroyed once by "Meshera". All evident of its existence lost, all witness died. Even if they are not sure the forest is Meshera or not, the fear is still there.

It seem the prince has some special interest in our savior. What would he has done to her if she was in his care?

Nothing. He is not interest in her in that way.

<Xabi> The King of Palmia: []Hmm. Could that be because what Larnneire speaks is the truth?

And the king calls him out right there.

<Saimore> The Crown Prince of Zanan: What I have told you is the truth. I have my own interests in that girl. More importantly, King Xabi, have you forgotten that Palmia's existence is reliant upon Zanan?

<Xabi> The King of Palmia: Larnneire is an important guest. Even if the request is coming from the Prince of Zanan himself, I cannot hand her over. Palmia will forsake all involvement with the issue of the Vindale Forest. Is that not enough to satisfy you? You must excuse me for now. I have other business that must be attend to.

Like reading the letter about Zanan's shady activities!

It is interesting that the crown prince of Zanan openly blackmail the king of a nation. And then the king sass back. Palmia's continue existence do rely on helping from other nations after all then.

But it's funny.

>Zanan lost a war again Yerles.
>Help Palmia, the country that actually stall again both Yerles and Eulderna from collapsing, probably men ,foods, supplies and all that jazz.
>Blackmail its king, threatening to cut the only country holding back the whole Great war fiesco loose, that Zanan propped up in the first place.

It is reckless and against Zanan's self interest. But it is not against Saimore is it?

<Saimore> The Crown Prince of Zanan: ...Fufu, she escaped. Still, I was surprised. Is she not the spitting image of her?

Who is this her?

<Barius> The Blue Haired : First the White Hawk, and now her. At last the wheels of destiny have begun to turn.

Elishe? She looks like Elishe, Mr.Hobo old lover? Why does the prince know about Mr.Hobo's lover? And interests? Did he wanted to fuck Mr.Hobo's lover in the past or something?

It was love

And now she is a spitting image of her. Mr.Hobo is going to meet our saviors aren't he?

<Saimore> The Crown Prince of Zanan: While I don't believe in fate, this lively stage that has been set has exceeded my expectations. I welcome it. We must prepare a suitable role for them. I have faith in your abilities, Barius The Blue Haired.

<Barius> The Blue Haired: ...

Barius is the prince's pet murder hobo. An adventurer employed by the crown. So Palmia is not the only nation to get the ideas.

This right here is why infinite changing dungeon is OP. You have lot of materials right? But they are low level and useless right?

Nope. Casino chip is a low level material you can find in material spots. It is use for gambling and-

That gold potion right there, after identifying is worth 100,000 golds.

You can sell it for 10,000 because you suck at negotiation, but there you go its true worth is 100,000.

The potion of cure corruption, it cures the symptom of the Ether wind disease. So... after you make a trip in some beginner's dungeon(Puppy!) you are suddenly getting some good stuff that is useful no matter what you do, sell it or keep it.

Some tips for successful gambling.

-The only worth while prize is from the third consecutive win and on. So no matter what, cheat and luck your way to the third win. It is only a minor karma hit if you are caught cheating.
-You know who give good luck? Ehekatl!(her most beloved worshiper she gives bad luck though...)
-If the dealer doesn't draw after his first two cards, he has more than you and is going to win. In fact, he only stops drawing when he is out or will win against you. So make an educate guess base on the numbers to see if he is out or has more than you.

Heh. We are standing right next to a janitor and we have no fear. Rod of Teleportation.

Buh bye.

Quick Question: What's your current speed? Despite speed being KING and all in Elona, some of the additions in Elona+ really punish speed-freaks hard.

To elaborate: Once, I rolled up a Catsister Claymore for that delicious delicious speed. Had a speed rating of about 200+ at level 5 or so, could hit most of everything twice with a bloody zweihander before they could so much as twitch. Chainsaw of Doom incarnate.

Only problem: Had pathetic health, up to a grand total of 26 HP (yes, even lower than the snail). Fret not, had enough Evasion and Greater Evasion to DOOOOODGE most of everything thrown my way, and ally fire support too.

