Turn 16: Bonding
[X]Loutuo
-[X]Finish Bonding with Foxy(Name pending) the Fox
-[X]Qi Used(3)
Loutou was on a mission—no, not a dangerous, world-saving mission like the ones in the tales of legendary cultivators ,or even a mission like the ones offered by the elders. This was a far more important quest: bonding with Foxy.

"Come here, Foxy," Loutou coaxed, holding out a piece of jerky he'd swiped from the kitchen. "Don't you want to be best friends and get all the treats and pets??"

Foxy, the little ice fox with the big attitude, stared at the jerky, then at Loutou, her eyes narrowing in suspicion. She sniffed the air cautiously before letting out a huff that seemed to say, Is that all you've got?

Loutou sighed. This was going to be harder than he thought. "Alright, alright, how about this?" He produced a shiny, red ball from his pocket, the kind he had seen other animals go crazy over though personally he didnt get the appeal.

Foxy's ears twitched as she watched Loutou roll the ball across the floor. It bounced once, then twice, before wobbling to a stop. Foxy tilted her head, giving Loutou a look that clearly communicated her thoughts: You think I'm some common pet? She yawned dramatically, curling up in the corner as if to say, Try harder, llama.

"Fine, fine," Loutou muttered, retreating to his last resort. "You're going to love this." He pulled out a small brush, the kind that made Foxy purr contentedly whenever he managed to use it right. "Come here, girl. Let's have some quality time."

Foxy's eyes flicked to the brush, then back to Loutou. For a moment, it seemed like she was considering it. But just as Loutou thought he'd won, Foxy darted forward—not to him, but to the brush, snatching it from his hand with surprising speed. Before Loutou could react, she was off, darting around the room with her prize, tail wagging triumphantly.

"Hey! Come back here with that!" Loutou chased after her, stumbling over cushions and nearly knocking over a lamp in his pursuit. Foxy dashed under the bed, popping out on the other side, brush still firmly in her jaws. Loutou made a desperate lunge, but Foxy was too quick, weaving through his legs and sending him crashing to the floor.

Groaning, Loutou looked up to see Foxy perched on his chest, brush in mouth, and a glint of victory in her eyes. She dropped the brush just out of his reach and let out a yip that sounded suspiciously like a laugh.

"Okay, okay, you win," Loutou conceded, slumping back in defeat. "You're the boss."

Foxy gave a satisfied flick of her tail and curled up beside him, finally allowing Loutou to give her a few gentle strokes. It wasn't exactly the bonding moment he had envisioned, but it was progress. Sort of.

As he lay there, half-heartedly patting Foxy, Loutou remembered something. He reached into his robes and pulled out a note that had arrived earlier that day. He had been too busy trying to bond with Foxy to read it.

Unfolding the paper, Loutou's eyes scanned the message. His face fell. "The tournament… it's delayed again?" He squinted at the tiny print. "Six more months?!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!"

Foxy, sensing his distress, looked up with an inquisitive tilt of her head. Loutou just groaned and crumpled the note, tossing it aside.

"At this rate, I'll be an old man by the time it happens," he muttered, glaring at the ceiling.

Foxy snuggled closer, her tail draped over his arm. Maybe she was warming up to him after all. Or maybe she just liked seeing him suffer.

"Great," Loutou sighed, staring at the brush just out of his reach. "Six more months of this."

Foxy gave a contented yawn, as if to say, You'll survive.
insights for the path of ruling please

[X] Changjian Twins! (With Interested Friends!)
-[X] Action: The Great Pet Hunt, or so it was called. The twins, being notified that there was such missions, decided to halt their solitary training in order to help their fellow disciples find their own animal companion, having greater emphasis to the more 'notable' ones before then focusing to those of their own 'clique'. If Wuyin's Shadow Panther Cub named Tien is anything to come by, and wasn't that a surprise?, then with proper time and care given then most of their fellow Disciples will be able to do much more. With such thoughts, it's a bit of a pity that their Sect's relationship is rather strained with Jade Claw right now as they will somehow be able to find a common ground with having animal companions even if the other Sect focuses primarily on canines.
--[X] [Qi] 1 Qi Used (Tempered Heart), the twins discussed it with one another and those of their fellow groups who opted to try getting their own take of the Passionate Heart Innate Technique, and the two decided that barring certain circumstances they'll likely still proceed with focusing most of their attention to (hopefully) Perfecting their own Rainbow Eyes Innate Technique. Though it is rather 'doubtful' whether they can hit Perfection or simply hit the proverbial wall in Jade-grade. Regardless, they'll likely be returning to their own solitude to train come next month in preparation of the coming tourney... of which the two pondered the feasibility of joining both the 'combat' and 'non-combat' Tourney... They are currently lack for the latter in preparation however...

Turn 16: Training Continues
Training Continues - A Jiang Chen Omake
For all that Jiang Chen spent most of his time sequestered away in training, he still made sure to keep up to date on Sect news, in preparation for cases such as this. Elder Nianzu was taking a group of his generation of Disciples out on a hunt, not just to kill, no, but to capture and tame creatures using the new techniques incorporated into the Red Dew Technique. Jiang Chen had yet to take the time to familiarise himself with them, for all that he had dedicated himself to training, having focused on his Innate Technique for the past few months, but he knew enough about taming that he could take advantage of the opportunity.

A grim certainty set into his being. This was it, the opportunity to test what he had gained from all his training on the Passionate Heart. He could feel as his heart beat in his chest, waiting to devour his Qi like a furnace and send energy bursting through his meridians and Qi pathways, pushing his body beyond the limits of even most specialised Body Cultivators, at least those who didn't share his honing of the organ. For as impressive as their feats could be, even without the use of Qi, it was truly the power inherent to the Spirit that was the mightiest. His dedication hadn't led him astray, as a Body Cultivator would burn through their entire supply of Qi before matching him if they had not improved their lungs.

And their lay the next step in the Path. He knew, now, that his first refinement of his Lungs was a failure, some imperfection or failure in his own comprehension had led to him not unlocking the true power of the second of the Refined Organs, a boundless well of Qi from which to draw, refilling with every breath. For the Body Cultivators of his generation, seeking the Power of the true Refined Organs would be a fools endeavour, for all that it would grant them the greatest power in combat a Peasant could achieve, they would still be mere Peasants, ants beneath the boots of their betters.

Jiang Chen, though? He himself was a Spirit Cultivator. He had sacrificed the power of his body to hone the power of his mind and soul, and as a result his Qi spread throughout his body, an ocean in and of itself. He had six months before the Peasant Tournament, and was set on competing, to show the other Sects the might of the younger generation of the Red Dew, so he had a timeline before he would breakthrough to Soldier. His body was imperfect, weakness in his Spirit preventing him from pushing it to the pinnacle in this realm, weakness in his flesh meaning he only unlocked the power of his Heart naturally, but these failures could be built on. Learnt from. Jiang Chen learned quick, and by the time the Tournament came to an end, he was determined. He would turn Failure into Perfection, and Ascend with a Foundation stronger than Steel.

(Could I get Failure Insights from this, please?)
