So I just read the whole thing and I think that we can know a lot more about Charlotte's origins than you would think.
The first thing would be the references to a singular goddess, it can be presumed that she is from Earth Shin that had goddess as a parahuman. From the curtsy I think that she was one of the servants the nobles sometimes take from the lower class, perhaps after she gathered attention with her singing skills. I do not know how she would be selected by cauldron as a test subject, perhaps the lord was abusive and she was badly injured or something.