Uuuuuuntil I ran into this little thing called the Razor Wire Trap. See, this monstrosity deals damage proportionate to a fraction of the speed of anything caught within it, usually it's not really a problem for most chaps, as they're either beefy enough to tank it or too slow for it to matter.

I had 26 HP. And 200+ speed.

*click!* You activate a trap! Dancing wires slice into your body! (158) You scream. You are reduced into small pieces of meat.

=>158 Damage :facepalm:

My king, I have come to deliver bad news.

<Xabi>: What's that you said? You have a message from one of our scouts? ... Very well then, let me see it.

It caught him his life for these messages you are about to read.

...

Artifact you said? Even Palmia has an artifact of immense power as the backbone of their country.

You... trust me? Like that? A lowly adventurer that walk into your court one day? Like that?

You... ask me to do a whole detachment of the army's job. As an one man adventure? A snail adventurer?

Okay then. So kill them all?

Conery: Nah, just kill their so called king, the minotaur without a leader will dispand on their own.

Conery:...

Conery: It's just that you will probably have to fight through all of them before you get to the king.

So... kill them all. Gotcha.

The king sends a scholar for an expedition into hostile, monster infested dungeon?

Erystia: The dungeon of Lesimas is ancient, older than the creation of Palmia. It is history. Ancient history. So who will know it better than a historian?

Point.

Erystia: So will you help?

Erystia: Fantastic. I hate to admit it, but the castle's regular soldiers have been virtually useless so far.

Yeah. They just stand around, in their spawn point, doing diddly nothing about the monster invasion just outside the gate like the generic NPC they are.

Erystia: What?

Nothing. You heard nothing at all.

Erystia: Okay then...

Heh. Penetrate.

Erystia:... This you heard anything at all?

Uh...

Erystia: ... Just ask if it got difficult okay?

You looked like you are in the 20s and is already the Royal Historian? Do you even have any interest outside of that?

Erystia: Well there are books, books, saving the world with my vast historical knowledges, books, guiding adventurers to save the world without burning it down halfway through, Karam, books.

Huh? What was the last one?

Erystia: Book!

No, the one before th-

Erystia: Anyway

Erystia:...

Erystia: ... Find him if you can.

>Mean while

Lomias! You douchy elf you. Why did you tell me you were in town? It's like a five minute walk to the bar you know. Huh? Lomias? Lomias? Do you hear me? Lomias?...

Mysterious woman that is totally not Liana:... And what business do you have with her?
(Fun fact, in town Loyter during Loyter's rumbling about 'The White Hawk' he would sometime says: "Why does she keep on bothering with him?", with him being 'The White Hawk'. So not only is he down because his old rival is beaten up by life, but also...

Love Triangle! Drama Ahoy!)

(And the mysterious lady's sprite is a petit lady with a cute youthful mischievous face. So we do know what our tough man Loyter's type is. The young mischievous looking girl but actually is an old hag eh? )

And everything come together. Lomias and Larnneire is going to meet Mr.White Hawk the hobo, and all it need is for us to come into the picture. Come on Lomias . It's me. I don't even need reward for helping you with the quest. I can even pay you. Come on. Let me come. And then the gang will all be there.

Lomias:...

Liana:...

So she is call the girl of fancies. Her portrait do always show her having a mischievous smile. And "The White Hawk"'s true name is Bethel.

Come on! He's smoking weed. Hire me.

Liana:...

Liana:Bethel...

Liana: You barely eat, and yet, here you are inhaling crimberry smoke. My precious Bethel... Come now, stand up. You need to greet the client.

My precious Bethel?... Loyter never did have a chance did he?

Bethel: Starving to death with you wouldn't be a bad way to go.

Come on man! Loyter already, and now you? Don't you see how she looked?

...

Liana: Oh Bethel, you flatterer!

Bethel: Fufu. Liana, I don't plan on taking you with me to the next world. Now, the request...

Old people flirting! Old people flirting!!!!!!!!! (Not really, both Bethel and Liana is probably in their 30s, or in Liana's case late 20s. But we are a 7 years old snail)

...

Larnneire :Elishe?

Bethel: ...

... Bethel

Bethel: No, never mind. Tell me about your request.

...

Bethel...

Lomias: There is no need for that.

Everyone else:...

Lomias : What?

