Grasp the Stars (Stellaris: Overlord)

[X] (Edict) Fortify the Border (+2 starbases without upkeep penalty, cost: 18)
[X] (Edict) Map the Stars (+25% survey speed, +10% anomaly discovery, +1 hyperlane scanner range, cost: 18)

I realize I forgot to do a 'no more' option in the edicts, so I will be going with any that have majority support

Also, if I could get 3 Beatrice rolls it would be appreciated!

Are we supposed to be finding so many dead civs?

Yes. Stellaris is a kitchen sink of space fantasy, and one of the most common elements in space fantasy media is various kinds of precursor civilizations, such as
  1. Precursors who died out mostly peacefully (boredom, holodeck, birth control)
  2. Precursors who died out more violently (war, plague, moon impact)
  3. Precursors who ascended to another plane of existence and left behind their stuff
  4. Precursors who stagnated and retreated inwards to become a rump state hoarding hypertech, mostly ignoring you unless disturbed
  5. Precursors who are never shown on-screen but their existence can be inferred from your homeworld being a terraformed paradise planet
  6. Precursors who are also your descendants/successors because of time loop shenanigans
  7. Sole survivor of a precursor species that's only mostly dead
Stellaris enforces one of the first three in every game as a major survey-questline you can discover. How many of type #4 your galaxy has is chosen at game setup time. Then there's chances for more to appear in various anomalies and faction-backstories and random spawns at various levels of impact.

If anyone feels like rolling their own 1-month result for Beatrice, please go ahead - I'll use them in order in-universe :)

With the completion of the Alassia survey and the commencement of construction in Toropia, humanity's coreward expansion is continuing apace.

Closer to home, Exoplanetary Secretary Lebouef struggles to handle some of the pettier aspects of her job. Advanced ground-penetrating scans of Kore have revealed a crust richer in highly concentrated mineral seams than previously thought. Prospectors are seeking a government grant to explore even deeper. The treasury can bear the expense, but it may amount to nothing.

[X] (Grant) Dispense the funds. (-1000 credits, of a current stockpile of 6000, currently gain 80/month)
[] (Grant) We already have more than we thought we would.

Meanwhile, Pavel and his team report finding another underground chamber. In contrast to the one on Mars, this one has no obvious entrance. They are shipping out specialized equipment to slice their way in.

The completion of Toropia's stellar outpost marks an interesting milestone - namely, that all hyperlanes directly connected to the Sol system are now within humanity's growing sphere of influence.

[Gain 6 months' production of Unity (378) as a bonus!]

Beatrice is having trouble getting on the wagon & staying clean, but she has been at it long enough now that future rolls will be at +1.

No harm in looking when we have a surplus.

How is our Mineral situation, does it look like we need this?

What happened to the fusion project?

Those numbers could be better.
Besides, unless we are subterran we can't Dig too Deep, right?