Lomias: Let us consider the order to hire a drug addled bodyguard a poor Palmia joke. I don't recall there being anyone out to get us anyway.

...Have you ever heard of someone named Murphy?

... I am not even going to bother.

Larnneire: This place is surrounded? Are they aiming for us?

Bethel: We don't have time to stop and ask questions. Don't lose sight of me. We're going to leave the city through the alleyways.

Guy? Where are you going? Guy? I'm right here. A snail. Right here.

You leave me behind with the assasins

Assassins: There are no one here.

OH COME ON!

To tell the truth... after fiddling with the save file for reasons, it got corrupted and I have to start a new save. At least we haven't gone far in our old save yet.

The nickname is The Incarnation, we are the Incarnation of all our previous characters.

Oh hey, a fluffy tail on the side of the road, it is said that they bring good luck. We need it after that disastrous failure. Or so, in that same quest I picked up a glove...

Our first artifact in this new save

>Oudated Fighting Bull

And it is decidedly meh. Really. IS this an artifact?

In game, you randomly get artifact like this. Supposedly it has better stats and abilities than normal item. Supposedly.

Because of the RNG nature of the game, sometime we have disappointment like this. We can actually have a normal glove that is many time better than this.

There are many 'tier' of artifact as you say:

-Normal artifacts: symbol by <'name'> a step up from the normal item, many 'slots' for skill and stat bonus...

-Godly Artifacts: symbol by ['name'] a step up from the normal artifacts, even more 'slots' for skill and bonus than the normal artifacts.

Having said that, due to the RNG nature of the game, Godly artifact is not all that much better than the normal artifact, and as the same time much, much harder to get. So usually most of your artifact item will be a normal artifact due to the sheer numbers alone.

>More items, more chance the item will be blessed by the RNG god

The next tier are the static artifacts, living weapons and eternal force weapon.

Static artifacts are just what its name say: static. This is the predetermined item, coded by the author in the game. Its stats and skills would always be the game through any saves, the problem is finding it.

It's true that a normal artifact may be better than a static artifact.

May.

But a Static artifacts was actually make by a human being, not some uncaring Random Number God. It have a balance set of stats, skills, and not a horrid abomination against sensibility.

Static artifacts are a safe bet

Living Weapons: It is alive. Have the symbol of a normal artifact weapons. It has its own XP bar and can grow as the user grow.

You can 'level up a living weapon' when it has drunk enough blood and can personally choose what kind of skill or stat the weapon would give. No more randomness. Be wary though that once a Living weapons have grown strong enough, it may turn against its wielder it self. I.e. don't be greedy and make it too strong.

Eternal Force weapons: Frozen the air instantly, the enemy dies. Have the attribute 'the enemy dies', which give a 1 percent chance to instant kill anything it hit. Have better stats and skills than a normal Godly or Artifact weapons. Have a one time usage where it froze a map instantly and kills everything on that map after two turns, no matter what it is. Yet. Even the user who invoked it

The hardest weapons to find in game. Apparently a 2chan meme.

Ranting of a madman aside, it gives us hint on the value of water in game. Water is actually quite rare and have a purpose of being turn into Holy Water, which blessed item.

We continued catching up.

>Worship Yacatect again
>Claim an altar in her name

Yacatect of Wealth takes over the altar: "Good job, just like that! Keep it up!"

And then we have to do that optional quest for a beating heart again, and this time no lucky silver cat in an empty map to save us.

Mia: Find Nyou cat?
Yeah, yeah.

We CAN simply not do it. But it is just too useful to pass up. The beating heart Mia gave increase the chance to catch monster, and also lift some limitation.

What limitation?

>You can only dominate monster lower level than you. Yes, you can use monster ball, but by the time you have easy access to them, act 1 is already finished.
>Most useful monster are Level 45+
>By that level, the PC is already an End game character.

So with the beating heart, we can dominate a Nether dragon's will right now for a ride...

...provided we are strong enough in magic or magic device to dominate its will.

Grinding then. At least it is not level.

Holymotherhowwhatwhywhatthe-

>Trade quest: I want you to get his Barbecue set and give them to me.

MineMineMineMineMineMineMineMineMineMineMine

The best cooking utensil in the game, can help even a beginner cook to get out heavenly food. I trade him 10 oracle scrolls for it.

>1 oracle scroll is 10,000 golds.

Andddd. We are not strong enough to carry it around. It only weight 18,9s but it burden us to much. Oh well. At least there is a high level furniture in our house now.

Look at what we have here. A Bell in a monster ball. I didn't even think when it happen.

Now Bell is probably one of the best pet in the game. It comes at a low level, but have an extreme speed of 600+. That mean, it can take 6 actions before a normal Pc or NPC can act. In game, it just look like it is zooming around.

>But it is extremely weak.

Yes. It has the HP of a tissue paper, like one good hit and it is done. It also can not do damage as it is now in the nature habitat. But it doesn't matter anyway, unless you can 1 shot it, it heal too fast to matter. And you can always give it a gun.

A gun is accurate and always deal fixed damage, depending on its marksmanship, not its pitiful stats.

A bell with a gun is a killing machine. Dealing 6 attacks and move out of range before the enemy can even do 1.

A killing machine that make everything else looked like a snail.

A snail...

Snail...

Janitor :rage:

And so on that day, the janitorpocalypse has begun.

Samamos the little girl slash the Janitor and transform him into several pieces of meat.

The little girl grins "Another death!"

Yes. Another. More. MORE. IN PALMIA THERE ARE TWO JANITOR.

Oh, the janitor managed to get lucky and kill both of our allies? It is a good thing that there is a RESURECTION FOR COMPANIONS SERVICE RIGHT NEXT DOOR, AREN'T IT? AREN'T IT.

The little girl stabs the janitor and kills him. The little girl smile at you.

Fifty explosions later.

Speed up travelling process and stop curse cold. It's good...

IF THE PC HAS LEGS.

Until next time.

Our quest for support skill continue, this time it is the fishing and cooking combo.

...Yes. Those are tadpole soup. At this level the most we can fish are carps and turtles. So tadpole soup for dinner than. Also we ruin a bunch of food we catch, more level in cooking will solve that.

The janitor slaughter continues. This time the PC is the one who finished the job, with a pitiful dmg output though. Only 6 dmg a hit, that's like scratching his skin.

Deadly scratching that never stops.

I wonder how we can improve it...

Samamos cooks us her first homemade meal. It is nothing special.

Aww. You will improve in time.

But it does give us a boost to our potentials though.

She can also gather materials now, perfect for a crafting character like us. Also... our relationship is now 'Soul Mate'

Our relationship improves if Samamos get to kill all the thing, see. There are nothing wrong with improving relationship by enjoying slaughtering monsters together.

Nothing wrong at all.

How many monsters has Samamos the little girl slaughter now?

Welcome to Luminest, the city of art. Located in an patch of land in the middle of a great lake, this place is the place to be if you are a connoisseur of art. From music, to painting, to literature to the art of magic itself. It is said that the landscape inspired many artists, visionaries to craft their art. And the fames from the previous artist draw in even more artist.

The city of art.

Also the mage guild is located there.

Idle chatter:
>Zanan's post war system is a monarchy, but internally the country still operate on the outdated systems used during Eyth Terre.
>I could talk about painting for hours.
>It is said that during Eyth Terre, magic and science was thought to be opposite.

What? Does that mean that it is not considered opposite anymore? Does that mean there are magic science project around in this new era?

In the city where the greatest artists live, the one without talents can sometime feel inadequate.

<Renton> the suffering wizard: I was sure... her obsession with painting had wrecked her health. Her devotion and desire for fame alienated her from ordinary people. But, no long after my sister died, a prodigal artist came here to Lumiest. With hardly any effort, all the thing she wanted came to her. Fame, happiness, fortune...

Talents and no talents...

<Renton> the suffering wizard: To be privileged, or to be poor, it's all just a matter of fate and inescapable coincidence... Do you understand what it is I'm trying to say? That's right, it's tough for me to explain how I feel. It's just that... I guess I no longer understand the meaning of life... that's all.

<Renton> the suffering wizard: I remember my sister really loved a series of children's books illustrated by a woman named Rachel. I'm sure they're really rare, or even impossible to find, but... I'd like to read them just once. I feel that perhaps you can understand how I feel...

Idle's text:

Renton: "Will the kiss of Death bring an end to the cloying, double-plus-ungood that is my life?"

...Yeah, Renton can be little bit dramatic. But we can hardly blame the guy.

Page 3: While some of the older, long haired Wizards demand that Crimberries remin legalized, if only for their sacred "rituals", this must stop!

FOR OUR CHILDREN!

FOR OUR FUTURE!

CONTACT YOUR LOCAL MAGISTRATE TODAY!
Petition the King!

End.

 Think of the children... The parody is just too much. And I lol at the image of old, long haired wizard performing "rituals" aka smoking weed.

Remember Bethel and his drugs problem? It was crimberries.

Yay, new house! I did say I would move out of that cave at soon at I could. This mean more tax...

Who care! House!

A small house with red roof next to the capital city. It's small, but cozy, and hey it's home.

We only have to hire a maid to take care of it when we are away.

Nearing the capital reminded me...

The quest for a silver cat 2. Nekomancer Bogaloo.

See, in the farming town Yowyn there is a guy who hate cat. I don't know? Maybe he's allergic or something. A bunch of cat move into his house when he was away, so he asked the PC to take of it. He doesn't want to be near those cat.

But instead of cat, we have lions. Lions and magical intelligent cat like creatures.

Well... Lions are cats right?

Right?

And the reason for the lion there in the first place is a Nekomancer.

Nekomancer.

She summons cat for battle.

All kind of cat.

Including the rare silver cat.

But really? Nekomancer. Cat tamer.

Nekomancer who summons cat for battle which include lions.

I feel that it is a cool power to have.

Anyway, we aren't actually ready to take on Cacy the cat tamer yet. But we do have a rod of domination that dropped from a quest.

The rod of domination,...well dominate a monster mind and make them our pet. And in game, rod usage is almost instantaneous. We just have to go in, dominate a silver cat, teleport out. Easy peas-

OH GOD! The cat tamer is fast. We was just standing at the other room, and then literally teleport out. And she manages to caught up.

Caught up to a teleporter.

From the other side of the map.

Nope.Nope.Nope.Nope.

Emergency escape scroll activated.

IT TOOK A COUPLE OF TURNS UNTIL THE EFFECT ACTIVATED. WE TOOK THE TELEPORT ROD AND HOLD ON TO DEAR LIFE AS WE TELEPORT AROUND THE ROOM HOPING THAT THE SCROLL KICK IN BEFORE CACY KICKS OUR TEETH IN.

Also I know I forgot something.

Samamos' first pair of gloves. She made it during the night.

>Godly quality.
>Blessed.
>Actually good.

Also we grind jeweler to make 30 return scrolls. So we can be instantly at home when ever we wanted to.

But anyway. The ingame's day is November 28. It is a couple until December.

December...

We have to make it then.

I want to see it...

The festival.

(Samamos the little girl has now made more than 11 pair of gloves in our sleep. I know they are all artifacts quality and all, but does it have to be gloves? I mean what will I do with 11 pair of artifacts gloves now? It is clucking up my inventories.

Samamos the little girl: ...

Uhhhhhh)

Welcome to my favorite city in the game world, Noyel! And it is in festival season too.

You can find it by traveling North East until nearing the end of the map. Seeing patch of land covered with snow mean you are nearly there.

Noyel is said to be the city where Jure descended and started curing innocent people. The city is always covered in snow, and is truly a different sight from the other cities.

Right now, in the month of December, it is the festival of Jure. There are many travelers, shop keepers, bards NPC who appeared here and give the city an even more lively spirit.

Prostitutes too, of course traveled to this crowded, festive event.

Let's see what the many stalls have to offer.

The price of stuff in a festival is of course bullshit. All of those mine can be bought at the prize of a few thousand normally, and the nuke from Noel is only 15,000. That gift is also only a few thousand in a normal shop, if hard to find.

At least the festival stall sale what can't be found normally until later on.

The superior material scroll can make almost any equipments we have into a superior material equipment. That glove is now diamond, that sword is now adamantium, that armor is now emeral-

Wait. Aren't emerald soft and is only useful at jewelr-

It's magic emerald now! Hundred times better than even steel! There! Better material give a better base stats, it's still random of course, but a higher quality material gear's stats is draw from a higher pool, differently than normal.

The Unicorn horn cure insanity. Not that it matter. Once you have gone insane, the next time it is easier to inflict you with insanity, and than the next, and the next. Every time it lasts longer, causes more, and when is the next time you are going insane again?

I would like it better if this high value item also erases that vulnerability that the first insanity cause, but such is roguelike. What can you do?

The last item is an evolution heart. IF a pet has potential, and is on good term with you, you can use this to- uh- evolve them. The pet or ally gain a one time stat boost(which include speed!) , special skill, a new sprite. Some ally can even be evolve two or three time with the most noticeable of them having three stages of evolution, and increasingly badass sprite. So awesome that it belong on a boss more than an ally.

The evolution system can be called one of the largest feature in Elona+.

Oh hey, a food stall. He sells soda and exotic food too, great! I'm sure eating a yaki made from a literal Lovecraft eldritch abomination will be fine.

Fine.

Fineeeee.(I don't know how to do the eldritch font)

That stair is a portal to a pocket dimension. I don't care what the description says, it is a pocket dimension.

Basically, drop it in your home and it become a stair. A stair to where?

A stair to your home. OR at least a perfect copy of your home with out any of the item lying around. And unless you have a dimensional item to bring you out of that space, like another stair in that space or an escape scroll, you are stuck.

It is lovely when the only way out is to die and respawn.

Especially lovely if you don't have anything to bring you to a fast, painless death. Oh no, you have to wait it out until you starve to death to get out.

Did I say the game is humorous?

PC suddenly gained dementia. It's not the yaki though, it's just the Ether diseases. Speaking of the Ether disease...

A potion of cure Corruption is the only known cure of Ether Plague in the game. Yes. The Ether Plague brought by the Ether Wind. Each person have different symptom and can sometime be very random. We have dementia, but the other may be different...

You could actually choose the option to give her a potion of cure corruption without actually having it on your body, but...

Lonely <Pael>: Liar! Lies.

...

...

Questing for Potions of Cure Corruption it is then.

...

Happy holy night!

So this is the holy night festival people were talking about...

No! I want to play a little longer!

Mother...

Jure, oh holy Jure, forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

How about a drink sir?

"You, have you seen the great celestial statue of Jure yet? Oh, what a beautiful woman she is!"

"It's colder than death's pecker hanging in a well. But, y'know, welcome to Noyel."

I have to say, I missed this lovely charm of Elona.

"A legend says Jure's tear can cure any diseases. In fact, there have been many witnesses of her miracles in the past events. Such as an old blind woman recovering sight, can you believe it?"

Did I say Jure's ascension is still in recent memories? It's especially true here.

"I will meet my lover tonight!"

On the holy night, where snow was seen falling. I hope it is not like that romance story where the two lovers ended sitting on different side of the wall, not finding each other, feeling frustrated.

"Behold! a Legendary Giant of Fire! Be careful you aren't burned now."

Wait. Who the fuck are you?

That chained monster on the upper right corner of the screen is a monster.

Redundant I know, but it need emphasis. He can take on all NPC on the map plus the PC and come out victorious.

And some chuckle fuck think it is funny to chain him here.

In a town.

A town consist of mostly women, children and nuns. (I don't know why but this town is just the way it is)

Anyway, we are standing next to a punching bag. Which unfortunately has a human hung from it.

A human who is unfortunately a Mani fanatic.

Another god.

In the festival of Jure.

And surrounded by other Jure's worshipers and fanatics.

It's unfortunate.

We release him and get the sand bag. It's useful, I come here mostly for this. And Pael too. Can not forget about Pael.

With this item, you can use it to restrain a monster.

They become a punching bag as you say. Immortal, forever ganged up on by the PC's pets and allies but never truly die.

"Stop! Please..."

"I can't take this anymore..."

Did I say something about the game's humor?

Anyway. Having an immortal target is useful to practice offensive skills on. Though it's nerf in later versions though, I don't remember which. But it is still useful as a target for practicing spells.

Spells are trained if they are used. They can't be used if there aren't a target.

Oh hey, there is a target here.

"St.Jure's body pillow for FREE!"

Who are you?

No? I'm a Yacatect worshiper.

Part time worker: Shit!

What?

He turns away peddling to another traveler.

"You there lucky one, a beautiful and sweet woman awaits for you!"

He actually gives out Jure's body pillow to newly converted.

Jure's body pillow.

Jure.

Tsundere.

Body pillow.

I don't know how the goddess will feel if she knows this. Her mortal fanatic appeal to unbelievers with body pillow's tactic.

It is extremely tempting though.

Other note worthy stuffs include a holy well that give many bonus when drink from. From stats bonus to suddenly gaining skill to suddenly a mother fucking WISH.

A wish.

You literally type in something and the game interpret what your wish is and give you that. Of course the AI is stupid and may not give you what you want, but

A WISH.

There is a shopkeeper in town, the chuckle fuck who brought that giant genocide monster here. His name is Moyer the crooked, he sells jewelry, mostly rings.

When invested, he sells speed rings.

Speed ring is what its name sake is. A ring that give speed. And speed is king in the game. But it would take a lot of investments for Moyer to regularly sells speed ring though. It may be worth it if you are unlucky and found no speed ring even at end game.

There is a Nun NPC who sell indulgences, which increase your karma by a large amount, enough to escape from criminal status. She only sells it when you are a criminal though, and it cause millions.

The town is awash with people arriving at the festival and drums and whistles make a merry rhythm.

Good bye Noyel.

We come back to Palmia for grinding. Fishing and Cooking time. Both skills have 300 percent+ potential. That mean we gain experiences in that skill 3 times faster than normal.

After grinding it to level 20 and 12 respectively, I remember how completely tedious this is.

And some how Gardening trudges on to level 30 with out any nudging from us.

Our first static artifact. The unknown shell drops from a crab. Any crabs. Guess which one is the crab with the artifact.

This thing grant great resistance to sound damage. 'Catches signals from God'

That mean it let you hear from literal gods in heaven chatting.

Sometime they speak directly to you too. The shell draw attentions from the gods? Or the gods are always checking in on everyone and this shell just let you see them.

>You actually hear from the Gods themselves.
>Indisprovable proofs that gods exist
>They literally talk to you sometime when they are bored.
>Only believe in them a little (Pious level 5 right now)

We hired a maid. She gives our house a name.

>Blessed Companion Hideout

Aww. Can't I name my own home?

Anyway sidetracking. Remember what we return to Palmia for. (We didn't even walk that long ass way, a scroll of return and done. It is quite useful)

Do it for Pael, Naqu2o

I'm gambling just for you Pael!

Pael: I hope mommy get better soon.

Me too.

We can only give her 1 potion a month, to stop the karma farming probably(the quest gave 20 karma)

A mother sick, her child lonely, an adventurer diligently gives them a hand every month.

It ended just as you expected.

Sadness.

Her disease will never be cure, Lily will ask us for death, so that she doesn't have to bother her child with her disease anymore.

Honestly I feel it is wasted potential what with a woman with uncurable disease plot line living in the town where THE GODDESS OF HEALING AND MIRACLES is known to hang around, watch over, and have a large festival in her name. She eats that kind of disease for breakfast.

We learn Carpentry, max its potential, learn Magic Device, max its potential. And then...

Remember that sand bag?

Power Leveling is a go.

And lol at the line in the house with a maid.

>The maid looks good enough to touch.
>"OH master. I don't do THAT kind of thing."

20 rods of magic missile later.

We actually carve up hundreds a hit with the rod now.

Hundreds a hit with the weakest rod. Nice.

I've heard that if you press on after 5 potions and refuse to help Pael's mom commit suicide by adventurer, she actually gets better. Think they added it in Elona+.

Yeah I know. She does not actually get better though, her condition just doesn't get worse. She stay looking like a monster, but after seeing the PC's encouragement she decided that she will live for her child sake, even as a monster.

At least mutation into a monster completely erase her previous symptoms(The pain of changing, etc)

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA-
ahaahaha...

No that I got that out of the system, the new update is here.
(You are going to find out why I am laughing very soon

So a while ago I lost all my data, but the day before I just back up the save to the cloud. But we don't have the old 1.50 version anymore, so we go with the new version now.

(Damn I have to step up my game now)

Ahem. In the new version, the changing dungeon like Puppy's Cave has been nerf a bit. Due to crafting player just needing to camp at a relatively safe spot to gather materials and walk out with end game items, the material spots in the changing Dungeon had been removed.

And I was looking to exploit the heck out of that too.

In Elona there are a lot of thing you can do, and the new version emphasize that further. In the old version, there is a werewolf detective game where you talk to citizen and figure out who is the werewolf.

Well in the old version you can do it or don't and it will have no punishment whatsoever. It doesn't effect gameplay but a thing that you can do. Now

... A few people in town already die.

Oh well. Not like it effect m-

The shopkeeper of the magic shop had been assassinated.

It is the work of an werewolf.

Ah.

Do you see how low my gold is right now? In game, you can invest in some shopkeeper, they can get more quality stuff for you, and the magic shop is a safe bet what which all the rare magic item and potions.

I just -uh- invest 100k in her and was just coming back for the result.

There is a bunch of new skills in the new version. This skill is apparently a replacement for one of the disappointing starting feats from before.

Our dance hypnotize all monsters on the screen into motionlessness. Breath taking as you say.

...And then the little girl take their actual breath away with her sword in their motionless gut.

Another new thing is the reputation with the town, depending on how much quest you have performed for the town peoples. It has not yet been implemented fully yet.

The old detective NPC is now a lot more important. They give us hint on who is the werewolf. (We could just savescum and kill all the town people until we find the werewolf. Could. Not will)

This is Yowyn though, not Palmia. And apparently the murders have gotten so intense in Yowyn that there are multiple detectives there.

Good advice.

I am really tempted to just start killing everything though. A werewolf when threatened will change back to their original form to protect themselves. IF they spawn in Noyel though ...everything go. I will wake up the Giant to help root out the werewolf if I have to. It is MUH TOWN.

Rod of...MAGIC LAZER? That sound so awesome. It is also a rod that I have never seen before. A new one then.

We are in a desperate need to get swole. I can't even pick up a tomato in the harvest time right now due to how weak we are. I start selling stuff and hopefully we got a little more space as we level up.

An eye for an eye eh, wise guy?

Sometime in quest the objective is covered like this. It can get really confusing and make a player lost their way. What a new player don't know is that

...WE CAN BURN IT

And next thing I know, half the map is on fire.

Oh well.

And the custom version has a bunch of new features as well. You know? The English mod for the Japanese mod of Elona?

A bunch of quality of life skill, making gamesplay easier.

Huh what is-

-this-

Awesome.

The Custom mod allow you to configure your pet AI, when they are low on health heal, always stay in range, always stay out of reach, etc.

I don't know how the Teach a spell or ability work though. That may be to broken, if Samamos the little girl as she is right now, her stats is higher than the PC, she can use combat item(Rods, potions) just fine. The only thing the PC has over her is his ability to learn just about everything. Have a spell for all occasions.

All useful new features -

-Huh what is-

Huh. Who are-

-Huh. WHAT DO YOU MEAN A WORLD OF TWO PEOPLE-

-HUH

-AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

IT IS A DATING GAME. A DATING GAME!!!
(At least is it better than that oniichan appreciation day last year.)

Yeah, I know. Noa put it all the way back in Elona version 1.10 with all of it unnerf glory as a Missingno type of pet. It is also that kind of game broken too, with the map that that pet NPC spawn on and attacked on considered lost.

Its unnerf version has duplication(duplicate when hit or die), cast wishes(small chances), speed.

The fun part come when casting wishes hurt it(cost to much mana) and it spawn more of itself, which would also cast wishes, which would hurt itself and spawn more. And it is too fast for the PC to stop.

Infinite wishes.

And when I say infinite, you can not even step one step with 10 wishes exploding into your face and the number of wishes increase with time. It is simply call "brother" in that Missingno type of pet. And the name would glitch out into "trash" if you save and exit the game.

Edit: And then the others people in the chat got flooded with the wishes.

Been playing the new update and I'm loving it, the new NPC stuff is legit as hell.

But I accidentally ate my raw seven league boots and now I have fallen into despair.
